Police: No Sign of Missing California Woman Who Vanished in St. Maarten

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Police have found no trace of an Orange County woman reported missing almost a week ago in the Dutch Caribbean territory of St. Maarten.
Officers say 49-year-old Leta Lynn Cordes of Mission Viejo was last seen walking into a casino alone Friday night. Her husband reported her missing the next day.
Police dogs were brought in to aid the search but failed to pick up a sign of the woman. Police say Cordes lived in St. Maarten, but friends and relatives told a California newspaper she had been traveling to the island the past 10 years.
A friend, Cary Honstein, says Cordes and her husband returned from dinner before she left to gamble at the casino.
