Lawyers for TLC are seeking court permission to depose Stephanie Santoro in their breach of contract lawsuit against Jon Gosselin. Santoro had a brief romantic fling with Jon and worked for a short time babysitting his kids. She has publicly acknowledged their relationship in recent interviews.

As far as the interview goes.....Yes, I suppose that could be possible....but IMO it is unlikely due to the hard feelings between Jon and TLC. I don't know, if he was that upset about not having them for Halloween I have a feeling he would have found a way to be there (we all remember what happened with the twins' birthday). I remember an article about him being in NY with Hailey on Halloween. Maybe Halloween isn't up there with Christmas and birthdays as being one of the "big" days.

There were some reports out there that the couple would actually be doing the final interview together, but Access is claiming that they are indeed speaking separately. As a matter of fact, Jon's recorded interview for the episode was apparently recorded several weeks ago before TLC filed a lawsuit against him for breach of contract.

So you believe the examiner about this story but not about Kate throwing Jon's stuff?
Former "Jon and Kate Plus 8" star Jon Gosselin was reportedly thrown out of his own house over the weekend. Jon told "The Insider" during Tuesday night's episode that at about 11:00 p.m. Kate showed up and apparently started to "throw [his] luggage at the door." Among the contents were Jon's clothing and his laptop.

Both Jon and Kate Gosselin were invited to the wedding of Philadelphia Phillies superstar Shane Victorino and Melissa Smith. But that was in April, before Kate filed for divorce. Jon and Shane, whose nickname is the Flyin' Hawaiian, are known to be good friends. The outfielder and Smith live in Las Vegas (another of Gosselin's favorite cities) and have a daughter Kali, 2. Jon was his usual very-casual self while in Hawaii, rarely venturing out of his flip flops and shorts. He flew to Hawaii Friday, the same day lawyers for TLC decided to add Stephanie Santoro to their list of witnesses being deposed in their lawsuit against the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star.

Well, goodness me.
The whole point to a mssg board is to discuss/argue a point/debate.
Nothing in either Justice's or my posts were "fighting" or of any personal nature that would have required taking it to PM.
It was on topic, it was about the people about this thread, it was not disrespectful. In fact, almost by definition, the kind of way discussion goes on in every forum at IS.
So I am a bit perplexed. I would not presume to speak for anyone else, let alone for "us" on the board, either.

Lara: I understand you had a very rough weekend at home.
Jon: She came home and it was 11pm and I was sleeping in Alexa's bed and she was saying "get up, get up, and you left the lights on" and this and that, but for her to to come home and take all my stuff and gather it at the door when I'm gonna walk through the house anyway to make sure I have it, I live there too, I pay the mortgage. You don't see me throwing her stuff out.
Star: Did she actually take your luggage and throw it outside?
Jon: She took my laptop and like threw it out by the door. She constantly stood there tapping her foot when are you gonna leave, when are you gonna leave?

What I have found watching these few episodes of the Insider is that it is a horrible, horrible show which makes up claims in the form of questions. For instance, Lara asks Jon, "in front of the kids?" about this totally exagerated non-incident of Kate gathering Jon's stuff. Of course, it was 11 o clock at night, so no kids.

Sorry to jump in here Daniel, but is it not also true that according to TLC court papers, Jon is getting paid to say these things. I also thought he said he was going to quit bad mouthing Kate. Seems like he will say anything and even go back on his word if the price is right.
That guy has told so many untruths that I don't beleive a word he says in just normal conversation. When he gets paid for it, I just have to take it with an even bigger box of salt.

It's been a long time since I've wanted to seriously slap someone into next week, but he's brought me to that point. Man, wouldn't it be nice if he were as smart as he thinks he is? As it is, he's probably the dumbest rock this side of the Pecos.
I wonder if the Arbitrator or the Judge are aware of some of Jon's antics? If so, or if they are made aware, perhaps they might be able to scare some common sense into his head. Would be so much better (mainly for his children) if Jon would listen to some reasonable, responsible adults rather than those who have his ear at the moment.

Viewers of Jon & Kate Plus 8 will see the spillover of the couple’s acrimonious public divorce war on Monday night’s show. There’s no more holding back as the show heads toward next week’s finale. And score this round of fighting as a victory for Kate who delivers a funny and stinging jab to Jon. Discussing how the family’s dogs used to run off the property Kate credits Jon with the invisible fence idea and says, “If they wore their little collars their boundaries were set and they stayed home.” Yes, you can see it coming. Then she adds: “Maybe we should have used a collar for other people!”
Watch the clip above to see what else Kate has to say.

You’ll see a different side of Jon Gosselin on Monday night’s episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8, and it’s not going to get him nominated for Father of the Year. In this preview clip Jon is shown ignoring his kids, while texting, talking on the phone and doing what has come to be known as “working the fence.” Monday night’s show definitely puts the reality in reality TV as Kate comments on Jon’s lack of interaction with the kids, and makes it clear it’s not a one-time thing. After one clip of Jon blatantly ignoring one of his daughters, Kate says about her soon-to-be-ex: “He is on the phone a lot. I will come home and I’ll say, ‘Did daddy play with you?” The kids answer her, “no.’ and when she asks them what was Jon doing they respond: “He was on the phone.” Kate explains that she strongly believes Jon’s calls are personal and she limits her calls around the kids to work only. Jon is also show “working the fence” which is when he goes over to talk to photographers and visitors at the fence on his property, often conducting impromptu sessions with the media.
Monday night’s show is the next to last of Jon & Kate Plus 8, but still breaks new ground in its depiction of Jon.

Yes, Kate seems to have allowed no helmets when riding on the driveway at the new house....at least in the past. However, Jon and the ATV and tractor riding seem to have started after the split. IMO, no helmets in those situations are more dangerous than bike riding on a driveway. Although, I would prefer to see helmets worn in all situations.
I have no idea if Kate has "demanded" helmets? Even if she has, wouldn't it be hard to enforce when Jon has custody? Has anyone ever asked her what she thinks about helmets? Jon was asked and insisted that there was nothing wrong with riding on any of those vehicles without helmets. Kate Gosselin did some chores after saying goodbye to some guests, including brawny bodyguard Steve Neild and his family, on Sunday at her home in Wernersville, Pennsylvania. After the house guests left, the svelte, skirt-clad mama-of-eight dragged a huge blue trash can to the curb, with the help of her kids.
Her husband Jon, in the meantime, was partying in the Hawaiian islands, where he attended the wedding of Philadelphia Phillies speedster Shane Victorino.

I still think he's bi-polar, but wonder if he's not doing some heavy "recreational" drug consumption. He's so looney tunes for the most part. Like he's in a fog or something...
I am wondering the same about drugs/booze. That would make the most sense to me. I would think he would get help for those 8 children.
I wish a judge would order drug testing, a gag order and certain safety guidelines for issues like the ATV/Tractor riding with no helmet.
I remember on the twins birthday when he did that whole thing with ET, for pay, and he said he was having the ATV gift sent to a relative so Kate couldn't refuse it. That tells me that Kate has probably been having issues with Jon and the way he putting those kids in danger. We certainly see now what she has been up against. I still can't beleive what we saw on the Insider. Excuses, excuses, excuses.......

I do not think anyone could put Jon in a good light right now. The guy has pretty much done himself in. If anything when he was with TLC and Kate he looked a heck of a lot better. He can't blame either TLC or Kate now.
I don't blame TLC but as far as Kate well i think she would fair better with her children if she just kept her mouth shut and let Jon act a fool. They both should be ashamed IMO

Jon Gosselin's lawyers are demanding that a court not allow TLC to seal the reality star's contract in their legal battle, according to new court papers obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com.

ohhhhhhhhhh now i see what they are trying to hide.
In the new court papers, Jon's lawyers also claim TLC has been questioned by Pennsylvania officials about work permits. Jon's lawyers write: Plaintiff's request to seal the documents demonstrates its desire to covet its overreaching and unconscionable terms from Public scrutiny and to shield it from discovery and analysis by third parties, such as the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry which is investigating the Plaintiff's failure to acquire Work Permits for the Gosselin children and the Local Municipality which has been inquiring into Plaintiff's "location/film permit" requirements where the show was filmed."

That is what gets me, has he no shame? He is trying to keep himself in the spotlight at any cost. Kate is just moving forward and doing the right things. She is getting her own show, spending time with the kids and really carving out a life for herself and her kids. Jon just the oppisite.
I hope she does get to do the voice in a cartoon. Those kids would love that. I could just see them all on the red carpet. Wouldn't that be so cute??

Dude, shut up. Nobody owes you another show, another shot, another anything. "Damaging your reputation and career?" WHAT career? Before the show, Gosselin was an IT analyst. And even though unemployment is at 10.2%, I'm sure, if you put your limited mind to it, you could hit monster.com and drum up a gig at Cisco Systems. Or figuring out why the Wifi doesn't work at Corner Bakery.
TV doesn't owe you a job. TV gave you a job. Then, TV decided it didn't want you anymore. You can go now. You can disappear into the corn, never to be seen again, like 99% of the people of Survivor or American Idol. We barely remember the winners, why would we waste valuable brain space on the losers? Nobody owes you fame... And nobody is stopping you from doing what you did before you were on TV. It didn't pay as much, and it didn't get you dates despite your penchant for Ed Hardy [...]wear, but that's not the point. You can find another job, anywhere else you want. Just not a day care center, or as a relationship counselor, okay? Because I'm sure the performance reviews on both were pretty damn negative. To obscurity with you.

You’d think that a guy who thrives on attention would seek a bit less of it when he’s doing something unsafe. Especially when it also endangers his children. But no. Jon Gosselin, star of TV’s former reality show "Jon and Kate Plus Eight," didn’t seem the least bit concerned about putting one of his five-year-olds on an ATV. The fact that 20 percent of those killed by ATVs and 30 percent of those injured are kids must have escaped him. Gosselin risked having his son become one of the 40,000 kids who are sent to emergency rooms each year in accidents related to ATVs. Plus, neither the elder nor the younger Gosselin was wearing essential safety gear—a helmet.

While her soon to be ex husband Jon soaked up the sun in Hawaii, Kate Gosselin got a head start on the holidays Monday, with a little early Christmas shopping. The single mom of 8 looked to be in a somber mood as she shopped the aisles at Toys R Us, Old Navy and Bed Bath and Beyond in Reading Pennsylvania. Kate has expressed her nerves about spending her first Christmas as a single mom, but it seems that she's doing all she can to make sure her beloved kids have the most enjoyable Christmas possible, with or without their dad.

We never used helmets for in the drive way or those little cars. Now if it were in the street, that would be a different story.

Ouch!! You really do not have to insult me just because you don't agree with my post. From the looks of things you seem to want to pick Kate apart. Besides I seem to be with the majority. So how is that so funny to you.
Just one example of how Kate is doing so much with her kids is Holloween and how she was able to pull off Trick-or-Treating with her kids and no PAPS. It is only obvious she is not doing all she does with her kids for camera time. If she was then she would of made sure cameras caught their every move. That sounds like Jon, not Kate. Just like he did when he brought ET along for the twins birthday. Even though he says the cameras are not good for them. Ditto on how he is constantly talking with the PAPS. If he wanted them to quit filming those kids, he would ignore them just the way Kate does.
How do you know what goes on and all the activities she does with her kids behind closed doors? What she does sure beats Jon riding them around and putting them in danger right infront of the PAPS. Besides he hardly seems to be with them. He does not even live in the same state. Thats the kind of choices he is making that make me thankful Kate is putting them as her number one priority. That is why so many good things are coming her way. What is good for her is good for those kids so many like me have grown to love.
Kate seems like the same Kate she has always been. With Jon I surely can't figure out what happened to him. Used to love if, but its all over now!

Jon is picking his own self apart. I think posters are just plain fed up with all he is doing. Jon and Kate and how they are handling the divorce and most importantly their children's precious lives are as different as night and day. There is just no comparision.
I do not see Kate as self centered at all. We sure don't see her out on the town living it up and having affairs. Now that would be self centered! Instead she is with those kids and making the very best at what has to be a nightmare that Jon brought on because of his own self centered it's all about me attitude. Just because she is going forward with her show to support those wonderful kids does not make her self centered. Many people in Kate's shoes would crawl in bed and pull the covers up. Instead she is doing whatever possible to benifit those kids. Who else is going to support them? She is doing it the right way with dignity and class. She is not resorting to trash talking for pay like we see Jon doing.

The words “Broken Dreams, Broken Promises, Broken Episodes” flashed across a black screen before the second new episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 on Monday night. One of the first stories “interrupted by the events of this summer” was an episode dubbed “Passports to Nowhere” when the family went to get their passports for an overseas trip that eventually never happened. After asking the children not to divulge the location of their trip for security reasons, Kate lashed out at Jon after he slips and mentions their destination while berating Kate for writing “Korea” instead of “South Korea.” “Kate freaks out about everything.” Jon mumbled under his breath. Kate, who was on the floor looking through the children’s photos as they colored around her, quickly retorted: “I don’t know what planet you’re on!” In retrospect, Kate admitted, “I don’t think I handled that too well.” The trip to the travel agency happened during February as rumors of Jon’s alleged infidelity became public. According to Kate, the trip never happened because “Jon didn’t want the kids to go which made me very sad because it was a lifelong dream of ours to get our kids back to Korea where their ancestors came from.”

Kate and Jon Gosselin continue to live out their separate lives in front of the public. On Monday’s show of Jon & Kate Plus 8, Kate has a reflective moment after taking all eight of the children to dinner minus her estranged husband. On one of the last episodes of the series, Kate takes the kids to dinner and later watches over them as they head to gymnastics class for the first time. During the second half of the show, the brood spend time with Jon during a visit with a local professional baseball team. “This was kind of weird and different,” Kate said when looking back at her dinner outing with the children. “It probably is the first time I took all eight kids to dinner. I’m not going to say alone but, you know, without Jon.” Even through she patted herself on the back about how “efficient” she was, she did concede that she and Jon used to “have a process” of passing out the cups, foods, etc. After brushing off the nostalgia, Kate couldn’t help but add: “I didn’t feel like I was too hindered by it.”

Did you see the video of her getting the kids off the bus a few days ago and her screeching at those little ones while they stood like fearful soldiers next to the car?????
No smiles getting off the bus, no hello-hugs....just immediate screaming.
It's pitifully sad what she was doing to them, and to see their little faces.

Don't you find it odd that Radar is always around the house to take pictures of them?
I would find it odd if they were not. With Jon forever entertaining the Paps, he just keeps them coming back for more of the same. If he would quit constantly doing those interviews with them and letting them know his every thought and answering their questions they would soon go away. Funny how he says the tabloids are telling lies about him yet he seems to be on a first name basis with them and acts like they are good buds. Hmmmmmmm! Have to wonder if he is getting paid to feed them stories/pics the same way he is doing with tabloid tv. When Kate Majors testifies we might just find out.
Wish he would do like Kate does and ignore them. Those kids being on camera is what he said was so bad for them. Sure does not seem to be the case with him. I guess that only goes for TLC cameras. Once they ditched his name, they became the bad guys. No doubt if that had not happened he would be all lovey dovey with them too. As long as there is a focus on him, he is just fine with the cameras.

We don't have the public outrage with Kate seeing it about Jon because a lot of people probably think he could have used a shock collar. As most of you know, we are vegetarians and eat as most organic and locally-grown produce and products as are available--including milk.
I think there might be some confusion about organic food. I don't care about the restaurant one way or the other, nor think it is very important except as an attempt to bash Kate--but I did not see a thing in that restaurant that screamed non-organic. The grilled fish, the vegetables, the fries--all of that could have been organic.

If you’ve ever considered breaking your contract with the cable network who continues to edit your reality show, consider Jon Gosselin’s plight. In the past year, reality television’s most notorious father of multiples violated his contract with TLC repeatedly to collect money from The Insider and a few assorted Vegas casinos who paid him to shlub around their pool parties. Gosselin then accused the network of violating child labor laws (after learning that he would be booted from Jon & Kate Plus 8), and now he is paying the ultimate price in the edit room... Last night, Jon was depicted as a distracted dad who double-fists cellphones and ignores his children’s pleas for food in favor of schmoozing the crowds of female fans that accumulate on the fringe of his property. In one shot, Kate complained about the fact that Jon never trained their two dogs. In the next few minutes, Jon was again captured on his cell phone, a distant “What up,” captured by TLC’s mics. Kate’s barbs, which once looked so unfair, now seem well-deserved.

They've never said they were ate ONLY organic. That is almost an impossibility, I can tell you from our own family. But families who decide to eat better/healthier, choose to buy and eat as mostly organic, locally grown/produced foods as possible.
And the food would not necessarily have to be organic, which, under the United States Department of Agriculture’s definition, means it is generally free of synthetic substances; contains no antibiotics and hormones; has not been irradiated or fertilized with sewage sludge; was raised without the use of most conventional pesticides; and contains no genetically modified ingredients.
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/22/weekinreview/22bittman.html
I have noticed through the yrs that the Gosselins ate less meat than most American families and ate lots of vegetables and whole grains.
They did not do fast-food, either.
And that is a good thing.
Of course, even families who go the organic route make exceptions. Birthday cakes, ocassional treats, etc. We love, for instance, Five Guy's fries, made from organically grown potatoes, sliced fresh and fried in peanut oil!

Very true, but a once in a lifetime trip to S Korea may be wasted on 6 kids that young. The twins are old enough to recall some of it but even they are a tad young for that trip. I would wait till all the kids are older, maybe 12 for the tups. It won't be a cheap trip and I would imagine they would stay several weeks so I think that is about the earliest age I can see it being both fun and really being memorable. To be honest though, I didn't ever see/hear much outside of the one Korean meal Jon prepared that tipped the audience to the fact that either parent had much interest in their heritage. Of course, it may have been discussed off camera much more.

lilsugar: Does or did incorporating grains into the Gosselin family diet bring down the food bill?
KG: Definitely. Grains like bread, crackers, pretzels, and granola bars have always been a part of our family diet because they are affordable, delicious and nutritious. We go through a loaf of bread at every meal so I usually buy a whole flat of bread at one time!
lilsugar: How important do you think it is to raise children on an organic diet?
KG: More than anything, I think it’s important to raise children on a healthy diet. As I’m sure you’ve seen on the show, I try to find fruits and vegetables from local farm stands but when that isn’t possible, there are always great and healthy options available at the supermarket.

When I can use organic, I do. It can be more expensive, so it’s not always possible, but I just feel like foods that are grown naturally and locally help the earth. I buy most of my produce at local markets or farmers’ stands. And I feel better serving my kids foods that haven’t been sprayed with pesticides or chemicals.

So just for fun, I looked to see how long a flight to Hawaii is vs. a flight to South Korea. A nonstop flight out of JFK is about 14-1/2 hrs. Trip could go upwards of 30 hours (depending on the layovers and plane changes). I didn't see any nonstop flights from JFK to Honolulu, but the least amount of travel time is just short of 13 hours. So I'm thinking that if the kiddies did o.k. on the flight to Hawaii, they probably could have handled the South Korea flight.
Financially - and especially now knowing that they didn't make quite as much money as everyone thought - there is probably no way they could have ever afforded to take all 8 kids on a trip like that, on their own dime . . . unless they lined up some big money entertainment gigs.
We love to travel but don't do as much of it as we would like because of time and money. Ever since our child was little, we always travelled with her. She doesn't remember all the trips we've taken, but we love to share memories and pictures with her of the things she did and the things she experienced, and she loves to hear about it. My oldest little grand-daughter turned 2 in July and we have taken her to the beach several times, to fairs, to the zoo, to an aquarium, etc, and she LOVES looking at the pictures and the videos, even now.
My kids all love their pictures and videos taken in many places, too.
I agree that if things are greared toward children they enjoy the trip and remember it! Good point!
This just made me think, if we only ever did things at a time when our kids would remember them, we would never do anything. Disney may not be far away as South Korea or Hawaii, but how many parents have gone to the time and expense to take their kids there before they would be really old enough to remember it? If everyone waited until their kids were old enough, the kids would no longer even be interested in Disney!
Beaches, zoos, hands-on museums, parks, far-away vacations . . . we take our kids there because we want to experience the moment with them, even though they may not remember it 2 months or 2 years from now.

Exactly!
I've been thinking about this, too and had come to a similar conclusion. Why take my grand-daughter to feed the ducks and to lunch every Friday? She won't remember it.
Thank you! I was just thinking in my head about how they are probly similar in length. And they could fly at night, when kids are asleep, etc.
I know the children were always well behaved on those long trips.
Yeah they were great on that trip to Utah, the one where Kate had the meltdown. The kids might do better than she did.
With the divorce, I guess any trip the kids take to S Korea will be with Jon, if he has any interest in going. If the reason for the trip is just to see family on Jon's side, maybe he can meet them in Hawaii with the kids for another vacation.
I enjoyed watching the kids at the AA ball game on one of last nights shows. Jon was much more relaxed and seemed very happy. The kids had such a good time. I laughed when Jon said half the kids were into the game and the rest were all about the food! They really packed it away, hot dogs, popcorn, funnel cakes! A good time had by all!

I agree, completely.
Add on fabricated outrage over a dog collar COMMENT (which was pretty funny) and a restaurant and we've got the trifecta.
I thought it was funny too.
I've made similiar comments about my 3 year old. He's a HANDFUL AND A HALF....kids making me grey... sometimes ya have to have a sense of humor to deal with life.
CPS come and arrest me.

they are called Bungeoppang..........I had to go look them up LOL
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bungeoppang I would love to try that. There is a market here where I buy good kimchi and I noticed they cook some things there too. Maybe they make that there.
Too bad that the kids aren't getting to go to S Korea anytime soon - but maybe when they are older would be better for a long trip to a really different culture - different from what they are used to here.
I wonder if Kate really did not know the difference between S and N Korea? Who would just put down Korea?

It would be pretty shocking if she didn't know the difference and IMO it was a put down to Jon's heritage to act like her mistake wasn't that big of a deal.

What's sad, is that no one "deserves" to be treated like Jon treated Kate. If you don't like the person you're married to, you get a divorce and THEN you sleep around and party. Yeah, poor, pitiful, abused, hen-pecked, whiney-baby Jonny. My heart just bleeds for the adulterous louse. NOT!
Anyone who blames Kate for that man's behavior has a few screws that need tightening down. Just because he wasn't happy, doesn't mean he had any right to make his children suffer.
It makes me wonder what's wrong with people who will put a woman down for being sooo mean, blah, blah, blah, wah, wah, wah, yet they can cheer on and make excuses for a drunken lout of a cheating liar who's shown himself to be a thousand times more cruel to his entire family than his wife ever dreamed of. Makes no sense.
GREAT POST!! BRAVO!!!
You don't want to be with your spouse, feel like you are being abused.......GET OUT!! I don't mean get out and party with hot young things and sneak them on ski vacations on your wife's birthday and say your are doing so to help handicapped children on TLC's dime. Wrong on so many levels!!!
About Jon's and other posters claim that Kate is abusive. If Jon really felt she is abusive, then how can he explain why he moved so far away from those kids?!?! How can he turn his back on his children and jet set all over the place on pleasure trips that cut into his visitations with them? It is only obvious that if he thought her abusive, he would want to spend as much time with his kids as possible and live as close as he could to them. He would welcome TLC cameras filming them so at least he could feel some comfort that during the days of filming Kate would not be abusive. Actions speak louder than words Jon!

I have to agree with Jon on that one, Taking 8 small kids on a flight to Korea (a very long flight) is not practical. Kate became unglued just flying to Utah with them. Better to wait til they are older and better able to handle a long trip like that.
Utah trip was just one of many they took. IIRC, they had to circle the airport for a good deal of time and that is when Kate got upset. I would of been a lot worse with fear had I been in the same such situation.
Just the fact that Kate wanted her kids to know their heritage on Jon's side shows a great deal of respect to him on her part. Even if the trip would of been a lot of work for her, she was willing to take it on for her children. I suspect Jon had his mind on other things, of the young and hot nature, and a trip like that would of cut into his own wants and needs. Kate's mind, as always, was on her kids. Jon not so much.
If Kate some how won a free trip for one to Korea, highly doubtful she would go. She only wanted the trip for the kids, not herself. I say BRAVO to her for thinking of them and not herself!

Oh gosh, what a streach. Don't you at least see Kate wanting to take her kids on the trip to begin with a huge plus on her part? I doubt she would plan such a vacation then turn around and knock Jon's heritage. Makes zero sense.
For the record I get the Koreas mixed up all the time. Does that mean I am knocking either side........I think not.

Not sure how that worked out. When you plan any kind of trip and it takes hours longer than is expected, who doesn't get upset? Let alone with 8 little ones.

and i'm sorry but you don't just call it "korea" it's either North Korea ( which i seriously doubt she wants to take her children to for safety reasons ) and then there is South Korea ( wonderful country ). could you imagine being her being in North Carolina and just calling it Carolina or South Carolina?

I've flown with all seven of our children, 4 grandchildren and i've never started screaming and crying...and we were snowed in at O"Hare airport for almost 6 hours. Kate wasn't taking care of all 8 children alone. Jon was there and they brought "friends" (help) with them. Jon nor the friends were screaming and crying.

On a trip to Salt Lake City, Utah, which required no less than 13 suitcases, the Gosselins’ plane rerouted to Boise, Idaho, for refueling. Just as Kate was beginning to lose it (with one of the little girls jumping on the seat next to her), the whole plane was soon crying — even Kate. But as they touched down, all the craziness was forgotten and the plane erupted with cheers.

I dunno . . . my dad fought in Korea and he never specifies North or South. It's just "when I was in Korea".
As for the Carolinas, that brings to mind the song with the lyrics "Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina in the morning". I guess either state could lay claim to it being about them!

The first sentence of Wikipedia's entry about South Korea was interesting - it's officially the Republic of Korea and often is simply referred to as Korea. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Korea
South Korea's official website is www.korea.net. And just taking a quick glance through the website, I noticed the use of "Korea" much more than "North Korea" or "South Korea".

Kate is their mom and obviously had her mind on those kids. She has said that she felt many times that she felt as though a giant weight was on her shoulders and that plane ride was a perfet example of her feeling just that. Sorry J but I do not remember anyone screaming.
I will never forget a trip we took with our kids from Alaska back home to Ca with all kinds of delays. I was frantic and so were others with small children aboard. So to each their own. What ages were your 7 kids? Sounds like since you had grandkids along, at least some of yours were adults. Big difference in having 8 that were, what 5 years old and younger??
This is exactly what I mean by picking Kate apart. Just look at all the trips when she did not get upset on planes. Just look at all the prep Kate takes just to prepare for such trips. She starts days in advance. Give her some credit!

I gotta be honest here . . . kids or no kids, I probably would have been a crying adult. I once flew on a connecting flight and shortly after we got in the air we had to return to the airport. It was a small flight - mostly business people - and they're completely calm, more worried about meetings and appointments they would have to reschedule than anything else. Me on the other hand? Meltdown. And being stuck in a plane for any length of time causes the claustrophobia to kick in. Some people are just not good flyers. Probably Kate should have just knocked back a couple of shots of something strong and she would have enjoyed that flight a whole lot more!
