Palimony and or Common Law Marriage

I wanted to discuss palimony and or common law marriage. I was researching the web and came across several items of interest. My question is that if Ray was going to retire and really didn't want to be with PF any longer, would she be entitled to some of his retirement money and other money? If Ray walked away and is presumed dead, woud she be entitled to anything else?

Another thought came to me that maybe that is why RG didn't put his name on things with PF. He could say it was a gift. When he disappeared it was tax day. Tax day coming up maybe made him think of what would happen if he didn't want to be with PF. So it would be a good way for him to get out of the situation if he was never found again.

PF seemed to think that he might be coming home. Did he tell her that he was having mixed feelings about their relationship?

Yes PF stated somewhat to the effect that they he wanted her to retire and spend time with him. How do we know how the conversation went. She might have said. What about me and feeling awkward, he might have said well you retire and be with me when he really was just put on the spot.

Since hearing her talk to me about what her ex husband had done to her, she would have been furious at Ray for wanting to leave.

I know that this post won't go over well with the family or people that are trying to make one believe that Ray didn't disappear because of PF. I think this is just as good as scenario as any other. Walk away because he didn't want to spend the rest of his life with PF. He may have been hiding some of his money so that she couldn't touch it.

Only Lara knows the answers as to whether she has spoken to her father or not.

In my scenario, Ray have might have put the book on Mark Smith's desk. Or maybe someone did him in because of circumstances.

Just because there is a law does not mean it happens.

What about the women out there who have been married dozens of years, fighting to get a pittance from their marriage and it doesn't happen that way, that easily, if at all!
