A Missing Man

The aunt of a Kanawha County resident who has been missing since late October says she fears the worst may have happened to her nephew.
Twenty-eight year old Shawn Louis Smith of Cross Lanes was last seen by his cousin on October 29th. He had told his family he was going to spend the night at his cousin's house in Charleston, then would be leaving town to go to Dallas on a business trip the next day.
"We're starting to wonder if we're going to find him or if he's alive. His mom is so distraught, it's not even funny," says Shawn's Aunt Rhonda Hill.
Hill says they tried to contact Smith through his cell phone for around two weeks after he left town. After not having any success getting in touch with him, they contacted the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department.
Hill says officials with the Sheriff's Department told the family he had probably left town on his own and to just wait it out. She says when the holidays began to come around and he did not contact anyone, their level of concern reached a new level.
"Thanksgiving came and he didn't call his mom, and no matter where he's been in his life, a holiday comes around, if he can't go to his momma's house, he calls her," says Hill.
Hill says the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department told her, since Smith was in Charleston the last day he was seen, it was Charleston Police matter. She says since then Charleston Police detectives have been handling the case, but nothing has developed.
Hill says she does not know of any reason Smith would leave town on his own. She says he was happy living in Kanawha County and made some friends since moving here from Indiana. Smith still has family in Indiana, and Illinois, but no one from either area has heard from the man.
Smith is 5'11 tall, 150-pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. The family is asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Charleston Police Department.

Like in all these cases, I just hope he is missing on his own will, and is just taking a break
