Are we allowed to just discuss religion in general on this board? I thought the religion forum was for current topics from legitimate news sources. Meaning, I thought it was to discuss items in the news.

the section title is now "religion" and no longer "world religions (current events only)", and looking at the other threads it is obvious that the general topic is religion - so if you have something you wish to discuss from the link I posted feel free to participate

I was just going by what it says on the main page..
Religion
current topics from legitimate news sources.
Like I said, I assumed it meant the board was to discuss current religious news articles.

that would wipe out many of the threads on this topic, and from speaking with cw about other threads I did not get the impression that was the case
for example this thread is about a book and it is allowed, not a legitimate news source

what was it you wanted to post that you thought you could not ninetoes?

Can we have daily devotional threads? How about daily prayer threads? Can we have a Bible study here? Not a debate or discussion about is the Bible real or legit, but an actual Bible study, for believers?

I would believe you could, though people would be allowed to add their opinions to the thread just like any other, you can't stop them from doing so, though it would probably not be a topic I would want to participate in, I do not see why it would not be allowed
in fact, if you look, there is such a thread "Inspiration Peak/Quote for the Day"
if you started a thread " Bible study, for believers only" I think most would be respectful and not participate unless they believed in the bible

You must be able to see threads I cant see. I dont have an "Inspiration Peak/Quote of the Day" thread on mine. All but the last 4 threads are news articles. Thats why I was wondering if perhaps the rules changed recently.

It's not what THE BIBLE says, but how people interpret it.
For example, I once knew a man who could quote THE BIBLE almost verbatim, but he sure did have an odd way of making it fit his way of life. (Note, I said ALMOST VERBATIM.).
This guy actually believed he was not supposed to work and he proved it by Matthew 6:28:
[King James Bible]
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Note the "they toil not..."
This fellow lived off of his Mother. He lived with her, and he got his keep from her by doing chores such as mowing the lawn, going to the store, etc.
AND, HE HATED HER GUTS!!!
Maybe he skipped over EXODUS 20:12
