Alicia Minton, 29, Rogers Arkansas 6/1/07
I saw this on the news this evening.
http://www.4029tv.com/news/13483613/detail.html
Alicia Minton was last seen June 1 in Rogers. Police said she dropped off her children with a friend and headed to the Beaver Lake area in her car and then never came back.
Minton is 29 years old and is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 110 pounds. She has brown hair and eyes. Authorities said she was last spotted in swimming gear -- a bikini, red tank top, shorts and flip-flops.
Police said they believe Minton did not pack bags for a trip and was not expected to be gone for long.
Detectives said they found her car -- a silver BMW 30i -- but they found the car at the intersection of Second and Locusts streets, not at the lake, where she had supposedly been seen.
"The investigation revealed that she was in the Prairie Creek area on June 1, so that's where we're focusing our attention. Right now, we want anyone who has seen her or talked to her since June 1 to give us a call," said Rogers police spokesman Tracy

I did a google search and found this page:
http://courts.state.ar.us/opinions/20001220.htm
In it there is a case
Minton v. Arkansas Dep't of Human Servs. (Roaf, J.) CA00-544
Parent & child -- Termination of parental rights; insufficient evidence to show appellant wilfully failed to pay support; chancellor's conclusion that young child had not and was unlikely to bond with appellant clearly erroneous; reversed & remanded. [HTML, WP5.1]
and
CA00-544. Alicia Minton v. Arkansas Department of Human Services, from Benton Chancery. Reversed and Remanded. Pittman and Griffen, JJ., agree. (14 PAGES PUBLISHED) [HTML, WP5.1]
Could this be her?
I find her disappearance strange. I hadn't even heard of her before this thread was posted.
Someone dressed in her attire and not taking anything with her makes it seem suspicious to me.

I found the same link, actually several links with her name in the area for various court proceedings and a city meeting she attended for a zoning issue with the daycare for her children.
I did not posts these links because I do not know if this is in fact that same girl. I live in the same area and when I moved here a few years ago I had a hard time getting my drivers license because they were insisting I had already lived in Arkansas. There was someone with the exact name (and my name is not common). I then found out that she goes to the same church as me and when I was checking my son into childrens church, they thought that her daughter was mine too because all of our names start with the letter B.
When you read that link the first thing that pops in your head is, "well this is the type of person who would just abandon her kids so she must have just disappeared on her own will". Long story short, I didn't want to attach a negative file without knowing the facts if it is her or simply someone with the same name.

IMO, her car being abandoned is a bad sign. I think if she were going to take off, she would have driven out of the area in her car.

I sure hope this woman didn't abandon her children, but that would mean she was most likely safe.
I do hope she's okay.

The place where her car was found next to Suzie Q's, a popular summer malt shop (really good ones!). We always stop there on our way out of town that direction to the lake. From the area she was last known to be seen it is about 15-20 minutes from Suzie Q's. It would be likely that she could have met someone in the parking lot next to Suzie Q's to go to the lake. She was then seen at the lake but what happened next? I'd like to know who she was with!

She was not reported missing until June 4th so what is up with that?
http://www.kfsm.com/Global/story.asp?S=6643228
You would think the people keeping her children would have reported her missing when she did not return for the kids. Go figure unless Alicia told them she may be gone for a few days.
Not really a lot of details about this case. I just feel like something happened with her car being found. I do hope they find her. Maybe some new news will come out this week.

Most of the idiots who are in there, don't deserve all that stuff anyway.
I LOVE LOVE the sign out front that says...
"Today's inmate # is ......" and then lists the # of inmates in the jail.
Anyway...I'm not exactly sure what the heck the Rogers PD is up to. Such a big stink about keeping what they are doing out there at Prarie Creek such a secret. Ummm...everyone know's you're searching for this lady's body!
Here is an article from today's Daily Record with a bit more detail....

Police have surveillance video from the day she disappeared but will not release where it was from because of privacy issues txt
This article also details some complaints she had made against her ex boyfriend.

Here in Arkansas, if they are out on a work detail, they make them wear the old time prison stripes. I moved here about 12 years ago, and the first time I saw the inmates out working, I was all WTH was that??
Now saying that they believe that she was with her ex the last time she was seen. That doesn't sound good.....

Update...Her Purse found
I personally knew Alicia. We were friends/coworkers back when she was trying to get custody back of her daughter. She had tried really hard to get her life together and do the right things. I know she would have never just taken off as some have suggested. I lost touch with her when I moved to Germany and at that time she was involved in church and working hard to stay on track. I fear the worst now that it has been so long since her disappearance. I hope and pray for some answers soon. I know this is torture for her friends and family especially her children. This was in the news today about her purse being found. Not really a good sign so far.
Police Confirm Missing Woman's Purse Found
This article was published on Monday, June 18, 2007 7:25 PM CDT in News

ROGERS -- A purse that may have belonged to a missing Bentonville woman was found Friday.
A purse believed to be that of Alicia Minton was found in the search area on Beaver Lake, said Tracy Groomer of the Rogers Police Department on Monday.
Officials have been searching for Minton on Bear and Deer islands.
Groomer, the department's public information officer, said he could only verify the finding of the purse and that officials believed it belonged to Minton. Groomer said he could not give any details regarding its discovery, its contents, why officials believe it was Minton's or even if the purse was wet when found.
Minton, 29, of Bentonville has been missing since June 1, according to a police report filed by her mother, Brenda Mathis.
The Texas EquuSearch Mounted Search and Recovery Team Web site has Minton's picture posted and states that, "Dennis and Tammy Watters are headed to Rogers, Arkansas with boats and sonar equipment to explore Beaver Lake in an attempt to locate Alicia Minton following a lead from law enforcement."
Benton County Sheriff's Deputy Doug Gay said Monday he had never heard of the EquuSearch. Gay is the public information officer for the sheriff's office.
There is also a Web site with an offer of $1,000, "for information that ultimately helps solve this missing person case." The Web site is: http://www.missingaliciaminton.com/
Gay said he had heard about the Web site and the reward on the news but had no firsthand knowledge of either.
People who would like to volunteer to walk the shore line and otherwise participate in the search for Minton are asked to e-mail from the Web site and will be contacted when authorities say it is OK to help search.
A phone call to Cheryl Lawless, office administrator for EquuSearch, was not immediately returned Monday.
EquuSearch was started in August 2000 with the purpose of providing horse-mounted search and recovery for lost and missing persons.
It is a nonprofit organization funded solely by donations from team members and the surrounding communities.

Update
http://nwahomepage.com/media_player.php?media_id=3317
Watch this video about the case. Apparently Randall Greenway was sited for speeding away from Beaver Lake a few hours after Alicia dropped off her kids on the 1st of June. Which makes it look even worse in trying to find her alive. Now missing for 19 days. The family needs closure. I hope that if he did something to her he admits it and gives them piece of mind and let them begin the grieving process. I still hope they find her alive but things just do not look in her favor at this time. I will continue to pray for her and her children.

Family Thanks Searchers For Effort

Email this story Print this story Comment on this story BENTONVILLE - A representative of Alicia Minton's family thanked law enforcement officers and volunteers Thursday for their efforts in the search for the missing woman.
Minton, 29, has been missing since June 1 when she was last seen headed toward Beaver Lake. Police have called the case a missing persons case but have concentrated search efforts in the Bear Island/Deer island area of Beaver Lake east of Prairie Creek.
Michael Powers, who oversees pastoral care at First Assembly of God Church in Bentonville, read the statement for Minton's family. He said the family is doing well. He would not answer other questions.
Minton's former boyfriend, Randall Todd Greenway, 35, of Rogers pleaded guilty Thursday to five felonies and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He was jailed shortly after her disappearance was reported but has not been charged in connection with Minton's disappearance.

I first want to say that I joined this forum after reading what everybody had posted, and for the most part I want to thank everybody for thier supportive thoughts and prayers. I have been a friend of Alicia's for over 10 years; as well as her family. I was in attendance at the candlelight vigil held last night in her honor, and it was extremely emotional for everybody.
Please know that the sheriffs office and local P.D. is doing everything that they can, there have been a number of outside volunteers come in and help search for her as well. I also want to put to rest any speculation that she was a bad mother that would have "up and left her children", as that was not her at all, she loved her children and did what any parent would do for thier children and that was give them the best life she could possibly give.
All prayers are very much appreciated and if you would like to visit her website it is: www.missingaliciaminton.com

Yes Alicia definetly wouldn't abandon her children. I have known her for years and the candlelight vigil was beautiful.
As far as the searching is going I'm very torn on my opinion. Some facts that should be made clear. Randall Greenway was seen speeding away from the lake twice that day, yes that is fact, what is also fact, HE WAS ON A MOTORCYCLE! I don't know this guy and certainly don't trust him, but he was a drug dealer, there are other reasons he could have been fleeing.
I find it very suspect that if he had just committed a crime of the nature we are referring, that he would be speeding. Why would he be on main roads and blatently calling attention to himself?
Toooo many things don't add up for me here. Not to mention they have been searching that area for weeks and nothing but a purse has turned up. Her purse could have been tossed there by anyone at anytime to get police to continue searching a useless area.

I wanted to add one other thing here. Alicia said she was headed to the lake that day and that is an area she frequents. But I have to also wonder, who's to say that the time she spent at the lake wasn't completely uneventful and then she met up with someone afterwards before she was going to return home.
I have to assume part of what they would have is her cell phone records, and wonder if they have tried pinging it like what has been done in some of these other cases. I guess you could assume that it wouldn't ping if its in the lake and reception down there is horrible anyway, but I'm curious when and what the last call she made was, time wise?

BENTONVILLE — Alicia Minton has been missing for almost three months.
Minton was last seen at Enterprise Rent-A-Car on West Walnut Street in Rogers on June 1. It’s believed she was going to Beaver Lake the day she disappeared. She was wearing a red bikini, a tank top, dark-colored shorts and pink flip-flops. Authorities have spent weeks searching for her body in the lake.
Last week, Benton County Sheriff’s Office Deputies searched the shoreline, and the BCSO dive team searched for the body, BCSO investigator Greg Hines said.
Hines is now in discussion with other groups to help continue the search. Hines has been in contact with a national search organization, Necrosearch, which specializes in searches for bodies.
Randall Todd Greenway — Minton’s former boyfriend — has been identified by police as a suspect in Minton’s disappearance.
According to a court document dated June 8, police believe Minton was last with Greenway.
Hines confirmed authorities had seized a boat connected with Greenway but would not comment on whether any evidence was found on the boat.
Police arrested Greenway on June 9 after executing a search warrant at his residence at 703 N. 37 th Place in Rogers.
Greenway was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to unrelated drug charges. He is being held in the Benton County Jail waiting transport to the Arkansas Department of Correction.
A $ 1, 000 reward has been offered to anyone who can provide information to help solve the case. A missing-person alert for Minton can be found at missingaliciaminton. com.
Anyone with information on Minton’s disappearance or her connection to Greenway is asked to call Rogers police at 621-1129 or the BCSO at 271-1008.

Nothing new on Alicia's case. I was told they are saying they are still searching, but this is a very big lake. Maybe some storms will kick up the water.
Hope, Prayers and Faith that Alicia may be home soon!
