LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - U.S. actor Alec Baldwin says he has lost interest in acting and considers his film career a failure.

"I don't have any interest in acting anymore," Baldwin, 51, told "Men's Journal" in an interview for its December issue.

I think this will be like when he said he would leave the country if Bush (GW) was elected. It isn't going to happen. And if it does...so what?

didnt he just loose his house? I'm sure hes the one...they all have issues. He just sounds depressed....movies are made up of a lot of people. sometimes it's the supporting actors that are the most memorable not the stars... he needs some meds.

Alec sure does sound depressed, doesn't he? I thought he was having fun on 30 Rock. Maybe he is and is depressed that it is ending. I think its a great show.

His daughter has forgiven him, maybe the public will do so too. I hope that old news is not what is depressing him. All the Baldwin boys have such problems: I wonder why.

I've been looking forward to the release, in a few weeks I think, of his new movie with Meryl Streep. I liked him as the seedy character in The Cooler, and remember seeing him in the thriller Malice in the early 90's. Don't agree with his politics but like him as an artist.

Maybe he wants to get into politics? Just guessing.

Can't stand his politics and he seems a bit "off" to me in his personal life, but Malice remains one of my favorite movies. His new film with Meryl looks good, unless the trailers are the only good parts and everything else in the movie doesn't measure up to those cuts!

That scene in Malice where he defends the "God complex" statement is a classic and one of the best performances of any career, IMO.

Never liked the man. I don't watch 30 Rock because of him. At least he knows he wasn't a movie star.

I don't like that he is co hosting the Oscars:thumbdown:. Steve Martin is past his prime IMO also. Robin Williams is a hoot, he would have been a better catch..or Billy Crystal again

I'm looking forward to it. I think he is a fine actor and has won many awards. Seems like he is whining and I wish he would stop. Hope he is not planning on a political career, but I doubt he would get far anyway. That whole family is a little "off", aren't they? I wonder why.
