and of course we have Obama's faith based initiatives that he could of easily made community based initiatives if he truly honored separation of church and state

Sadly Obama continued the Bush faith based policy, I would really like to see how much and where that money is going, how much is going to the community, where people can go to get access to these funds meant to help the community, ect... they are our tax dollars, we should all have access to those funds in out times of need, no matter our religious beliefs, I have no doubt some are getting some good works for our forced donations, but how are we verifying that we the tax payers are getting as much good works from the church as we are paying for? what are the governments checks and balances with the church, there also needs to be a place online that we can see what churches got what funds for what purpose in say a 50 mile radius of our zip code - how can people use the funds if they do not know they exist

Bingo! Separation of church would mean the state does not line the coffers of any church or it's church based projects. That should be coming from the people.

Wonder how much could be replaced in our account to lessen our deficit if we stopped these initiatiatives. for that matter, as hard nosed as I am. I would NOT send any money to other countries until we get our economy in order.

Then once we would like to help other countries, we can send our people over there to work the construction and handle the purse strings. How much of the US money goes to corruption in other countries.

Charity is nice, but being a fool is risky.
