I saw that 5 prisoners have exhausted their appeals so if executions are resumed they'd be the first to go. How many are on death row in CA? Can't help but wonder what old Scott Peterson thinks about this.

Oh, I'm sure he's in fantasyland, dreaming about living in prison for years and years, just like the Manson clan.
This issue is different, they didn't commute anyone's sentence.
That won't stop Scotty from dreamin', though.

What's up w/Calif. anyway? I couldn't access the link, so I don't know why the backup. Maybe Cali could take a lesson from Texas- and Florida! I imagine Scott will live 20+ more years, easy. [/*]

He said that?? I missed that one. An idiot. A murdering idiot.

I agree with you, gagirl, No maybe about it. Cali needs to enforce the death penalty laws that were re-enacted. Voted in by the people. Why are they not doing this?

He's such an odd duck to say the least. I can't get over his comment to the guard when first arriving. Guard asked him if he was hungry and he said he was too excited to be at the famous San Quentin prison to eat right then. paraphrase. My husband heard that on the news and told me about it.
What is he thinking? Not much is my estimate. Talk about a weirdo. He takes the prize.
The number is more than 600 if you can believe that. It's in there somewhere. I googled it but haven't the fortitude to go thru all the stories to find it.

I do think that's the word he used it was said. My husband mentions it once in awhile. It's impossible to know what to think about such a person that would say a remark like that.

They don't take them in succession that they entered death row at. It depends on their particular appeals cases I've read. But it's been a while ago. I've heard them talk about it on tv documentaries and such too. I don't understand how it works.
They go thru an appeals process and when their appeals are used up, they execute them within a certain amt of time after that. I don't know who sets the date.

He's listed on California dept of corrections condemned inmate list. It lists him by last name first. Over to the far right on him it says "no action" under the header "court actions". Geez, he's been there since '05 and nothing's been done regarding his long list of appeals yet. He could possibly die of old age there at this rate. Course they halted all executions nationwide for a while that recently got resumed. In name at least.

I don't think Arnold's going to let that happen.
There's a lot of anger because the Manson perps are still alive and clamoring for release.

I hope Charles Ng and Richard Ramirez are close to their final "date". Those guys have been on death row for years. Scott still has MANY appeals in front of him, unfortunately.

I was pretty "jazzed" up about his going there, too. I still am. I wonder if he is.

I find it really unbelievable that some of these men have been on death row for so many years. I saw one that was 1980!! Several more from the mid 90's.

And as a Canadian, rather embarrasing. Our serial killer Karla walks free.

WOULD YOU BELIEVE? The appeals process doesn't even start until 5 (THAT'S FIVE!) years after sentencing.
Add another 10-15 years to that before Scott gets his date with the Devil.
15-20 or so years is a long time down the road.
I'm sure as it gets close to NEEDLE TIME, and the many appeals are rejected, that Scott will change his "jazzed up" tune.
