I baked today, and was good: cleaned up the kitchen and all utensils. Also, a sun roll up/down shade in computer room today dislodged and had to reinstall and it raised dust, and led to a complete dusting of shelf, puters etc. and vacuuming of the room.

Good grief! After a cleaning spree like that, you need a couple of days of rest & relaxation! lol

show off!!!!

i MIGHT do some cleaning this weekend. with hubby out of the way for a month or two, he won't get in my way. it is all HIS fault that no cleaning EVER gets done around that cottage.

we put a new energy saving light bulb in the light fixture that has the ceiling fan. well.... it's like 100 watts - it is TOOOO bright. i saw all kinds of "things" in that living room i haven't seen in 2 1/2 years!!! and never want to see again! i'm going to put the old bulb back in - i think it's like 25 watts.

I'm officially done cleaning all the doors (both sides), closet doors (both sides), walls, windows and window sills upstairs! Yay!!

Of course now it makes everything on the main level look dirty, so I'll putting that on my Winter Project list.

I still have a lot of yard work to get done before Winter. Pruning, snipping, clipping, raking, blah blah blah. I'm already 2 weeks behind schedule, so I'll be busy this weekend.

Ooooh - get RID of that new light bulb!

Or get a dimmer switch - but that'll slow down your fan, so that's not a good idea.

Since you're FREE FREE FREE for awhile, why don't you go back to just using candles?

Yes, low light to save energy and ambiance!
I'm resting on my laurels from yesterday today. No cleaning.

i'm thinking tho, that once it gets dark outside, i'll want to have some bright lights on. we had a major raccoon-a-palooza last nite (after hubby had gone to bed) that was so scary i thought they were going to crash through the wall. i ran around closing all the windows. although one of them closed one of the kitchen windows FOR me. i saw a giant 'coon print on it this morning.

Thumbs Up

Tuesday we're going to have a painter come and paint the kitchen, dr/lr/ 2 hallways and the staircase wall.

We have vaulted ceilings in the k/lr/wall going upstairs, or I'd be painting it myself. I'm too old to set up ladders and what not and cat walk around with paint cans/rollers, paint brushes and rags. So I took into consideration all the money I'd save by not sending myself to the hospital and hired it done. Cheap at half the price.

I figure by next Thursday my house will be beautious! I'm so excited. The color is a taupe-green and very neutral. I'll worry about accent colors later.

The only thing I don't like is having to pack up my curio cabinet. That's always tedious and time consuming.

Then...there's the fish aquarium and my husband's a "git'er done" kinda guy. Let's just say that moving something slowly does not compute with him sometimes. I worry. I worry.

Yikes! We have lots of raccoons around here and they live peacefully together in the woods. We rarely hear raccoons fighting.

Are they trying to claim the territory around your cottage? Is there a female nearby that's in heat?
