CHARLESTON, S.C. — Republican leaders in a South Carolina county have censured their own U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham for working with Democrats on a climate bill and other legislation.
The Republican has often worked with Democrats in Congress, but Charleston County Chairwoman Lin Bennett says his work on climate legislation is the last straw.

Wonder how much they think will be left of South Carolina when the oceans rise.
From the melting of the ice cap on Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest peak, to the loss of coral reefs as oceans become warmer, the effects of global warming are often clear.
However, the biggest danger, many experts warn, is that global warming will cause sea levels to rise dramatically. Thermal expansion has already raised the oceans 4 to 8 inches (10 to 20 centimeters). But that's nothing compared to what would happen if, for example, Greenland's massive ice sheet were to melt.

I know my daughter's house in Virginia will be in the ocean and she lives miles from the shore now.

I believe it was members of the GOP who did the censuring. Tea Party Conservatives had nothing to do with it. They are entirely different parties.

What struck me as so wrong is the reason for the censure is that Graham was working with the Democrats. As if that is illegal or immoral or something evil. Just how can we get the peoples work done if one party or another declares it is wrong to work with the other. And it certainly shows that attempts at bipartisanship will go nowhere.
Meanwhile it's party first, and the American publics needs come in a distant second if that.

Isn't it just amazing! To Tea Party conservatives, and to some Republicans, bi-partisanship is as dirty a word as is something about a bag around here.
LOL I get the joke.

A prominent South Carolina conservative offered support for Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Wednesday after a local Republican party censured the senator for working with Democrats.
Katon Dawson, the former state party chair, and a recent candidate for Republican National Committee chairman, said that while he understands the anger felt by Charleston County Republicans, Graham was just, well, being Graham.

They are cleansing the party, getting rid of moderates, they showed up at his town hall meeting too and shouted him down. The pressure for the GOP is coming from the the tea party supporters, and I only know of two states that have registered as a tea party Texas and FL, the others support the ideology. There is no national Tea Party.

I know! He's one of best they got, smart, seniority, good spokesman on TV, worked hard and tirelessly with Lieberman to elect McCain and they don't like his "bi-partisan" stances. Even though he votes 95% with Republican. Guess they don't like that he said at a town hall meeting, he wasn't going to let the Ron Pauler's take over his meeting....that what's seemingly is going on: the Libertarians and Far Rights are teaming up to take over the void. Very strange. IMHO

The Tea Party Conservatives, such as they are, is NOT a recognized official party, so I have no idea what you're talking about. Do you? mo They are officially registered in FL - can SC be far behind?

This took place in ONE of the 46 counties in SC.
Yes, and he has the support of a prominent SC conservative, so I would say this one county really means zilch, in the big picture of things.

I think I made it cyrstal clear it was a county that did this. And you certainly are free to think it is no big deal. I was concerned with the principle of the matter. And that doesn't change whether it is one or two or all of the counties. It is in my opinion very wrong to censure someone for working with the other party.
To me, your take is rather like saying it is no big deal they only shoplifted a $5 item. And I'm saying it is wrong to shoplift. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.

"Joe Wilson: Don't Censure Graham"
"With local Republicans trying to censure Lindsey Graham over his apostasy on, in particular, energy and climate issues, the state's highest-profile conservative is standing by him."

Graham infuriated many in the GOP when he gave a speech before the extremist group, LaRaza, and referred to everyone who disagreed with amnesty for illegal immigrants as "bigots". Backing McCain wasn't the smartest move. Being chummy with Lieberman isn't smart either.
There is so much nonsense going on with the "climate" agenda that it's difficult to even know where to start. Will it create desperately needed jobs? Probably. Will it be effective? Probably not. We have lost our manufacturing base and we need something to replace it. The money is on "everything green" and investors are waiting in the wings, lobbying like crazy and getting their ducks in a row, to beat the American public into submission. Think HAACP and how sheeple Americans have been forced to implement most of that craziness while the U.N. consistently gives waiver after waiver to other countries. Perhaps if "smart" senators like Lindsay Graham started telling the truth about the green agenda, he might garner more respect.

If you read any of my posts you will note I am an Obama INDEPENDENT.
You will also note tha I have always liked Lindsey Graham. He is one of the few, very few, Republicans, who does not march, in lock step, to the postulations of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Michele Bachmann et al.

Right. They can learn so much from the Democrats who dumped Lieberman and forced him to run as an independent. How could they do that to the "conscience of the Senate"?
