I heard this on the local radio station. They are organizing a search for him this afternoon.

I'm always afraid to hear the endings of stories that begin with someone leaving a bar alone early in the morning. Please let us know if there are any updates. Are there any rivers nearby?

There's a Facebook group for him too, someone just sent me a link to it so I came here to see if anything had been mentioned about him. According to that site, today's searches hadn't turned up any potential leads.
Hoping this one comes home safely!

This case sounds a lot like Justin Gaines and they are only several hours away from each other.

And Brian Shaffer...
So he didn't come back to the bar to get coat and credit card? If that was his only credit card, he would have been without any means

dulcinea, yes they have video of him leaving the bar....and that was the last he was seen.
According to the one article, his Mother has cancer and is scheduled for surgery this week. She said he called her everyday. This does not sound like a young man that would just take off.
Praying for a good outcome.....and praying for his Mother's surgery to go well.

I just read about this on CNN's website and came here to see if it had been posted.
This is getting so scary. All of these young men going missing after leaving bars.
Kyle I hope you are safe. Prayers for Kyle's mom.

Re: Kyle Fleischmann, Charlotte,NC
I'm watching LKL's repeat show and he mentioned this missing person tonight.
This is just so sad, this rash of young men missing.
Good thoughts go out for Kyle and his family. Hope they have resolution soon.

A quote from the article..." Dick Fleischmenn said there's been no activity on Kyle's cell phone or his bank account, and he had no reason to run off anywhere. His mother just found out she has cancer and has surgery scheduled for this week. Kyle had been calling her everyday."

The only news reported from yesterday's search was that several girls came forward with cell phone pictures taken of Kyle the night of his disappearance; they mentioned him possibly going to a party at a Holiday Inn. The website is asking for local people who know anything about such a party to come forward.
I hope they find him--alive--soon.

In response to the message I received regarding which Holiday Inn they think Kyle went to - someone on Facebook made that connection as well, I think they're looking into the other local Holiday Inns as well as the one closest to the club. Unfortunately they say that the Holiday Inns are not being especially cooperative and that so far he hasn't shown up on any surveillance videotapes. Thanks for your input though, the more information we have, the better!

I noticed that also and are you aware there was another young guy that disappeared from Alabama just a few days before Gaines? His name was Ben Stanford and sadly they found his body, I think yesterday, and his car on the side of I-20 west of Atlanta.
You have a 17 year old guy missing and found dead from Alabama, then another 18 year old missing from Atlanta a few days later, and then a 24 year old missing from here in Charlotte a day or two after that and the circumstances of the latter two are eerily similar, plus the I-85 and I-20 corridor connects all of these places within just a couple of hours.
It really makes you wonder. I sure hope we don't have a psycho nut case stalking the southern corridor down here.
I just feel really bad for these guys' families and friends. Why are there people out there that cause so much pain for other people?

I'm with you I sure hope we don't have a nut job running around here!
I live in Charlotte in fact about 10 minutes from Uptown and the Buckhead Saloon, where he was last seen.
The news is starting to report the similarities between the cases of these missing young men.
I just hope he will be found soon.

I work in the Hearst Tower right across the street from Buckhead, that's what drew my interest in this case. Some of my coworkers and friends have drank there many weekend nights and Uptown is generally pretty safe which is what makes this so disturbing. I have been amazed at the amount of people that have been out there searching and stuff. They meet up every day in front of Buckhead and there are fliers posted everywhere. It's amazing what this guy's family and friends have been able to organize, no thanks to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police who have done very little so far.
One other thing that bothers me about this. It said in the Charlotte Observer this morning that the last calls from his cell phone came were bounced off of the cell tower at 10th and Siegel. That is just on the outside edge of Uptown and starts to turn into a really shady area. What on Earth would have made him go over there in the middle of the night?

Well I wont specutate on that, I have no idea. There are alot of places in Charlotte that are sketchy.
But leave it to Fox Charlotte to call the big stories of the night, the drought and Bruton Smith
They have raised about 7 grand for the search so far.
I hope this has a happy ending!

Wasn't there also a young soldier who disappeared after leaving a bar in Savannah? I apologize I can't recall his name just now.
I'm from Charlotte, and now live in the Monroe/Indian Trail area, I hope Kyle is found safe too. Thanks for posting this case.

a word from his sister . .
From Noelle Fleischmann:
Words cannot express how much I appreciate everyone staying out so late searching last night, and everyone going this morning. THANK YOU!!! MY dad asked me to post this on the website--
"WE ARE OFFERING A PRIVATE $10,000 REWARD. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ABOUT KYLE SHOULD CALL CRIME STOPPERS AT 704-334-1600"
We are in the process of making new flyers with this information on them.. If anyone could do the same, it would be extremely helpful. Especially because it rained this morning, we may need to go back and put this new information up. We are most likely trying to reach people on the streets with this reward information--hopefully someone who was hesitant to come forward will change their tune. Again, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FROM THE FLEISCHMANN FAMILY! DONT GIVE UP!
-please keep reposting this

I too have been checking on this board and others hoping he has been found, it's so sad and strange, there are a few questions I would like to throw out here that I think might help find him. How much did he drink that nite? Did he appear drunk which could have led to him stumbling somewhere. Did he 'drunk dial' ...he made phone calls early in the morning, was he intoxicated? Did he have a history of drug use? Could he have met up w/ a drug dealer????? Overdosed????? This case has gotten media attention but we seem to know very little about Kyle....jmo.

I am curious too. I so hope he is found safely.
I read that he left his pea coat and credit card at the bar. Was he intending to come right back. Does that state have a cutoff time for serving alcohol. IIRC, he was last seen at 2am.
Was his credit card at the bar to cover his tab? Or left in his coat? I can see being drunk and leaving your coat. Perhaps even forgetting to clear your tab and get your card back. Was he lured out of the bar? Step out for smoke? Did he say anything when he got up from his seat?
Thanks for any updates. Hoping for a happy ending

Is there any update on the mom's surgery? I can't imagine being in her shoes having to face such adversity. I hope that her surgery is successful and can ease a little of her suffering. The courage she must have
The whole family seems very brave and focused on the mission at hand. Please continue to be strong. It's one of Kyle's best chances for a safe return , IMO.

More questions...was it typical of Kyle to call friends during the early morning hours or was it a sign that he was in trouble? The fact that he didn't leave messages could mean that someone could hear him. Did he ever not show up for work (call in sick) after a nite out? Could someone have slipped something into his drink in which case the surveilence tapes would be a huge help. Hoping to find Kyle.

Kyle probably left the bar around the time that it closed, forgetting his coat, and couldn't get back in because the bar had closed. Which leaves him downtown with no money and only his cell phone to contact people. How cold was it in Charlotte that night? That would provide information about the urgency of his situation.
I imagine that, after unsuccessfully trying to call his friends (why not call his parents?), he decides to find the nearest bus or train station. Maybe he's familiar with the area but not quite sure where the station is, so he starts walking in the nearby streets looking for the station. Or perhaps he was trying to walk back to his apartment or his friend's house--anyone know how close the bar was to those locations?
If I were stranded downtown and my cell phone stopped working, I'd stop into the nearest hotel and ask to use the phone.

There are no busses or trains that run at that time of night in Charlotte. I don't think the weather would have caused any urgency. Until the last three days it has been pretty nice here. Wednesday it was 74 during the day and got down to 59 over night. Since then it has gotten pretty chilly here.
It was reported that he was at the Bobcats Arena to see Dane Cook and went to the Buckhead after the show for drinks. I would not think that someone would go to a comedy show alone, but they have not mentioned that he was with anyone that night other than the girls that came foward with pics of meeting him that night at the bar. I don't know what to think. But I sure hope they find out something soon.

There's no hour/time cut-off for serving alcohol in NC; I'm not sure what time the Buckhead closes, but they would have been serving right up until closing time.
It hasn't been frigid in NC in the evenings, but it's been cool enough that most people wouldn't want to be outside after dark without a coat or jacket for very long. My sister went to the Dane Cook comedy show at Bobcats Arena that night too, and she wore a long-sleeved sweater and jacket (and she's NEVER cold, so it was at least cool enough to warrant that). I asked her if she'd taken any pictures at the Dane Cook show and she said she hadn't.
I'm not terribly familiar with that neighborhood - is there a hotel within walking distance of the Buckhead where he could have stopped to use the phone? The previous poster was right, there aren't any buses or other public transportation at that hour, but he probably wouldn't have had any trouble getting a taxi.

There was a search of Kyle's condominium today ~
"Police searched Kyle Fleischmann's condominium and the surrounding area early this morning.
The 24-year-old has been missing since he was seen at the Buckhead Saloon Nov. 9.
Police took three waist-high brown paper bags with what appeared to be bedding from Fleischmann's condominium around 1 p.m.
Earlier in the morning, neighbors said, K-9 units searched the grounds of The Fransciscan Terrace, a condominium complex near Pfieffer College. The property abuts Little Sugar Creek. Neighbors also said the dogs searched several cars parked at the complex."

Interesting. It looks like cops have some information that he returned to his apartment...? I wonder if he walked (Pfeiffer College is ~ 5 miles from the bar) or got a ride with someone.

There is a cut off time in NC for aclohol it is 2:00 am. You have to stop serving at 2 and I believe all alcohol must be off the table by 2:30.
Any news on the search? I've been at work haven't seen anything about it.

Okay, this is a stupid question but could they have taken the bedding only to give the dogs a scent to go on?
It does sound like thought that they think he may have gone back to his apartment since they're checking cars there.
I hope he's found soon and safe.
I pray for him and his mother.
