Police seek leads about woman's disappearance

Updated: Feb 14, 2008 10:12 PM CST

Police searching for south end woman missing since Feb. 9

By Lindsay English

LOUSIVILLE (WAVE) -- The search for a woman that has been missing from her south end home since Saturday continues. Metro Police say they are not yet calling this a homicide investigation, but WAVE 3's Lindsay English reports the homicide unit is shadowing the case.

Investigators say for 48 year old Patricia Hubbard to go missing so suddenly is so completely out of character for her that they are taking a closer look and considering every scenario that may have led to her disappearance. It's been five days now since there's been any sign of Hubbard.

"Mr. Hubbard last saw his wife at their home on Dunkirk. Apparently, he left for a little while and when he returned home, she was not there," says Lt. Barry Wilkerson with LMPD's Homicide Unit.

That was Saturday, but as of Thursday, there's still no sign of her.

"Again those circumstances dictated it was kind of out of character for her to be missing just gone so again that's why we're looking into it," says Wilkerson.

Another red flag -- a history of domestic violence with her husband, Bradley Hubbard. Patricia filed Emergency Protection Orders against him in 2000, 2004 and 2006. In 2007, another woman filed a protection order against Bradley Hubbard.

"Obviously, with him being the last one that had seen her alive, things would point to Mr. Hubbard. We have interviewed him. Again, we'll keep an open mind and look at every possible situation," says Wilkerson. "At this point, we are not sure exactly where she might be or if she is in any dangers. So that's why we are keeping a very open mind, looking at everyone as a person of interest at this point."

If you have any information that could help locate Patricia Hubbard, call the Metro Police Crime Tip Line at 574-LMPD.

These cases are becoming way too commonplace. Woman missing . . . husband/boyfriend last saw her. History of domestic violence and emergency protection orders doesn't sound like this is going to turn out well. Hope I'm wrong and she just took off to get away from him. Praying for her safety.
