Thought it might be time for a new thread....

I'm still trying to research this case each night...it's literally driving me buggy. I've been trying to research all the surrounding residents near each of the assault locations, I've looked at property records, maps galore, phone & address records, divorce & civil records, couples who had babies in late '07, looking for those who have moved, criminal records, myspace & facebook pages, and I'm still searching the news for any new cases that might be similar....

I think one of the problems when crimes like this occur in college towns, is that a large number of the residents are only temporarily living there, attending school, graduating in May and then moving on to their home states or elsewhere. I'm not sure what else I can possibly research, but I am *not* going to give up.

One thing that sort of stands out to me in looking at all the maps, is the layout of the streets in Reno compared to the crime locations, especially with regard to the December victim's case. She was abducted from the parking lot behind her apartment which is actually on Terrace Dr in the 1400 block. Terrace Drive in the 1300 block toward 14th St (which is the intersection near where she was abducted) is one-way.....going toward her apartment. And, the street parallel to Terrace Dr is Hillside...which is one-way going in the opposite direction. So, I think it's very possible that the rapist could have been someone traveling on 14th St who turned onto Terrace Drive to make a block to get home to Hillside. (Hillside goes one way toward College Drive.) I'm just trying to think out of the box here I guess.

On another note, I was looking at the weather for each of the assault dates:

• November 13, 2007 5:55pm-6:05pm Tuesday
  Temperature was 44 degrees, overcast with a light rain, sunset was 4:26pm (twilight 6:01pm) & there was very little moonlight - so it was already dark when the young lady at 401 College was groped, knocked to the ground & kicked, & the perp ran off.
  
• December 16, 2007 2-2:30am Sunday morning (late Sat night)
  Temperature was 16 degrees, clear, a little bit of moonlight - victim was knocked unconcious, abducted, sexually assaulted & then driven back home to the 1430 area of Terrace Dr. (back side of 1425 N. Virginia)
  
• January 19, 2008 5:00am Sunday morning
  Temperature was 1.9 degrees, clear with a full moon - The perp tried to break into the December victim's home
  
• January 20, 2008 4:30-9:00am Sunday morning
  Temperature was 5 degrees, overcast, freezing fog, with a full moon, snow started falling at 7:56am - Brianna Denison was abducted...and murdered
  

What's perplexing to me is with regard to the December victim's case...It was only 16 degrees, yet the perp wasn't even wearing a coat. And, the initial report of her case stated that the perp was wearing a Raider's T-shirt.

Later however, the Reno police reported it was a red jersey-like short sleeved shirt with another long-sleeved shirt underneath.

I know that it was reported police went back to the victim to try & get a better description of the suspect & his vehicle, and that's when they updated their report. But, I'm wondering if maybe the victim's initial impressions should be looked at more closely. I mean, people's memories change with time, and with other events influencing those memories, it could be that the newer descriptions really aren't as accurate as the initial ones.

Anyway, those are just some of my ramblings/questions for the night.

There is a serial rapist in the Columbus, OH area right now, who has assaulted at least 7 women just since June. I wonder if Reno Police have compared DNA with Columbus?

What is the building on the corner of College Drive and North Virginia? It's parking lot faces Terrace Drive.

I believe I posed that question before and I apologize.

I agree that the proximity of the Reno Attacks bring us back to mapping the area. I know many of us have discussed this. Politigal I appreciate your knowledge of the attacks and mapping.

I myself think mapping is very important to this case. It is all too evident that the KILLER/RAPIST either lives or works in this vicinity? As Politigal mentioned it is a college town, which does in fact make residency harder to trace.

I think in all honesty it all comes down to the previous victim's encounter with this POS. She may NOT even know him? Why does he know her?

He stalked her and tried to break into her home the NIGHT Bri was killed.
His inability to attack this woman, for a SECOND time, sent him to the open door at Mackay Court.
He was enraged.

I was thinking more last night about the November victim (at 401 College.) Police said she had been walking home to her apartment from the university. She was accosted in between some parked cars as she walked thru the parking lot. He groped her, they scuffled, he kicked her & ran off on foot, dropping the Trojan condoms. According to weather for that day, it was already dark at that time (approx 6pm.)

I'm really curious - was this guy planning on raping her right there in the parking lot, since apparently the condoms were in hand? Or do you think he planned to drag her to his own apartment nearby? or drag her to his vehicle nearby? With the condoms being dropped, it's almost as if he was planning on doing something right there in the parking lot.

Could this have been his first feeble attempt at assaulting women?

No, he wasn't successful with the Nov victim...they fought & she was knocked to the ground & he kicked her and ran off.

The December victim was raped.

I am having trouble with locating the info. on the November attack. Or rather I should say the reports contain conflicting information. I believe it was an intented kidnapping. I also believe she was sexually assaulted / gropped.
