For the life of me, I can't understand why the "Huckaby" Thread was closed and locked.

It is a real shame to ignore this heinous case. Considering it an oversight that I hope will be rectified quickly.

Thanks for the update bearwds. We get so used to delays by the defense that I didn't expect this one to move forward so quickly. We'll see in December.

From the OP link:

Noted cases of his include, Richard Ramerez, Charles Ng and Lyle Menendez.

All three were convicted, only Menendez escaped the DP (sentenced to LWOP). Huckaby isn't going to have the "my dad abused me for decades, I never complained and I was fully an adult who could have simply left, but I had to kill both him and my mother" defense.

Here's hoping Michael Burt's streak continues.

ITA and thank you ROS, I was trying to figure out some polite way to say the same thing about Burt's "luck." I believe in a defendant's right to competent counsel, but I just don't know how anyone could sit in a room with - let alone defend - Ng or Ramirez. Menendez is a murderous brat who should never see the light of day, but those two were true monsters. AFAIC, they belong to some sub-species of their own.

Ng was so bad that Canada, who will not extradite those that face the death penalty actually decided to "deport" him back to the US after they called our bluff on him. We had him locked up for shoplifting essentially and given the death penalty extradition was not going to happen...as against the DP as i am i had to respect the California gov'ts approach.

They said alright. If you won't extradite him to us because we have the DP in his case, we are going to drop all charges against him. That of course put canada in the position of having this monster on our streets free after a minimum shop lifting charge of a year or so. The canadian govt and US came to a technical solution that i think had to do with deportation rather than extradition and only bc his case was so egregious that the public wasn't going to cause an uproar at the technical sleight of hand.

Ng case and his accomplice was one of the worst heinous cases I had ever
heard of. Horrendous. Do some of these laywers gravitate to certain criminals? Like Baez, he seems to support baby killers.

Never quite thought of it that way...but it seems reasonable.

Yale law school...Back of Matchbook Institute or University of Phoenix...

Put all the lawyers in a big sieve and shake...

Some will be stuck at the option trading defendants and others will filter down to baby killer creeps.

"Everybody needs a defense"

Yeah, right.

I think she did it for exactly the same reasons as any disgusting, vile, reprehensible pedophile does it.:cursing: She is perverse, twisted and evil imo.

Hello again APM! I responded to you on the Michelle Kehoe thread. My post concerns the "abuse excuse" defense. Rather than re-typing it, I'll just link it - my comment on page 4. I am sure the defense attorneys will use this in this monster's trial.
