I didn't see Jesper's name listed ~ is he playing? If so, I'd like either him or Steve Stricker to win.

Nope... he's not playing, he's playing at the PGA Qualifying Tournament...

There are only 18 playing.. Stricker is one of them and he was suppose to play with Tiger... he's a good guy I like him. Harrington is playing also..

WOW... look who is in the lead... Y.E. Yang... going to be good golf today... love to see Padrig and Perry in it too...

A year ago, Yang was grinding in the California desert during the final stage of Q-school, a six-round tournament that determined whether he would have a PGA Tour card. Since then, he won his first U.S. title at the Honda Classic, then made history as the first Asian to win a men's major, and the first player to win a major when Tiger Woods had the lead going into the final round.

Yang, who was at 9-under 135, is chasing the $1.35 million winner's check while trying to hold off a group that includes Padraig Harrington (68), Ian Poulter (69) and Kenny Perry (65), who were two shots behind.

Q-school is at the halfway point in Florida, where the winner gets $50,000 and two dozen or so others get jobs.

Found this interesting in what Yang said about Tiger...

He earned a five-year exemption for winning the PGA Championship at Hazeltine. Perhaps it was only fitting that the man who became even more famous for taking down Woods is leading a tournament where Woods is the host, even if Woods is absent this week because of the car accident that set off a week or sordid allegations involving the world's No. 1 player.

"Last time I saw him it was on the golf course, and I only remember him as fun and really focused and competitive, but also a great guy on the golf course and in the clubhouse and locker room," Yang said. "So I miss him, and I hope to see him on the course and the locker room again quite soon."

Will check back later after golf starts... it comes on about noon here..

Sun... thought you would appreciate this comment by Furyk...

For the past 10 years, Woods has hosted this event and been on site to hand the hardware over to the winner -- which four times was himself. (This time, the chairman & CEO of Chevron did the honors.)

Furyk did not get to experience that pleasure Sunday, but the $1.35 million check is likely to suffice as will the satisfaction of shooting back-to-back 67s on the weekend to capture a tournament that had 14 of the top 25 players in the Official World Golf Ranking.

"He's the best player in the world, the host and his foundation is the [tournament's] beneficiary, so obviously it has a different feeling," Furyk said. "He and his wife are friends of mine and you want to support them and wish them the best. Tough times. So they need the support of their friends right now."

I have a feeling many of the players feel that way.. while not condoning what has happened.. I think many will be there for him..

The Graeme McDowell who took his place in the tourney said this...

And then there is McDowell, who last week played in the World Cup in China and is only here because Woods withdrew on Monday. He was the unwitting and somewhat sheepish beneficiary of the Woods mess.

"Not having him here is obviously a huge disappointment," said McDowell, who nonetheless took full advantage of the opportunity, finishing second to jump into the top 50 in the world rankings (for the first time, the tournament was awarding world ranking points) and all but assuring himself an invitation to the Masters. "It's a huge disappointment for golf in general really. I mean, he is everything that's good about our sport. He's an iconic image in our sport.

"Hopefully this can all finish quickly and correctly and we can get him back to where he belongs, at the top of our sport, and obviously doing good things for the sport."

I posted Kenny Perry's and these other comments on the Tiger thread.. Kenny is such a good friend of Tiger's.. his comments I'm sure won't be accepted by some posting on that thread.. but don't think Kenny or Tiger will care... for that matter.

Wonder if they would of thought that SNL skit was so funny if it was the other way around and it was a woman being beat up on... I think it was in bad taste.. especially with Rhianna on the show the same night... JMOOC. There is nothing funny about DV.. but yet they are getting a great laugh out of it.. on the Tiger Woods thread.
