Personally I think peterson is a huge flight risk......and I'm glad they have kept his bond high....
I am so disappointed that they are saying it isn't Lisa or Stacy's remains.....

I think some of these reports are confusing the autopsy results with the DNA test results that are coming in a week or two.

I agree about him being a flight risk...Let him get used to being locked up...IMO, he is going to be spending the rest of his life incarcerated and rightly so!mo

He was on Chicago news channels running his mouth - he's ruined MY Memorial Day weekend! - saying the prosecution will have to prove this allegation to keep DP in jail. Does he think the court is going to allow another hearing to argue a reduction in bail on the same thing the court has already ruled on? I think JB's goatee prohibits oxygen to his brain with some of the stupid things he says!
ETA: if they do force the prosecution to prove it and they do, JB will scream that releasing that information will taint the possible jury pool. Round and round we go JB!!!

Prosecutor: Drew Peterson tried to hire a hit man to kill third wife
(CNN) -- Former police officer Drew Peterson tried to hire a hit man to kill his third wife, a prosecutor in Will County, Illinois, said at a hearing Friday.
State's Attorney James Glasgow said during a bail reduction hearing Friday that Peterson tried to solicit a hit man for $25,000 to kill Kathleen Savio, press secretary Charles Pelkie said.

Guess Drew forgot to share this info with his attorney.

Thank goodness. I actually felt sick hearing it was neither.
Don't get me wrong, I wish Stacy or Lisa were alive and well somewhere in the world, but it's so unlikely. I just want closure for these families. And I felt like this so I can only just imagine how they must feel.

In 1789, the same year that the Bill of rights were introduced, Congress passed the Judiciary Act. This specified which types of crimes were bailable and set bounds on the discretion of a judge in setting bail. The Act states that all noncapital offenses are bailable and that in capital cases the decision to detain a suspect, prior to trial, was to be left to the judge.
The Judiciary Arct states, "Upon all arrests in criminal cases, bail shall be admitted, except where punishment may be by death, in which cases it shall not be admitted but by the supreme or a circuit court, or by a justice of the supreme court, or a judge of a district court, who shall exercise their discretion therein."
That is in answer to those who would think a judge does not have the authority to deny bail.

An article yesterday said it would be two weeks before DNA is done, though I think they can do it faster than that. The article I read said the head and arms were missing. Did anyone else see that?

Yes, that info was reported. There is only a partial skeletal torso and legs that were found, hence the need for DNA identification.

I don't care how cocky he acts....When the state puts a 20 million dollar bail on you (and it's upheld) that would give even the "cockiest" personality a big scare...After the bail hearing today, I'm sure he is thinking OMG I'm in serious deep, trouble!mo

I haven't followed this case as closely as I do another one, however, I found it very interesting at the very end of this article where Kathleen Savio's family speak of a $1 million life insurance policy that she had removed Drew's name and they didn't know if he knew she had removed it or not!

I have a gut feeling that Drew Peterson has killed people before and gotten away with it. I think that is why he is so comfortable offing his wives one at a time. I think he gets a charge out of killing and getting away with it, like a serial killer. He has a very warped personality and reminds me alot of Dennis Rader using his uniform and badge as a way to promote his superiority with his victims and then hide behind it. I tell you I think he has killed many people before he started on his wives.

Very interesting analogy..I have watched specials on Dennis Rader, and he is beyond horrifying, the matter of fact way he talked about killing..

Possibly he's thinking of how much more trouble he is going to be in, if they've found Stacy. And ya know, he's the only one who knows where she was put so if this is her, he's got to be real worried now. IMO
It sure sucks for him...do the crime and pay the time!

And if Drew Peterson ever had the oppportunity to cleanse himself and tell the truth, I would bet my last dollar that he would have the same demeanor. Cold as ice, calculating and almost as if he were talking about someone else or a movie he had seen. These two men are both chilling. They have alot in common.

Could be very possible he's done other horrific deeds.
It seems there's been a number of people/acquaintances (however close or far) that he knows that have either passed on and a few that are missing. One person that we didn't mention in the daily thread was Tom Morphey's wife who went missing over 10 years ago too.
I haven't seen anyone's life so full of events such as these.

If this is true and there are alot of people "gone missing" during the course of his adult life, then I would venture to guess that he has had plenty of practice making them "disappear without a trace" and this is the reason why he is so self assured when it comes to Stacy.
If Dianna (above) is right and he was able to plant guns to cover up or blame someone else for an on duty killing, then this explains alot, too. This guy just reminds me alot like Dennis Rader and also anyone who has ever watched the tv show The Shield will know that if you have people around you that are willing to lie for you, you can get away with anything.
