One year ago today.....June 29, 2008

Tone and Casey hung out around his apartment. He was packing for his trip. Page 25 http://www.wftv.com/download/2008/0923/17540075.pdf

Amy and Casey’s text messages page 52 http://www.docstoc.com/docs/1772101/...-Text-Messages

Casey to Amy 06/29 10:25 a.m.: Can I borrow you and your gas can today?

Amy to Casey: Storage hun. I was supposed to have my stuff out by now.

Casey to Amy 06/29 11:24 a.m.: S***. I forgot.

Amy to Casey: Sorry! Hey, my camera is being shipped to your house. What should I do about that?

Casey to Amy 06/29 12:38 p.m.: How soon?

Amy to Casey: I don’t know. Once it’s fixed?

Casey to Amy 06/29 2:46 p.m.: I wasn’t sure if it was already done. Have it sent to the house. I have a lot of details to fill you in on. I’ll call you later on.

Sounds like Casey was making some weak attempt in regards to getting her car from where she'd parked it at the Amscot. But did not ask Tony to help her. She did ask Jessee, right? And, Amy.

Thank you desmom, I love these recaps, and they are the first thing I read when I get up. I don't post often, and sometimes don't get through many pages...but come here everyday for your "one year ago" post.

I have completed the one year ago today events through July 3. This will probably be a slow week on the boards with the upcoming holiday. Do you want me to post them all today, or do a daily post?

This week was a busy week for Casey, family and friends. Cindy was on vacation, Tone was in NY, Cameron in OH, Ricardo flew to Boston, Melissa-friend of Troy's-arrived in Orlando, Casey got a manicure & tattoo, Diary of Days was composed, My Caylee is Missing was posted, Cindy went to Universal, Lee looks for Casey in the bars....

Yes on June 28...

Casey called Jesse at 1:25 p.m. and told him her car ran out of gas at the Amscot and she needed to borrow a gas can. Jesse was at his parents on the other side of town and unable to help her. Page 17 http://www.docstoc.com/docs/1642922/...se---Statement

I like them daily. Kind of keeps them in perspective. But do what ever is easiest for you. In any event, you are great for doing this and thanks!

It seems to me that Casey made the decision that "her" weekend partying plans took priority over retrieving her car from the Amscot where she had parked it. Just goes to show how dumb Casey really is. At 22 years of age, she should have already known the danger of her car being towed by leaving it parked like she did.

I kind of like the daily events also.

When I started these, they were pretty easy with Casey's day to day life. It appears her life was focused on partying and boys.

Mid-June was tough. Casey carried on with her life like "it was just a normal day". This chic is cold!

Now I am working on July. It is like she was on one giant Spring Break...partying, tattoos, manicures, shopping, more partying.

A year ago today, this would have been the 2nd Sunday that Cindy hadn't seen Caylee. I remember Cindy telling LE/FBI that Caylee was ALWAYS at the Anthony home on EVERY Sunday up until she "went missing."

If I was going to dump a car where it would go unnoticed, it would not be in a small parking lot like Amscot's. I would leave it at a 24 hour grocery store/big box store, mall or airport parking lot.

IMO, Casey acts before thinking.

desmom, what do you recall of George's work during the last week of June? I only remember him telling LE/FBI that he worked his LAST day on June 30th for one employer. And, from Cindy and George, that he worked his FIRST day for a new employer on July 14th.

Thanks for your dailies Desmom, I look forward to them each morning
Just reading what was said between Casey and Amy gave me a bit of anxiety, in some ways I just can't believe Casey didn't psychologically cave..by all rights I suppose she still hasn't.
At this point Caylee was already dead, and probably in those woods...or would be soon. Amy is still under the assumption that Cindy and George were leaving and that she would be moving into that house...that is why she wanted to know where to have her camera sent. Good grief...
And it sounds like Amy had all of her stuff in storage and she was meant to be going to get it...I wonder what Casey continued to tell her for her to believe that? Did Amy still believe all the way up until Cindy called her to go to TonE's that she would be moving into the house?
I wonder if Casey ever did come out and tell Amy the 'truth'...that her parents were going nowhere soon...and there was no way they were getting that house?
I would have an anxiety attack over a small white lie involving no one else...add all of those up together and I would have a breakdown of some kind...nerves of steel. Of course if I truly had a 'missing' child...I would have been a basket case on June 16th..

Just my opinion of course...

Casey never called C, G or Lee for help. How did Cindy know the gas gauge was broken when she was interviewed by Greta? According to docs. the gauge was working. Tho the tank was empty[when impounded], they[LE] added 5 gal. of fuel and the gauge worked. Huh.....
IMO

Thanx Des. Awesome work.

George's interview on 7/24 is a little confusing at times. I think he was working for Andrews International.

In the interview with LE, they were discussing the ladder at the pool, jumped to the gas can incident on 6/24 and then back to the pool.

On page 27 http://www.cfnews13.com/uploadedFile...George0724.pdf

YM: Did, did anyone every mention that to her before the police arrived? Like hey, you know what about the pool? What happened at the house?

GA: Cin, I don’t know if Cindy and, and, and Lee did because I, I worked afternoons during that day. I work for Andrews International.

YM: Right.

GA: That’s where I’m currently working. I was at the uh, Fashion Square Mall in the Premier Theater until twenty after nine, nine-thirty, something like that. I got home at ten minutes to ten. That’s when my wife was standing outside, walk, pacing back and forth in the driveway. The car’s still inside the garage....

A "little confusing" LOL. I think that George was purposefully being evasive and this just makes me want to see proof that he "was" working and what days/hours. I think George is a huge liar.

George clearly wasn't working an 8 hour day on July 15th. I do remember him saying that he didn't have an opportunity to get to the PO on July 14th to pick up the certified letter as he worked that day (first day on the job).

I suspect that was the sole purpose of casey abandoning her car+purse in front seat.

GM. Thank you Des for all of your hard work. I was reading the weekend thread and see that there was discussion over Casey's driver's license. I remember early in the case I had a picture of Casey's license in one of the doc dumps because I actually looked it up to see if it was valid. IIRC it expired on her birthday this year. I'm wondering what the issue date was and if it were a duplicate. I can't find it anywhere. grrrr

I think Casey abandoned the car because she just couldn't stand the smell anymore. Imagine driving around in a car that smells of the dead body of your child you had just killed.

Amy was so kind hearted to Casey, especially after Casey led her on to think that she could move into the Anthony home.

So in retrospect it was true for Casey, she had a lot more freedom after Caylee was 'gone'.
Casey had to accomodate Caylee with everything she wanted to do...and I still believe Caylee was left to sleep in that car for periods of time. Actually when they found the dinner/table knife in the car I figured Casey had it to cut food for Caylee...things like pizza and sandwiches?
It doesn't seem like Casey even missed a beat...once Caylee was 'gone' she was totally free to do whatever whenever she wanted. Actually I suppose with the new group of friends around..they wouldn't question really where she was..As long as she stayed away from old friends and her family, no one would be that much wiser at all.
It may not have been a plan but had Casey been a bit 'quicker' it could have maybe worked, especially since she had George and Cindy that just believed whatever she said. If Casey had have made it to a different state, not have abandoned the car but just parked it in that state at some random large parking lot...it would take a very long time for anyone (even Cindy) to pin her down.
Even with Caylee's body being found...without anyone suspecting or looking for Caylee..I doubt it would have been as 'significant' as it was. I doubt Roy Cronk would have been poking around randomly for dead bodies..
I wonder if Casey ever re-thinks this situation and what she would have done differently?

Just my opinion of course..

I wonder if the State will be successful in getting the check/fraud charges heard this summer? Would the State run into difficulties picking a jury to hear them, do you suppose?

G'morning!

Yes, ITA, a Walmart parking lot or other 24 place where the parking lot has alot of activity would have been the practical spot to leave it.

IIRC, didn't Casey say she left a note on the car? Was that ever confirmed from the tow yard?

Even small places such as Amscot wouldn't have towed it, IMO, if you speak with someone, let them know what happened, and promptly come back to get it. Within a day.

Casey though, didn't have any resources at her disposal to retrieve it on her own.

It boggles my my mind that Casey had no resources to retrieve her car, yet could get herself a tattoo on July 2/3. She had a funny way of setting priorities.

When did Cindy send Lee looking for kc? Was that before or after the car is towed?

Yes, she did have a funny way with money. Whenever it fell into her lap, she spent it, asap, on whatever. Not caring when she'd get her next windfall or what she might need later on.

I like the daily reports but I would like for you to do what is easiest for you. The updates are greatly appreciated and when done daily it is easy to reflect back and see a little insight into this case. And to really focus and see that there was really NO thought of Caylee. Rest in peace sweet child.

As more days go by, I'm getting a stronger feeling that the defense is going to ramp up, and hit with a ton of distractions around mid July.

A little late, but I was thinking the same thoughts, Can you imagine sitting on the jury and listening to the day to day activities of this person. As desmom said, " one cold chic"

I think Casey will have to plead guilty to the charges with all of the evidence against her. But with Jose at the helm who knows.

There isn't anything to defend on the check charges. Casey signed her name to them and she's on camera cashing them, lol.

Unless Baez is going to try and garner sympathy from a jury by saying 'the nanny made her do it'

I'm wondering what the issue date was and if it were a duplicate. I can't find it anywhere. grrrr
Get out of my head.

I was looking for something and got distracted when I ran across her DL.

pages 36 and 41 http://www.docstoc.com/docs/2810988/...sed-Nov-26-005

Compare the signatures on the checks on pages 38 and 41 at the above link to the signature on page 35 http://www.docstoc.com/docs/3868229/...lando-sentinel

Anyone else think Casey forged these checks? jmo
