the same arguments were once used against interracial marriage as same sex marriage, they were as flawed then as they are now - it is the same finght, a fight for equal rights, something some do not believe in I guess

if interracial marriage was up for a vote, it could get repealed too, who knows, do you support that?

One idiot doesnt equate to interracial couples losing their right IMO. I know many interraccial couples, none of them say they have been denied thier rights because of being interracial.

As I said before, most minorities are offended when they hear gay rights compared to their civil rights. I guess they dont see it as being the same.

the comparison is the right to marry, which is exactly the same thing, we are not talking about all the other rights that Americans of the past denied blacks, just the right to marry white people because they were black people

at one time this "idiot" as you call him was the majority, interracial marriage was not allowed, times change

I think gays should be allowed to marry. I also support polygamists, but not because I have any thoughts of it being similar to the civil rights issues of blacks, because IMO, there really is no comparrison.

To me it's simple. The govt has no business regulating what goes on between consenting adults, be it 2 adults or 20...black, brown, yellow, white or red. It just isnt the govt's business, IMO.

were not comparing "civil rights" of black people, we are comparing interracial couples being denied the right to marry to same sex couples being denied the right to marry

and I agree with you, same sex couples should be allowed to marry

And I dont see interracial couples as being denied the right to marry. Yes, you have ONE idiot that denied the license. And that idiot has since left his position, so he means nothing. The American public, for the most part, did not agree with his decision. The interracial arguement is weak, at best, IMO.

IMO it has to be all or nothing. I have no problem in granting gays the right to marry, but then I also think we have to extend those rights to other "minority" grouops, not just gays. Like I said, to me it isnt a matter of "gay rights", its a matter of the govt over-stepping its boundaries.

they WERE denied their right to marry just as same sex couples in some states are today, and yes a few idiots still try to deny them that right

if you allow hetero sexuals to marry more then one person, then yes I agree you would have to let interracial and same sex couples do the same, but that is not what we are discussing, we are discussing giving equal rights to same sex couples, something you agree should be done

when we finally allowed interracial marriage we did not have to allow people to marry their cats and dogs, lets get real here shall we

Repealed??

You do not repeal a Supreme Court decision.

It would take a Constitutional Amendment to override Loving, nothing less.

well same sex couples were allowed to marry and it was repealed by a vote of the majority, not the Supreme Court

That was an internal matter, a state issue.
