You get no arguement from me!
Personally, I think thug doesn't even come close to what I think he really is.

this man was at one time a very respected person and well thought of by anybody that had followed his career. his fall from grace was self induced. i sat thru his entire trial 13 years ago and can clearly remember the day the jury came in with a not guilty verdict. i cried. i agree there were alot of things done wrong in that trial but in my heart of hearts i feel this person on trial got away with 2 murders. this is just my opinion. all some of us can hope for is that this jury will find this man guilty. it's simply time he pay for all the times he has hurt others. i for one have a hard time even saying this person's name. i still see the faces of the three familys he destroyed. jmo

"Run of Bad Luck". That usually means something like - losing one's job due to downsizing, having monstrous medical bills, losing one's home due to foreclosure.
Orenthal is totally responsible for what he has become. He had a great opportunity to make a success of his life. But he is a ruthless thug who thinks he is above the law.

Yeah, can you imagine? What a stroke of bad luck for O.J. for losing the civil trial only because he was "falsely accused" according to that poster. Little does that poster know how many crimes O.J. has committed since that time. Man, such bad luck for O.J....NOT
imo

Hi bookclubfan
I'll bet that poster Yerka1's comments are facetious. Noone in their right mind would state that OJ Simpson was a top notch actor! His acting since he murdered 2 people has been pathetic.

I sure hope Justce is served this time..even with the Civil Conviction..and responsibility for the deaths , followed by a judgement against him..with the tip off..OJ was able to hide his assets..which we have now heard about. If OJ's excuse for liberating all those items at gunpoint along with his pack of goons was to retrieve HIS Property??? I find that rediculous..as actually this property actually belongs to the Goldman's and the Browns's by extension of the Judgement against OJ!!
How can anyone get away with such a premis?..As to OJ's thug mentality.he has indeed surrounded himself with anyone and everyone who he can control, manipulate and drops them like a hot potatoe and rolly eyes..jokes and lies about his role..HUMMMMM..Me thinks he sees himself as a "DON" of the sleazy side of society..and those sucked into "his family" should have known better..they are like "Pons" in OJ's "Games of Life" He gets others to do his dirty work..and yes, I even wonder just how far his legal reps have gone to hide inculpating facts!

No, no, no, at no time was he found "completely innocent" as you've stated above. He was found not guilty, which is not at all the same thing. In our courts a not guilty verdict does not mean innocent.

Just curious, what movie made OJ Simpson a top notch actor in your view? That assessment of him said it all!

Also, about him being a thug... He simply reverted to his younger years when he ran with thugs during his teens. His football talents helped him rise above it, but, he couldn't maintain the front of respectability and when consumed by burning rage, he took the knife and committed the murders, leaving behind the life he could have had.
I don't even like to look at him, especially when he's wearing those blue contact lens. To me, thos blue eyes magnify his killer personna.

He is truly a parasite!! and sucks the life out of those who enable him!!
The only reason OJ has gotten away with so much is because of #1 MONEY..#2 LEGAL COUNCIL #3 ABLITY TO USE people and the system #4 SILLY GROUPIES who seem to believe his BS!!

i did forget to ask u this question... did u ever look in the faces of the family's of nicole or ron? just wonder if u have children and how u would feel had they been slaughtered as these two young people were? imo u couldn't have watched the whole trial and really feel about this person as u say u do.

All I can say is goodness gracious..I only hope you have never ever held any prejudgice thoughts in your life..even back ..maybe as a youngin..in your 20s ..hummmmmmmm and maybe what really counts at the end is just how you have conducted your life..not with your off the wall opinion in a given point in time..YIKS!!! You walk in those shoes.and maybe you will get it!!
I dont make judgemens on anyones thought..or beliefs..it is how they apply those thoughts that count. In a way you are equating Mark Fuhrman with the likes of Klu Klux Klan menatility..Purity of thought belongs to saints and the almighty..and unfortunately we have been exposed to MANY prejudices as children..and thankfully most of us have grown beyond..So OJ was able to CAPITALIZE..so be it..but dont mistaken stories or spins of same information as actual TRUTH..and given 12 years has passed..the damage of his not guilty verdict will forever reverberate throught decades to come..DNA was in it's infancy at that time..and today..given the factual Forensics ..there would be a much different view of the evidence..BUT ITS WATER under the bridge..but not forgotten.
The real shame is that instead of OJ seeing the "Light" with his 2nd chance..he chose to see the 'DARK" and take advantage..lie, extort, and hide behind his big buck lawyers..I have absolutely NO RESPECT for this maggot!
LMS
BtW..Prejudice takes many forms..and to put your faith in a questionable example of virtue and preach his Sainthood rings rather hollow in my ears

In regard to the Browns and Goldman’s; I lost all respect for both families when they refused to stand for the jury as they were leaving the courtroom after the verdict was read. One member of the brown family said aloud “I’m not standing for these people” and Kim Goldman said “murderer, murderer, as she was leaving the courtroom”

can u honestly say u would have stood up and thanked them or shown them any respect? to this day each one of those jurors have said if they had been given the info that the jurors got in the civil trial they would have found him guilty. u have your opinion and i have mine. but do you honestly think he has done all the things he has done since his aquittal because the majority of the public have turned their backs on him? i think not....but that's my own personal belief and just as you , i'm entitled to that. you have a good night.

When a person's mindset is frozen in time, even if the perp looks that person straight-on and assures that he is guilty... said person would explain to him he is wrong.
I cannot comprehend being on the side of a heinous murderer because he is of my race, which is Caucasian. If a killer is Caucasian, he is a killer and his race is of no consequence. Ever. If a Caucasian murders anyone of any other race, he/she is still a murdering killer. He is cut no slack, in any way because of his race.

you are so right ! it makes no difference if one is purple, red, black or white. if they have done something wrong they should be punished. i have never thought of this case in terms of race. this man's attorney turned it into a race thing. his game worked , only to cause more heartbreak for the ones left to grieve. IMO, he did this man no favor. he has only gone on to continue his evil ways and hurt others. i often wonder about nicole's two chidren and how they are. chidren have a tough time in this world such as it has become. but to grow into adulthood always wondering if the man that fathered them actually killed their mother..... all they have witnessed since that time is to watch this man continue to go the wrong way. let's just hope they are happy and well adjusted. it's too bad they have to go through another trying time over this man.

I respect your position and your posts. I don't know that I agree that OJ was "falsely accused of murder" because there was so much evidence pointing to him. I agree with the verdict in the first case but also agree with the verdict in the second. The first case was the prosecution's to win or lose and they lost it by not playing it straight from the beginning. LAPD lost credibility with me in that case - a white woman. OJ wasn't a suspect when Furhman went over the wall at Rockingham...yeah, right. I made up my mind that nothing that was found or learned at Rockingham should have been allowed in that case as evidence because LAPD lied through their teeth to get that search warrant. If the prosecution is going to prove somebody guilty, they need to do it withing the rules of our laws. While I can understand how the first jury arrived at their decision I also think the second jury got it right based on the evidence they were given under civil rules of law. The only way the murder affects the current trial is if it matters whether the items being taken were or were not OJ's. Clearly most of the items at one time belonged to OJ, but the finanicial ramifications of the second trial - statements sworn to under oath as a result of the second jury award regarding what OJ did and did not own - may come into play. If he goes down for this, I hope the decision is reached based on the merits of this case alone. I have a lot of faith in this judge that she will do everything in her power to be sure that happens.

If he does go to prison, he will probably enjoy the adulation he'll receive from other prisoners. I think the other murderers will look up to him and other hardened criminals will also. He will almost have an instant gang of admirers crowding around wanting to run errands for him.

Apparently that's all he's ever been outside of being able to run with a football and some coach giving him a break. When Nicole and Ron were murdered I was thinking how unusual it is for someone in their mid 40's to suddenly do such a horrible crime. Then we learned he had been a thief as a teenager.
After the murder trial I predicted he'd be in trouble again so this doesn't surprise me. I'm just glad he didn't kill anybody again. The recipe for disaster existed in that hotel room for sure. eek. He's a dangerous man and should be put away for this crime. I hope the jury does well.

Wherever he goes he’s treated like a pariah, an outcast, someone to be feared, even though he was acquitted by a jury of his peers. that same jury who was sequestered for 266 days and sat there patiently in the courtroom for 8 months of testimony, and yet, who decided after a mere 3 ½ hours that O J Simpson was completely innocent.
If O J Simpson became a thug it’s because you and I, and countless others made him that way

Are you for real? When you are aquitted it does not mean you are innocent, that is why they DONT say that, it means the case was not proven beyond reasonable doubt to the jury.I know there will always be people who want to marry him and be with him,and think of him as a hero, that is sad.

I'M ON OJ's SIDE
This case should have never gotten this far; however, since it has I believe OJ has a very good chance of being acquitted after listening to Yale Galanter's opening statement. It was powerful! It put a whole new spin on what "really" happened. OJ was not after sports memorabilia that was supposedly the Goldman's BUT after his own property that had been stolen from his house years ago. I don't blame OJ. It was his and he deserved to get it back. He has an excellent lawyer and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for OJ. D.McGrath

cool beans............so let me get this straight. you feel like if someone has your stuff you can go into their house or hotel room with a gun to get it back?
the other 99.99999999% of America can't do that
The stuff was NOT stolen from his HOUSE. it was in a storage unit that he didn't pay for. Opening statements they can LIE.

In my opinion OJ Simpson thinks he is above the law. Regardless of his guilt or innocence in the Simpson/Goldman murders - this man believes he is well within his rights to bust into someones room and threaten their lives because things don't go his way.
I just hope he is held accountable this time for his despicable actions.

He is not being tried for murder here, and hopefully the jury will do their job this time ... render a verdict on the evidence.
OJ murdered Nicole and Ron IMO ... but, I think this whole thing may have been a set-up ... I hope not, because if it was, it will come out.
I missed opening statements .. are they finished? How did they go?
TIA

In regard to the Browns and Goldman’s; I lost all respect for both families when they refused to stand for the jury as they were leaving the courtroom after the verdict was read. One member of the brown family said aloud “I’m not standing for these people” and Kim Goldman said “murderer, murderer, as she was leaving the courtroom”

I wouldn't have stood for them either. I don't respect that jury.

And as for Jury Nullification, I believe their decision was more along the line of Group Think, at some point they simply decided "is this all the prosecution has"

It's preposterous to say OJ was tried by a jury of his peers - he was tried by fellow black people which is not the same thing. I hope he gets what's coming to him this time.
