2009 St. Jude Classic

Wow, didn't know they had such a hard time finding sponsors for this tourney. That is sad to hear. They actually cut the purse 500K. There is an article on the golf channel link I'm posting.

They have already tee'd off and looks like Lefty is at 2 under. Birdie the first two holes... good job Lefty.

The other golfer we always talk about ... that would be Tiger.. went to Bethpage and practiced on Monday with Hank and is now in Florida practicing for the US Open at Isleton.

Btw: Jack was 38 years old when he captured his 67th PGA tour win,
Tiger Woods is 33 and is on pace to shatter (destroy) his record of 73 wins

Should be fun watching the records evaporate over the next 1-2 years
You know.. I think Jack is enjoying watching him.. and I think honestly think he will be the first one to congratulate Tiger when he does..

If he plays as good as he did at Jack's tourney.. it's going to be one wild weekend. If he hits those fairways.. everyone will be TOAST...lol.

He is amazing.. and I so want him to win on Father's Day weekend.. that would be so cool.. Earl would be doing handstands in heaven.

U.S. Open Pairings

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Defending champion Tiger Woods will play the first two rounds of the U.S. Open with Padraig Harrington and Angel Cabrera, giving fans at Bethpage Black a chance to see the reigning champions of all four majors.

Harrington won the British Open and the PGA Championship last year, while Cabrera won the Masters in April.

U.S. Open officials decided against grouping the top three players in the world ranking, as they did last year at Torrey Pines. That would have put Woods with sentimental favorite Phil Mickelson for the second straight year, joined by Paul Casey.

Mike Davis, senior director of rules and competition for the USGA, told The Associated Press last week that a Woods-Mickelson pairing was an experiment, and it made sense to try it at Torrey Pines, where both played much of their junior golf.

Now need to check the scores for this weeks tourney...

John Daly looks terrific although I like his hair longer. The pants are great. Suppose to have lost 60 lbs with his surgery. Good for him.

I know.. I am so jazzed. Just watched 2000 at Pebble Beach when he won by mega strokes.. and just watched 2002 at Beth Page.. ESPN is playing them.. I can't wait for next week, it's going to be phenomenal... I can't wait to see what he does.. if he plays like he did at Jack's, it will be 2000 all over again.. so glad your back Toby.

Will start a thread tomorrow for the Open for all of us fans.
