Frank was present during the 2007 bust, but said he had no idea what the plants were, and didnt realize his partner had them.

MO - maybe Barney was more aware than he cares to admit. That might explain SOME of his actions/comments, etc.
LOL I dont consider it a bad thing that he was there. really dont consider having the plants as a bad thing either, because I dont have an issue with people growing/using pot. What always gets me with this type of thing is the "I didnt know what it was" defense. Does anyone think the american public is really that dumb?

This is a very important thread to Democratic Party bashers.
The health care bill is being debated in the US House of Representatives tonight, at 10 PM Eastern on a Saturday... and someone's lover being arrested two years ago with marijuana is more important???
Wow, talk about priorities and prejudices!
I have seen so many prejudices on this message board, and threads that are allowed to stay for days and days, as long as they bash Democrats.
But wait, any anti Bush or anti Palin or anti some Republican thread.......gone or banished to the MEDIA threads in a day.
Such a screwed up system in place here, and so many people out to bash gays, bash Obama, bash liberals, bash anything but bought off Republicans.....
Barney Frank's lovers marijuana patch in Maine over 2 years ago is MORE important than???? Oh yeah, priorities ! No wonder America is so much in the dumps with this kind of tabloid thinking.

This is important....how?
No, not important news that is two years old..............not important, just a diversion......just a Fox News article, intended to divert attention from the work of America today.
some people............well, I better not say it again

Like it's old news, heard about it like 2 year ago, so it's important now for what reason? I thought the thread was about current events?

So who cares? As a sixty some woman, I don't care if anyone smokes marijuana. As fare as I am concerned it is less harmful than alcohol and in many cases actually cures things.

Hey Theal, the very fact that they have to dig deep is a good thing. And the actual basis of the thread itself is a joke. I have never in my life smoke pot but I have seen the effects of alcohol on people and IMO (like an opinion means anything) if only one of them should be illegal, that one should be alcohol. It can totally destroy families.

For heavens sake. The Boston Globe and the Huffington Post also covered this story today. I posted it because I found the whole thing funny as heck. My God, some read something evil into everything.
Ohhhhh big bad guy smoked pot. Good Lord...its 2009...legalize the carp and get on with it.

Apparently some Americans are really that dumb because BF is still there and some still believe what these people tell them, despite contradictory evidence and bills which say otherwise, BF should have been dethroned a long time ago.

And Obama (http://www.russpage.net/barack-obama-cocaine-use-and-60-minutes/)was an admitted cocaine user, and even worse IMO the liberal dominated media gave him a total pass.
as they should, he was never arrested for any crimes, he like most Americans have experimented with drugs and alcohol in their youth, had he got caught it would of ruined his life, the war on drugs harms more people then the drugs themselves, not to mention the cost of the war to this country

Wouldn't his admitted cocaine use make him a criminal?

The people of Massachusetts are the only group that gets to decide if Barney Frank should remain in Congress. They are very proud of him, and think he is doing an excellent job at what they elected him to do. In America there is no "throne", nor any "dethroning"; instead we have elections, I sure you know.

:w00t: Better check your back yard and hope you can identify the plants. OOPSY In this old story, it wasn't even his yard.
Dethroned? Are you in the USA????? I'm not sure I would recognise the plant any more. It grew everywhere in VT many, many years ago -along railroad tracks - mixed in with cornfields, etc. A policeman came to my home while I was out - sidled past my 2 daughters (who had not invited him in) to take a clipping of the healthy plant in my bay window: a Ming Aurelia.... to take somewhere for analysis, I guess.
He was quite the joke among the residents of our small town for awhile after that.

This is the best post of the thread!! You are absolutely right. And interestingly, one of the few subjects that many on the right and left agree on.
Legalize pot!

Hi birdwatch .... I think people might be surprised just how many places it DOES grow.
Funny story about your plant .... lol.
jmo I miss those days. I hit of local organic pot with no fancy or dangerous additives was kind of like having a relaxing glass of beer as opposed to the effect of chugging a double martini - the way the stuff is these days. (I've heard - I wouldn't know)

So if a person murdered another but was never caught he is not a criminal, you feel it is not the act, there must be a conviction for the act before the perp would be considered a criminal.
guess in your eyes the person who has 3 beers and walks home rather then drive is a criminal as it is public intoxication
it's a plant for crying out loud, it grows in the ground, it should be a legal herb
