This may get very interesting in the next few days. Pelosi is saying she wants a vote by the weekend, Reid is saying he will not be rushed. Moderate dems are saying neither bill is acceptable.

Your post is so fitting for this group. I don't think any of them know what they're doing, but they dang sure know WHO they need to be looking out for...shock, shock, shock....IMOO.

Reid is saying they need to take the time to get it right, Pelosi is saying pass anything.

Now, dems got 2 more seats last night, so they really cannot say they dont have the votes to pass it without republican support. If it fails, it fails because the Dems wont vote for their own party's bill, IMO.

Last I heard, they dont have anywhere near enough votes to get it through.

"Health Care Reform Assumes Millions Would Pay Fine Rather Than Get Coverage

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated in its study last week that the House health care bill would bring in $167 billion over 10 years in penalties from those who don't get coverage."

"The health care reform bill awaiting debate in the House assumes millions of workers and employers would rather pay $167 billion in fines than purchase or provide adequate coverage, according to a recent analysis, raising questions about whether the plan does enough to make insurance affordable."

"Ailing ‘uninsurables’ may face long wait for care
Reform plan to cover the sickest who lack insurance calls for 6 month delay"

Ap article

I was surprised to read where those with pre-existing conditions will be required to wait 6 months before getting coverage via the public plan.

American cancer society is not happy with this , for obvious reasons.
