WEST JORDAN, Utah (AP) — Police say four family members were killed at a West Jordan apartment complex in a possible murder-suicide case.

West Jordan Police Sgt. Drew Sanders says the bodies of two adults and two children were found dead around 8:45 p.m. Thursday in a unit at the Willow Cove Apartment complex.

Sanders confirmed that all four victims had died from gunshots. It was believed the father, who was not living at the apartment and was separated from his wife and children, shot his family and then himself -- after texting friends and relatives to confess to the slayings, indicating he intended to take his own life next.

The names of the victims were not immediately released pending notification of next of kin. The father was 36 years old; the mother 31; and the two boys were ages 6 and 4, Sanders said. The bodies had been removed and the crime scene cleared as of 7 a.m., he said.

I couldn't believe the amount of family members that have lost their lives to suicide/murder just in the recent weeks. When I was looking at the threads I thought some were duplicate threads but sadly, they weren't.

It is unbelievable and what is so uncanny is most of the recent ones had four family members involved.
