Samira Watkins, a mother to a five-year-old boy, was on her way to see the father of her unborn child.
Samira's family tells us that man, who is married to another woman, had been wanting to meet privately with Samira for sometime.
Samira only wanted to meet him publicly but on Thursday, she finally gave in.
(snipped)
Joseph Ogburn just moved into the unit below the one Samira was going to.
He says the man who lived here was awfully busy moving out Saturday two days after Samira went missing.
Joseph Ogburn said, "Far as I know, they were in a hurry to get gone. You know, they was a U-Haul trailer. But as far as it was, they were in a hurry."

25-year-old Samira Watkins disappeared Thursday night after leaving her 5-year-old son in the care of a relative. Her family says she went to see the father of her unborn child but never returned home. Both police and her family say that isn't like her.
Watkins is 2 months pregnant. "Hope she's not no where hurt. If anybody knows anything or saw her I just hope they come forward," said Samira's cousin, Jasmine Robinson.

Boy, it sure doesn't. The father of her unborn child was married and Samira went to his apartment. Wonder if the wife was there?
Sigh...when I read the title of this thread, I feared it was going to be another missing pregnant woman who's been killed by the boyfriend. From the minimal information so far, that unfortunately appears to be the case. Samira had good instincts about only wanting to meet the guy in a public place -- how I wish she had followed her instincts. Hopefully, LE can find enough evidence to nail this guy.

From first link
Investigators have talked to the father of Watkins' unborn child twice, Simmons said.
Then what? He moved?
HLN's just did a spot of this case.

I'm not clear on something.
The Ogburn guy who just moved in to a unit saying that somebody was in a real hurry to move....was this mover the previous tenant of Ogburn's unit or is he talking about the unit Samira was supposed to move into? Or another unit?
Is the mover the same married man who's the father of her baby? Was this "mover" in that unit with the wife? Ogburn refers to "they". Or does it look like this guy was renting a separate place, and he has another home with his wife? That is, if this mover is indeed the same guy.
I'm trying to figure out whether Samira was planning to move into a unit with or without this guy, or whether there were two separate units. If she was scared seeing this guy alone, why get a unit in the same complex as him, especially if he was living with the wife there? Yikes.
Whatever the case, it sure doesn't look good.

lune, I may be completley wrong, but I took it to mean, it was the baby's father moving out quickly. I ASSumed  he might have had the apartment as a "love nest" for him and Samira or any other gal he brought there.
I figured, wifey was at a different location.
JMHO
Yeah, that's kind of the impression I'm getting too. The article isn't very clear, is it? Unless it's just because I haven't had enough coffees yet.
Gosh, baby's father sure has a huge motive, and actions that look like consciousness of guilt.

Samira went to meet her baby's dad at his apartment and hasn't been seen since. Samira didn't live there/wasn't moving in there. Just a meeting. Mr. O lives below the baby's dad/his wife. The baby's dad/wife left in a big hurry on Saturday.

Got it thanks.
This is the sentence I was confused by:
"Joseph Ogburn just moved into the unit below the one Samira was going to." I read "going to" as "going to move into" . DUH me.

The thing i want to know, is was the move planned well in advance. It might mean nothing if it was just because it was moving weekend.
However, it still looks really bad, and if he killed her then he has to be one of the stupidest men around if he thinks he will get away with it.

I'd like to know too whether the wife knew about Samira. Where was the wife when this meeting was planned in that apartment? Why would this guy ask Samira to come to his home, and not elsewhere?

This is awful news, and heartbreaking. I hope they arrest the person who did this. I think we can all make an assumption as to who the savage is, at least I am...IMO

I was so afraid of this. It sickens me to no end that this keeps happening. When will this craziness stop? With the lives of the 3 in North Dakota and now Samira and her baby, there's been way too much heartache today. May God be with Samira's son and watch over him. My heart is heavy for that little boy that doesn't understand where his mommy is.
