Illinois House passes "Drew Peterson law"
http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/...passes-dr.html
This law would allow hearsay evidence in a first degree murder trial if the pros could prove the defendant killed the witness to prevent testimony. The law had already been passed by IL senate.

I am just looking at it from all sides. I just don't want anyone accused for first degree murder getting by with just a slap on the hands. I think we may see this law being utilized in the near future. I just don't want someone getting off on a technicality.
Wasn't there a case in the news in the last few months that got off on not being able to confront his accuser.

I don't see how this bill passed. Didn't they know about Giles?

No vpo...NOTHING until he made an effort to harm her physically. Would this law further protect her if she was in their state??

FYI: Over on the Amber Alerts forum here, there has been 3 bodies/remains found in Wisconsin. They have yet to identify the remains.
Could be related to this case or Stebic or not? Too early to tell, but it is interesting with these remote finds.
