Well, this is enough to make you sick to your stomach.

Nick Chamberlain walked with his former high-school sweetheart into the woods behind Service High School on Monday during lunch break with the promise of a silver ring, told her to close her eyes and lift her head, then plunged a pocket knife into her neck, according to documents filed in court Tuesday charging him with attempted murder.

He continued stabbing the girl until he had inflicted 29 wounds, the documents say.

The attack was so brutal that at one point he bent the 2 1/2 inch blade of the folding knife he was using. The attack ended only after a skier confronted the 16-year-old student, who shouted curses and slashed at the man, spattering the witness's glasses with blood. The boy then walked off into the woods, according to court documents.

The poor girl is so lucky to be alive. That skier saved her life. I'm sure the kid would have continued stabbing her to death if the skier hadn't confronted him.

The pictures of the exboyfriend's family are truly heartbreaking. Do these criminals EVER think about the effects on THEIR families? Obviously they couldn't care less about their victims and their victim's families but, jeeeeze, what an ugly mess for their own families.

And, my every sympathy for the victim and her family and friends. How awful...

I was googling trying to find more information. The last report I saw - she was about to be released from the hospital. The entire thing is so sad.. if that man hadn't have walked in on the attack, I have no doubt that Lory would be dead. Nick Chamberlain is a very evil and dangerous guy - I hope they keep him off the streets as long as possible.. the only reason he's not a murderer right now is because his plan got foiled.

She is so lucky to be alive!
