SINGAPORE — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Sunday warned Iran it could face new sanctions if there is no progress in the deadlock over its nuclear programme.

Medvedev said after talks with President Barack Obama that neither he nor the US leader were satisfied with the pace of the process, as Tehran drags its feet over its response to a UN-sponsored deal.

It is so refreshing to see the work Obama is doing in gaining and developing our alliances with Russia and so many other nations. Obama met with the Russian leader today, on his trip. Obama, doing his job, making us more secure.

TERRIFIC NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is very meaningful for the entire Middle East, and, especially, Israel.

I find it gratifying that we are once more working in conjunction with Russia instead of butting heads with them. It can serve to make the world a safer place to live.

Unfortunately, so far at least, Iran appears to have been unable to say yes to what everyone acknowledges is a creative and constructive approach," Obama said while seated next to Medvedev.

"We are running out of time with respect to that approach."
