New statement from the McCann's on Sky news after Gerry rejoined Kate in Portugal
http://news.sky.com/skynews/article...1266780,00.html
I didn't find the video yet but this came from the article:
"Police are now said to believe the children were fast asleep when Madeleine, also thought to have been asleep, was taken from her bed.
The indication contradicts reports in the Portuguese press that detectives were assuming Madeleine was either drugged or taken by someone who she recognised.
The girl's aunt Philomena McCann told the Daily Record: "We believe Madeleine slept right through the moments she was taken from the room, which would have meant there was no noise.
"It breaks my heart to think of the way it would have happened. I honestly try not to think about it."

Polygraphing
I guess, what OMOM, is asking , and I'm not suggesting, she is, this is only my interpretation from what I'm reading is;
Whether or not its whats done, volunteering for a polygraph is a choice. It may not be admissible in the United States court systems because constitutionally it is protecting a defendants rights. With that said, whether its England's or Portugal's legal protocol, offering to take the test in privacy with the attorney's present , plus the examiner, is offering to remove ANY incinuations that the parents are guilty. {After all the bashers and complainers about posters, I want to be very clear, I'm not accusing or assuming anything. I will keep my own opinion to myself, for fear of more bashers, I've had my fill. }
I am not suggesting they are or are not...I am only saying between their hired attorney's and themselves, with a certified Polygraph administrator, why not do it?
Maybe, because they are doctors, they are educated in anatomy, physiology and numerous other courses that educate how the body's central nervous system , cardiac and mental states effect the person being tested. SO MAYBE BECAUSE THEY ARE UNDER DURESS, THEY MIGHT FEEL , THIS WILL POSSIBLY ALTER THE LEVELS OF THE TEST, AND THAT THE RESULTS MAY BE FALSE POSITIVES OR EVEN SHOW RESULTS OF UNCERTAINTY. So I will speculate this is why....they decided against testing, if it was even suggested.
It is my opinion that if it was me, I would definitely offer to polygraph and I have a legal backround, and am well aware of my US CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to deny such a test.

Compassion fatigue?
An article asking if all the publicity for such a sustained period could eventually work against the intention. How the public are being affected by all the intimate details/photos of the family's agony.
Also as the McCanns are obviously under immense strain, are their decisions being made from a rational perspective?

Thursday 31st MAY
Been reading the papers this morning. McCann's visit to Rome, butterfly landing on ribbons in her hair. They believe is a hopeful sign.
English police upset over even more Portuguese police bungles including the toy that Mrs. M carries around.
