GEORGETOWN, Del.- A Lewes pediatrician is facing more than two dozen child sex charges after being accused of videotaping himself forcibly performing sexual acts on girls, ages 3-months to 13, at his practice, according to court documents obtained by WBOC.
On Friday, Delaware State Police arrested Dr. Earl Bradley, 56, of Lewes, for the second time this week. He now faces eight counts of first-degree rape, three counts of second-degree rape, 14 counts of sexual exploitation of a child by photo or film and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

Wow! This is horrible. Can't imagine what is on the videos for LE to say it was the worst they've seen. May I also add that I do not understand why a parent would leave a small child or any child alone w/ anyone to be gone so long to get "treats" or testing. The latest was a 2 yr old. And even if you let them walk away w/ the dr. after a minute I'd be concerned and go looking. I am not blaming anyone but the dr. but I'll just stick to my "trust no one" theroy.
Why is'nt this all over the news? The public needs to be aware that this goes on even in the pediatricians office.

How utterly disgusting. I am horrified. I was thinking here. I wonder how long he has been doing this and if any family had noticed or had a problem with their child or were accused themselves of hurting their child by LE and it was this sick pervert who hurt their child?

OMG, this is beyond horrible. I can't believe it. I have worked in a doctors office and we never took a child into do anything to them without the parent being there. If we were giving vaccinations and the parent didn't want to be in there to see that then that is one thing. I don't understand how this Dr. was able to isolate these children long enough for anything to be done.
As if the above news isn't bad enough I find it horrifying to read this in the article........Police said they spent about a year investigating Bradley but could not arrest him until obtaining evidence. I'm not apologizing for this statement but screw the evidence. Wouldn't this mean that police knew about what was going on and more victims who could say or do nothing were sexually attacked? While they stood by and did nothing because they didn't have enough evidence? :cursing:

Update: More charges filed against Lewes pediatrician in rape case
Police received complaints from the parents of at least two other children who were patients of Lewes pediatrician Dr. Earl B. Bradley before allegations from a third this month led officers to move in and file rape charges against him.
Investigators actively looked into the two earlier allegations but found there was not enough evidence to support any criminal charges or even request a search warrant, said state police Cpl. Thomas Guarini.

The Department of Justice is an active participant in the investigation of Dr Earl Bradley of Lewes who is now charged with an additional 24 offenses. He faces 8 counts of first degree rape of a victim less than 16, 3 counts of second degree rape with a victim less than 16, 14 counts of sexual exploitation of a child by photo or film and endangering the welfare of a child.
The first charges were filed earlier this week, though police have been investigating Bradley for about a year. The investigation has now revealed multiple victims and State Police encourage parents of patients – regardless of the age of the child or if they are former patients - to call Troop 4 at 856-5850, ext. 216.
The Department of Justice provides specialized services to victims of crime and their families through its Victim Services Unit. Bradley is now being held at SCI in default of 2.9 million dollars cash bail.
I wonder how long this has been going on.

Thanks for the additional links Gentle. Again I'm baffled this is'nt on the national news. Is it to horrible for them because it's the holiday season?? This is especially eye opening if you are a parent that puts all faith in physicians. I wonder how busy this office was/is. Are there others that practice there? Would'nt his staff be suspicious? Well with that bond I doubt he'll be out anytime this year.

I am too, and I just started a thread on the child abuse forum.

He's 56 years old; you know he didn't start doing this last week. I wonder where he's worked in the past and what happened there.
A theory I have is that parents were stuck with him because he was the only doctor in town who took Medicaid, which many physicians do not because they lose money on these patients.
The comments are interesting, and proof that this is nothing new.
