I wonder why the media is just now getting reports, almost 2 weeks later.

Praying she comes home safe & soon.

That is a very good question, kaylynn. I live in Alabama but near the Florida line, and it was reported on our local news for the first time last night (8/1).

There is very little information about this that I have been able to find - but my impression (which could be wrong) was that she went to bed at home, and then was gone in the morning.

I haven't heard anything about this on the news either.

And the article doesn't give alot of information. She was last seen at home, and then gone. All of her personal stuff remains. Doesn't sound like a run-away.

Yeah, I've heard she went missing on 7/22, then another article that said 7/23. Either way, I would have expected it to hit the media by 7/25 at the latest.
It's sad how there are so many missing persons cases that go unnoticed.

What is going on in FL?? There are so many missing persons cases. I was over at the Charley project it only archives missing persons cases that have gone unsolved for some period of time, but Florida is 3rd in the country for missing persons cases after California and Texas.

Praying for Britney

Thanks for the link. I just checked this morning, and that is the most recent information I can find on her. For whatever reason, they don't seem to be putting too much emphasis on this. If what's been told is all that is known and I was the parent, I would be screaming at the top of my lungs. Strange.

That appears to be the exact same article as the other one... no new news, but at least it's more exposure. Thanks!

Yeah, it doesn't have much more information, but at least the words getting out there. MSNBC is a national site, so hopefully we'll start seeing it on national news here soon.

Same info as the other links, but the picture of Britney is clearer.

Come home safe Britney.

I wonder if she smokes, if so, she could have gone outside to smoke a cigarette, and either run into someone she knows or met with some type of foul play. I do hope she's alright. She's a pretty girl.

I personally know Britney and have for years. This family is in shambles not knowing where she is. I can give you some smaller details that may make you feel a little better. Her mom and aunt did not report her missing until a week later. She is known to go off and hang out with a friend for a week at a time so her mom at first was not worried. She and her mom have a great relationship and Britney had been going through some tough times in her life. I think she knew she needed to get a job and start getting her life together. I don't know of anyone who would want to harm her in any way but that thought always crosses your mind when you know she is not the type to be gone and not call or show up somewhere. I personally have not heard anything new either but I hope and pray that she comes home. I feared so much that the body they found down the state was going to be her and I am sad for the family to whom she was from. I have never known her to do something like this and hope that she is just out and about somewhere and ok. I will keep everyone posted on anything new that may surface.

Thanks for giving more information. I wondered when I first read the article why she was not reported missing right away.
I do hope they find Britney soon and safe.

This is the first I have heard of this too. I live in central florida and you would think if you live in the state you would hear of this. I feel bad for the family and hope they find her soon. I have a daughter named Brittany and is 19 also and I keep telling her to be safe and she just doesn't get that there are bad people out there. She needs to read these boards like I do. It may scare me to death to do so but I least I am aware. I do little things all the time, like lock my car even if I am just going into a conveinence store. You just can't be too careful. Trust no one! People though Ted Bundy was such a gentleman> yeah right, look where it got them! Anyway, my prayers are with the family.

I know what you mean, Paula. My daughter is 14 and is, of course, invincible. I don't know how to convince her otherwise - because she already knows everything!!

I just found this article, although it's dated 8/1 and have not seen it until today. It just adds a couple of small details.

http://www.wmbb.com/gulfcoastwest/mb...8-01-0008.html

What's strange to me is that the article says she was last seen "outside" her house, but her mom says she stepped outside to make a phone call AND came back in. So was it someone else that saw her outside and if so, who was it and what was she doing, etc?

I just found this story and even though it is 6 weeks old I felt it would be a way to bump for Britney. She is still listed as missing at:www.wcso.us/Britney%20Wright.pdf

Washington Co. seeks missing teen
November 30, 2007
The News Herald

Washington County officials are increasing their efforts to try and find a missing teenager.

"We're very concerned for her safety,'' said Sheriff Bobby Haddock. If the girl were able to, she would have contacted her family over the holidays, he added.

Britney Jenae Wright, 19, was last seen on July 22 at about 11:30 p.m. at her home on Country Road in Washington County.

All of her belongings were left at her home including clothing, identification and other items she would normally take if leaving her residence. She was last seen wearing a T-shirt and pajama shorts.

Washington County Crimestoppers are offering a $1,000 reward for information on Wright's whereabouts. Those with information about the case are urged to call (850) 638-8477.

Britney's cousin, who was spending the night, said she noticed around 2 or 3 a.m. that Britney was not in her bed.

Phone records show she tried to contact several people between 2 and 3 a.m., using her mother's cell phone. Cops say one conversation with a friend lasted more than 20 minutes.
