I doubt it was me boycotting her but after the 3 Obama visits, her supporting him and then claiming she was not going to have Candidates on her show, I think she left a bad taste in the mouth of lots of the 59 million who voted McCain/Palin. I know she did me.

And every rooster on the planet might potentially believe that the sun won't rise until his crowing begins.
I don't watch her show, but I recognize that Oprah has enjoyed tremendous success over many years. I think any supporters of the McCain/Palin ticket who think her announcement to stop her show in another year's time is related to their likes &/or dislikes in her choice of guests would be about as right as the roosters.

I know she did me. And that little speech Oprah made on Monday "hoped the Governor was not upset" was really a hoot. Particularly the part where paraphrasing Govenor Sarah says "Not to hurt you feeling but you really were not on my radar". So Sorry Oprah. IMOO Obama was on 2 times - both times were before he ran for President.

She's just going to start up her own show. I'll bet 10-1. Even so, I won't be watching that one, either.
I don't care for Oprah, because she will not shut up. She gets a professional on, they start to make a statement, she interupts and drones on and on about HER opinion, HER feelings, HER life, HER thoughts, et al, ad naseum. At the end, there sits the professional person, still muzzled, they get a cursory thank you for being there, and that's the show. No thanks.
I dont watch any of these types of shows. I cant bring myself to think that any one person is so wonderful and all knowing that they are somehow an expert in all things in life.

See Post #5 - Oops, am I Tardy to the Party? Apparently: you still ignore he fact that he has on before he was a candidate.... and SP was not invited; she was a candidate.
SP did not turn down the opportunity when she was finally invited - to offer more "new" views contradicting her old stories. ho hum.

My daughter works at an ABC affiliate station and they got a personal call from HARPO the day before the announcement.
But as it turns out the money stations all over the country will be saving now could pull many off the abyss of financial ruin.
Her station pays 2 or 3 hundred thousand to air the show and the station in Seattle pays 8 MILLION just imagine what stations in L.A. and New York paid to air the show.

I agree with the part about her putting her two cents worth in. I have noticed she does do that quite a bit, however, she is usually correct. I mean she does have a lot of experience on many issues. Really. I try to overlook things like that because her shows are usually very good. I also respect her opinion on almost everything. I have found we don't agree on movies though. She raved that the movie The Last Emperor was the best movie she had ever seen at the time. REally. I couldn't watch 20 minutes of that movie. I totally disliked it. Anyway, I will miss her, even though I only watch her once in awhile now.
I think when you know you are ready to move on, do it. That's the right thing to do. I bet she will continue to enterain on her cable station in some format.

The daytime queen will interview the president and first lady for a primetime special called "Christmas at the White House," which will air on ABC on December 13.
The special will include both a solo interview with Obama and a joint interview with the president and first lady, as well as a tour of the White House.

What a wonderful show Oprah had tonight. Her interview with our "great" President and First Lady Michelle was terrific and the best I've seen!
Touring the White House and looking at all of their decorations was absolutely breath-taking.
I urge everyone to watch the video. Happy Holidays to all!

Seeing how cute and well-trained Bo is just melted my heart.
How wonderful a couple are Pres and FL Obama?
Loved the way they sent 600 previously used tree ornaments to non-profits all around the country for children to decorate and hung them on the main tree. LOVELY!
