MORNING Joe drops "F" bomb

On 11/10/08, Joe Scarborough dropped the "F" bomb in a most casual manner on MSNBC. Didn't even appear that he knew what he did.

Mike Barnacle almost spit out his dentures.
Mika tried to shut him up.
Chuck Todd ignored the whole thing.

Hilarious.

I watch Morning Joe because for me, it's like looking at a basket of snakes.

Wonder if FCC will sanction ?? Thought there was a 7-second delay after Imus...guess not.

Can be accessed on y-tube.

I lived in FL during the "election" of 2000 & 2004, and all to familiar with his passive/agressive personality on tv since then.

Please do us all a favor MSNBC: Give Joe the Heave Ho![/QUOTE]

Would be quite happy to see Joe get the heave-ho.

The way he berates Mika, I'm surprised her daddy doesn't smack him when he appears on the show.

Now thinking of Pat Buchanan. Sort of senile in a blustery way. Fun to see him froth.

You may ask why I tune in. Heck, I even watch Fox "news" once in awhile. Just to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Thanks flere. That was very nice of you.

I think you nailed it. Cast iron stomach is needed to digest some of the hyperbole and outright lies that pass for news and opinion.

Miss the olde folks like Huntley-Brinkley, Cronkite, the young Dan Rather and Tim Russert.

When those folks told us, "That's the way it is", one had the feeling that really was it.

There is a coarseness in the news media perpetuated by fragmentation and the 24-hour news cycle.

You have to watch your health....take the news in small doses, along with some Pepto.

LOL - I actually caught it live Monday morning and couldn't believe my ears. And I think he was clueless that he just said it. Just rolled out of his mouth without even a blink of the eye.The rest of the people that were on the panel were looking at each other with an "I don't believe he just did that" look. It was priceless. AMEX should use it in a commercial. I did hear a "kinda" apology later after he realized what he did. Said something like "like the execs here at MSNBC never use that word - or people in Congress". It was lame in any event.

Any news from anyone whether he's going to be fined or censored? I don't care for Morning Joe but I do like Mika. I wouldn't be surprised if she replaces him some day.

Hiya Miz...... Tuned in this morning as I sleep weird hours.

In the introduction, Mika put her hand over Joe's mouth and kept it there until she finished intro.

Now, if she would just keep it that way....

Hi lingling....It was a stunning moment.

Barnical's reaction reminded me of the look a steer gets when zapped with a stun gun.

I'm no prude by any means...quite the opposite, in fact.

Just wondering what the standards are. They were quick enough to kick Imus for his misspeak. Nothing for profanity..?? Will see.

I think Joe's screw up, though inappropriate for morning tv, was just a stupid slip of the tongue.

I didn't really agree with MSNBC's decision about Imus, but at least there was thought behind his stupid words, whereas Joe didn't even realize what he had said.

I'm thinking about it as the difference between involuntary manslaughter and murder. (probably not the best comparison, but it's what came to mind)

LOL Bearwds - I'm no prude myself. But I was astounded when I heard it said by Joe. And he really did look like he know thatthat he just did that - it just rolled out of his mouth. It was sooooo funny. I think he should be sensored just a lil bit what with the new regulations by the FCC after Janet Jackson had her little wardrobe malfunction. Its all too funny IMO. I think Ol Joe is in shell shock with the election and all. I think Imus got a bad deal on that one but he paid a big price for it. Lost alot of customers and is climbing his way back, although I know longer listen to him since I am not working anymore and commuting an hr. each way. (another story)

After Jackson, wasn't a 7-second delay instituted by MSNBC..??

I heard that Jackson's "malfunction" was TIVO'd more than any other event in history. Part of restitution was to institute a delay. Also paid a fine if I recall.

Somebody was asleep at the switch when Joe let loose his bomb.

Fine him or sanction. Maybe he will think a bit before he speaks.

Oh...I forgot we are talking about Joe...

Was on our local TV station this morning. A mutual decision between Joe & MSNBC is that they now have a 7 second delay on their broadcast. None of the other shows have that (yet)

i saw it live and in my opinon he truly meant to say "F" -u. not the whole word and the mind jut shot it out of his mouth. the reactions WERE priceless.and he lookd shocked when he realized he said it. i do think that this is different than someone TRYING to say it..vs a slipup. small fine? whatever. to me the innuendos on primetime tv sitcoms regarding 3somes, sex toys ect are worse and more coarsening.

I don't think he meant to say it either. You notice that the first time he uses a form of the word he says F ing. I think he thought he was safe then and let his guard down and then forgot to do it again with the next one.
What is so funny is the fear in his voice when he says his wife is going to kill him. What is that all about? If I were to slip up and say something inappropiate at work, my first thought would not be what my spouse would say, but my boss. Is their some story about his wife that I am not aware of?
