Ok then. I had that "Uh Oh" moment too...then I tried to beat to clock thinking if I didnt hit AGREE by 0.00 seconds , I would be locked out or something...when I did click it, I got that microsoft BONG noise...couldnt "agree" until the time was up.
Then I thought maybe the boards were hacked....
Glad Im not the only one. Usually we know when something like this is gonna happen.

I got one too! That was really weird...
The "Don't spam/abuse any other member via e-mail or Private Messages" kind of confused me. So we can spam/abuse members on the board, but just not in PM's or email? :tongueside:

That's what mine said. It's in the forum rules in the box at the bottom of the page under "you may post replies" etc. I never clicked on it before so I don't know if it was there before today.

Right under the "Post Reply" button theres a box that says the usualcan / cannot stuff....has anyone ever noticed before if "FORUM RULES" was ever there before...? Its clickable as WD said above and it almost looks like a "board" that one could post on...but you cant. It just has .... what Kennedy posted above.
Strange...I looked at a couple of other sites and they have the same "forum rules" button...but its actually their forum rules, almost personalized.
Oh well....maybe CW will log in and get the pop-up too, lol...

I just got the same popup when trying to post a response on the political board. Wondered what was up, because Ive never really noticed anyone posting in any language other than English, and had no idea other members would have access to a persons email address to be able to harrass them via email.

You can opt to have your e-mail public in your profile. I don't really think anyone does though. You'd need to change the default to make it public.
& yes, I got the same pop up just now when I posted for the first time today.

I doubt the board is, or was, being hacked. CW doesn't handle technical issues, so it's not a stretch that she was not informed, and didn't know.
Besides, I think if the board was being hacked, that they wouldn't waste their time trying to enforce the rules of the board.

One or the other is marked in red. It's truly weird. Does this pop up come from Admin or not? Why does a member get this pop up if they don't even use the PM system on a board?

I don't remember anything about all post having to be in English when I first signed on or when I was part of the mass banning in 2004 & had to sign up again.
It could have been there & I just don't recall.
I figured it was an update to the TOS.
I know of a board that lets you check in but you can never check out & the TOS I signed there many years ago changed a lot & we were never notified. To get off that board I had to write a post letting everyone know of what I thought of what that board has become to at least get "Banned" under my name as they use "Timed Out" & other such things so it LOOKS like they have more members then they actually do.
