Yesterday it was the Senate; today the House passed legislation to extend jobless benefits at least 14 weeks nationwide.

The count was 403-12. The “nays” comprised mostly conservative Republicans

It's about damn time. I'd love to know if any Dems voted against this, because I'd really like to know who's values are against making sure people eat.

I see this bill also extends the homebuyers tax credit.

Good news. And just another reminder of what Dem's have done for the working class. We were the ones to initiate Unemployment Benefits for all.

This could have been done weeks ago, but the GOP challenges the process every step of the way with procedural and delay tactics, all legal, but delaying for the sake of doing it to take up time and bog everything down. It's a shame. On some issues like this one, there was no need for it, it made common sense, but I guess it makes them look like they are strong or something by challenging even procedural votes and anyting they can. At least the Dems are more accomodating to them they ever were to the Dems. They are allowed to debate and attending meetings and are allowed to be heard. The democratic process in full swing.

When the USA is spending trillions what's 30 billion more? But I guess these people are the most deserving. imo
