Obama's aunt has immigration hearing in April

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...taRIAD95V4ICO1

I wonder if she was anybody else, she would already be gone.

I hope she doesn't recieve special treatment but I wonder why her case is being re-opened long after being told to leave.

So we forget about ALL illegal immigrants(send no one back)and concentrate on the other problems. Sounds alot better then giving 1 illegal special treatment.

No no

Your link didn't work.. but I goggled it and found info on Forbes. I was thinking about this around inauguration time... was wondering what happened to her. Well this should make other illegals very happy to see that she's been given a freebie holding pattern..

Wonder if Boston Housing Authority will be reimbursed... I still can't understand how someone in the country illegally can qualify for housing.. beyond me..

An immigration judge stayed her deportation order on Dec. 17. The judge reopened her case requesting asylum on Dec. 30, and she has a hearing on April 1 in a Boston immigration court, Elaine Komis, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Executive Office of Immigration Review, said Monday.

Onyango traveled to Washington last week for her nephew's inauguration. News organizations observed her attending an inaugural ball with her immigration lawyer, Margaret Wong.

Thank you so much for this link! I do not post links because mostly I just mess them up.

Some response I received - Right? Being rude is never necessary. This is a message board with opinions................

This is interesting. The state can't even ask about a person's immigration status.

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...HE76QD95EDT303

"Onyango transferred to an apartment funded only by the state, which cannot ask about immigration status under the court order."

Funded by the state.. we have people losing their homes and apartments but yet we can house people that are in our country illegally... what's wrong with this picture.. what have they contributed to the state by paying taxes which is what funds some of these benefits to legal citizens... JUST ASKING...

It is strange to me that some of us are expected to obey the laws here in the USA, while others are given a pass or almost anything!
Guess you have to be a politician or a illegal to be given a pass.. who knew..

I don't think she should be given a pass. Doesn't sound like Obama thinks she should be given one, either. Back in November, right before the election when McCain was hoping this would hurt him, Obama said he didn't know his father's half sister was here and that she had to obey the law like everyone else.

I think if she was given a pass she wouldn't be having to attend any more hearings.

I think she will be given a pass because she is BO's aunt. Time will tell.

She received housing...........................does she work ????

How old is she?

Will she be on welfare?

SSI?

You've hit the nail right on the head.
If he has any other relatives here, and she gets to stay, watch them come out of the woodwork.

You can say that again!!! Just an isolated few who are looking for anything to bash and criticize Pres. Obama with. It's another one of those NON-ISSUES; as most of those types of posts are. IMO
Guess you think that illegal immigration is a non-issue.That's what this is about. Not bashing Obama.

An aunt is not a DISTANT relative.

that doesn't apply to all illegals, exceptions are made all the time, so this will be an exception - see no issues with that under these circumstances

You are very right Lisa.

A lot of people should educate themselves before they start spewing hate, because it only makes them look foolish. There is tons of information right here http://www.usimmigrationsupport.org/ and exceptions are made all the time!
