They may indeed have married in 2003, and it's always possible that they divorced and remarried each other.

On HLN they said neighbours apparently heard the father yelling at the girl.
It sounds like there were some issues in that home. It still boggles my mind how 12 year olds can easily access guns.

Something is setting off our young members of society and just like in domestic violence the first place to be looking is within the home.
I am not condoning what the child allegedly did or that the father did anything to this girl. All I am saying is there possibly could be problems in the home.
I hope the police are able to figure this out.

I totally agree. My opinion is that not all or even most reports of abuse are true, HOWEVER when you have had reports of abuse that cps said were "unfounded" and then the child kills the father...i rather think CPS was wrong. I don't condone killing your parent but if they are abusing children, well i guess i think a medal is more appropriate than a trial.
Certainly my first thought is to support the child.
IMO

Or it could be they are the bio parents but never married until 2003 for whatever reason. One or the other may have been married @ the time the girl was born. Or, maybe they just didn't see the need to get married until 2003.
Or, it could be he is the bio-dad and the mom is a step mom.
