That's good to hear!
Maybe when he returns, the Lauterbach forum will reopen.
More news here and on Lindell's blog:

I am hoping that one of the Ohio news stations will carry the trial live. I'll keep checking on that and post a link if that comes to pass. I am hoping that he will plead guilty and go off to prison like he should, but I'm certainly not holding my breath.

I think there was a report out by Dick McNeil saying he is pleading NOT GUILTY.....
I'm waiting to see what the status of his marriage to Christina is now after her birthday trip to Mexico.....
Just waiting Ms. Marcia.....
Justice for taking the LIFE OF MARIA AND HER CHILD will be delivered when the truth comes out. I'm still thinking the truth is between husband and wife somewhere, but I guess time will tell. jmo

I feel sorry for Cristina. Now that this case is coming to the forefront again, she will be trashed on the internet. This is not good for the child either. JMO
At least we all know now she was cleared of any wrong doing by the police and the DA.
I'm hoping Tru TV will cover this trial. Unfortunately in NC it could take a year or more to come to trial.
Justice for Maria and her child.

I am so anxious to get to the truth! I agree with Candy...it lies somewhere between husband and wife...I am confident it will come out.

It was reported that he was NOT the father of the unborn child...up until now, that was just a rumor...

I cannot wait either, baywench. I don`t think it will be a long wait if he is to be extradicted back on Friday. Someone has been working overtime with the Mexican government to get this done so quickly. I see his attorney is already asking for delays and criticising Sheriff Brown.

Hey it looks like it old home week!! Good to see some familiar "faces".
LK has dropped some more kibbles that CAL has left Mexico, according to his "sources".
http://onslowcrime.encblogs.com/?p=1384
I'll be even happier once CAL is back in US custody and on his way to NC.
On to the trial....

Hello there MW, it's good to see everyone straggling in here. IS NC still open file discovery? Also, did I read he was being turned over to the USMC or was that wishful thinking?
Well, if true, this certainly opens up a can of worms given that Cesar denied the sexual assault up until the end IIRC.
I'm skeptical on this part right now, but I know many people struggled with Mary using the word "OFFICER", so if McNeil gives it his best shot and Cesar pleads NOT GUILTY, it could be very interesting IMO.
Ultimately I hope for the truth to be known and WHOEVER IS RESPONSIBLE for the DEATH OF MARIA AND HER UNBORN CHILD needs to be held accountable.
I want to hear what Cesar's story was to his family and friends as well. I still think there's a stinker here besides Cesar. JMO tho.

As in suspects? Good to "see" you.
I remember when LK was dropping his crumbs about CAL not being the father a year ago, but nothing "concrete" was ever published until now via Faux and CNN from an AP report. Now I wonder what caused all the rage on 12/14?

Oh WOW the gang is here. Misssed you people.
It was reported last night on our local news that he will be brought to Tx. and then extradited to NC. More delay as I see it. UGH!

I wonder when the results of the test were known. Did that come from the autopsy and the testing being done at that time? If so, Cal may have just thought he was the father on 12/14. If so, he killed her for nothing.

CK, LTNS!
Yep NC is still open discovery. According to what Dewey said on the local news day before yesterday he'll give the files to McNeil once CAL is returned.
According to this am's article at JDNews, McNeil says he's going to file a motion to get the files.
"McNeil said once Laurean is returned to Onslow County, he can file a motion for prosecutors to turn over copies of all the evidence against his client."

Wow, I read through all of the posts and I'm stunned to learn that CAL is not the baby's father! I heard that rumor, of course, but dismissed it as being yet another twist and turn in this case that would amount to nothing.
Now I'm hoping for a trial. Maria and her baby need justice!
P.S. Good to see most of the old gang has stopped by to check in. Hugs and kisses to you all!!!

Good question.
I do remember Ciccarelli (NCIS) stating that they would wait until Laurean was back before running his DNA against Gabriel so who knows when the testing was done.

I had become convinced that in this case, justice delayed would certainly be justice denied. Then I read that news article and actually did a little jig of joy!
I will always remember the day of the funeral. My heart has not been that heavy since...and I hope it never is that heavy again, and all for someone I never knew. I think all of us took Maria into our hearts, along with her baby who never had a chance.

Cryme! I haven't heard that joke in years..heehee!
Wonder if they'll let him throw something over his head to keep our prying eyes from seeing him.

I believe they have an area at Miami International Airport that is very secure for comings and goings by the US Marshalls. IIRC all extraditions come through Miami. Don't hold me to that though. Hope it's just a short lay over. Process paperwork and onward to trial.
He WILL have to rest his arms some.

Of course the defense will only release for us to see what is beneficial to his client. This will come forward in motions and press conferences.
Trial by media. I wouldn't count on seeing all the files. The prosecution will not release anything for public consumption.
Also there could be a gag order requested.
This will more or less be a one way street until trial and all evidence comes out. We will have to continue being patient. On to trial.

Cesar Laurean is coming home to face the music... At last! It's about time he faces a judge and jury!!!
The sad part, is that as the murderer comes home, Maria's father is getting ready to leave next week for a 4 month deployment to Iraq.

it's been a while, but iirc, they went to mexico for a dna sample. am i mistaken?
i am so anxious to see what his attorney has to say. i know we'll never know the full truth, but there is so much more to this story than we know. also, i wonder if the mc will hand over any email communications to the DA?

If all this is true, I wonder what CAL must have thought when he found out the baby wasn't his and he could have gotten out of those rape charges scott free?

"WITN has confirmed from officials Cesar Laurean is in the United States and is expected at the Onslow County Courthouse Monday for a first court appearance. Officials will not release where Laurean will be held until that time."
But later in the same article there's this: "Onslow County District Attorney Dewey Hudson said he expected Laurean to arrive at the local jail Friday night."
http://www.witn.com/home/headlines/43064107.html
IMO, Dewey needs to learn to keep his mouth shut. He's beginning to look like he loves his "face time".
I don't care where they hold him, I'm just glad he's back and will be in court on Monday morning. It's been a long time coming.
