GREAT FALLS, Mont. - The body of a toddler found in the trunk of his mother's car may have been there for months as she drove around town, evaded questions about him and was even arrested, police said.

Isn't that just awful. Sadly this is not unheard of. In California some years ago a couple kept their murdered daughter's body in the trunk of their Mustang for more than two years while driving around town in the vehicle. I looked for that story when the Caylee Anthony case came up but couldn't find it. Another woman (now deceased from heroin) had murdered two of her pre-teen children one at a time and stored them in a storage locker for more than two years. Unreal

sigh. Thanks for posting this GentleBreze. How sad. She lies thru her teeth saying the boy's here or there, changing her story all the while and says it was an accident when they finally find him in the trunk of her towed vehicle.

The lying is a giveaway for sure. Anyone who would murder their own child would have no trouble lying about it afterword. ugh. Sickening people. ETA: Can you imagine the trauma to the other siblings. This woman had an 11 year old daughter in the vehicle with her when she was arrested. OMG. That poor child.

On parents who murder their children. I never will get over the jury believing Scott Peterson didn't mean to murder poor little Connor. He knew he was there. I believe that's a prime motivator in him murdering poor Laci when he did, before Connor had a chance to be born alive. My heart sank when I heard the verdict of only 2nd degree unintentional homicide on that poor little innocent baby who never had a chance to live. sob

How awful. And no one was looking for the poor little guy. I wonder what the little girl may have witnessed?

It makes you wonder what is going through a parents mind when they kill their own child.
IMO, there is no worse offender than a parent who kills their own child.

Yes, Adalena, it is obvious that this woman (I refuse to call her "mother") had no compassion even to see her baby had a final resting place. She just abandoned him in death just like she tossed him away in life.

My heart breaks for all these children that never even had a chance.

Heartbreaking, and sadly far more common than people realize. Just being a child is one of the most dangerous thigs a human can do in this world. Little ones make such easy targets for the heartless, cruel things that parade as parents and friends.
May the siblings of this poor baby find homes of love and security.

hmm- really makes me wonder how there was no smell coming from the trunk that anyone would notice

Quote:
Police had no reason to believe there was anything of evidentiary value in the trunk," McDermott said.

Small, ManyWhiteHorses' aunt, said the officers could not have known to search the trunk.

"Why would they?" she said.

It says he was wrapped in a blanket and a garbage bag. Wonder if the bag was thick enough to contain any odor?

It must have been. Also, this is Montana, where the weather is very different than say, Florida, for example, where there it is has sweltering heat and humid days most of the time.

When I read this article I thought it was eerie that I had just read another link provided by a poster about Caylee's case, talking about how these mothers who murder their children often will wrap their bodies in blankets and put them in plastic.

It is so hard to even comprehend that children like this were living in the most dangerous place on Earth for them.........With their parents. And I have no doubt probably by the weekend we will hear about more innocent lives lost.

She'll get away with it. Most moms that kill their kids get little or no punishment.

I still can't believe Andrea Yates is free.

Yates isn't "free". She'll never be free. She's always going to be in a mental institution, where she should have been LONG before she killed her children.

IMVHO, the real killers of those babies were her husband who used her like she was some kind of a baby factory, her family who quite literally used her up and spit her out, the psychiatrist who was MIS-treating her and should be brought up on charges of malpractice, and that horrible excuse of an evangelist who messed with her already fragile and unstable mind.

I think Andrea was legally insane when she killed her children and I have no doubt she will be forever kept in a mental facility, as she should be.

You are totally wrong the prisons have their share of mothers who kill their children they are even in there because their boyfriends killed their children. Susan Smith is another case.

And imo that is exactly where they deserve to be. Many of those women knew their children were being abused and allowed it to happen ...even participating.

From the last stats I have read the mothers and fathers are running neck and neck when it comes to murdering their children.

Just this week there was an article of another mother who starved her 2 year old daughter to death. She weighed 14 pounds when she died. This mother had a 15K insurance policy that she had taken out shortly before the little girl died.

Her punishment? PROBATION for life...no jail or prison time.

It just infuriates me. I do not give a flip if this woman wants to call it an accident or what...........fact is, she stuffed this child in the trunk and went on about her business! When something of this sort happens, I think the person should be charged with 1st degree murder because of her actions. I honestly do.

GB, what is wrong with these judges? This is a dead child at her mothers hands. This is an agonizing and cruel death. Why isn't it murder and the sentence LWOP?

I just do not understand this sentence.

That's horrible! Clearly she's lieing and murdered the child. To think that she not only drove around with the body but even did nothing when it was sent to a wrecker.

I sure hope she does not get away with little time by claiming it was an accidental death!

This is just horrible. I can't believe a mother could behave in this manner.

Spyder,
It is not always the mans fault when there are big families. Some of us concider kids blessings and actually love to be in the presence of children. My husband wanted to stop at 4 and I begged him for the other two. But I'm sure people felt sorry for me that my mean husband forced me to have alot of children.

If you are not 100% sure Rusty made her have all those kids, then you are spreading gossip for your own gain, and karma does happen.

As I said this woman will probably get off on a mental excuse. If your mental, then give your kids up. Oh wait I forgot, they probably need them for welfare benefits, so it wouldn't benefit them to give them to someone who cares.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,426464,00.html

Cascade County Attorney Brant Light filed an affidavit in District Court on Monday outlining his argument for charging ManyWhiteHorses. The document builds the prosecutor's case on police interviews with the defendant and her relatives, arrest records and an X-ray of the child's body.
