I can understand that. I too think this case deserves the DP, and any case like this one - once it's proven we've got the right guy. Laws right now can't support that, and we've always reserved the DP for cases where the criminal has taken a life. That is the one thing they stopped short of here - and with all that was done, I'm sure this child will still be glad to be alive - at least most of the time.
I understand that's not what you suggested - it was just one more post in a bunch that were in favor of prison yard punishment - and I really don't like that type of suggestion - as I said, partly because I do know a prison guard or so, and partly because the thought of some sicko thug prisoner getting to 'enjoy' one more act of violence is really abhorrent to me.
