I've been missing her on another forum we both post on so I thought I come over here and find her.... NOT!

Does anybody have any idea where she is? Has something happened to her?

Now I'm getting worried.

I'm not really sure if she posted on this board, but we got this news today:

I got the worst news today about our friend Mary. She passed peacefully awat from massive liver failure on June 24th at home with her loved ones at her side. Her husband didn't know how to let anyone know until we called his cell phone.

I was lucky enough to meet Mary and Tony. We clicked at once. Mary was not near as evil as she wanted to believe and will probably haunt me for giving her secret away.

Thanks Roamer, I was about to post here about this sad subject.

I first met Mary here when it was still CTV.

She will be missed, but her work will continue to be her legacy.

Tony (Mr.Haze, not his real name) said he is leaving this e-mail addy tonester2k@earthlink.net open for a while if anyone wants to write. He also asked if anyone wants to send flowers or something to make a small donation to an animal rescue agency in the name of Mary Sanderson instead. Tony is still going to be involved with dog rescue.

Halloween will be the time of remembrance as well as their anniversary so at midnight please light a candle and think of them.

Halloween has always been a special holiday for me so it'll be easy to remember.

We love you Mary, the world is just not quite as bright a place without you in it. :rose:

A sad day for all the animals (especially lost, neglected and abused dogs) on this earth.

A joyous day for all those at the RAINBOW BRIDGE. Tears of joy and embraces of LOVE. Mary is with her own now.

We love you Mary.

Oh wow, I remember Mary. I had no idea she was ill, but had noticed she hadn't posted in awhile.

She was always talking about her big dogs and kids and her love for them all.

So sorry to hear this.

:rose: my condolences to Mary's loved ones and family.

I knew her from her posts on various Animal forums we've had over the years. She certainly had many wonderful suggestions, advice and stories over the years about dogs that I can remember.

It's always sad to learn of a member's passing, even when it is months later when the news gets passed along.

Oh Gosh, I just saw this thread. She passed away four months ago? I have been wondering where she was. So sad to hear this. If it wasn't for her and Noah helping me Buster would have never got to stay here with me. He had major problems from being abused and dumped. She called me on the phone several times to help me through it. He is a great dog now. Thanks to Mary and Noah.

I will miss you my friend and I will think of you on Halloween. Candles will be lit in your memory.

I didn't know Mary, but listening to all of you about her, I have the chills. And I bet you are right, she is the crossing guard at the Rainbow Bridge. I can tell she was a blessing to many of you. Mary, I didn't know you when you were here, but will look you up near the Rainbow Bridge when I get there. Thank you for making this world a little brighter!

Mary came across as "rough & tough", but she was one of the nicest people and had a heart of gold. So does her hubby.

No animal was ever turned away if they found their way to her house.

She had 50+ dogs, cats, horses, etc.

Once you were her friend, you were a friend for life.

Mary was truly one of a kind. She loved her kids so much.

She said that she could rehabilitate any dog.. and she did. Her specialty was German Shepherds. I don't believe she ever turned an animal away.

She will never be forgotten.

I did not know Mary as many here seem to but I enjoyed her posts so much. We exchanged a few PMs during the M Vick horror.

I still follow the dogs' rehab progress and seeing a photo of a beautiful pit bull jumping for a toy, sunlight flashing off his healthy coat, I think of Mary Haze. How she restored health and trust to so many abused animals and gave so abundantly what they had a right to all along: Love.

God Bless Mary Haze.

She did try to rehab that little mouse - I'd forgotten about that!

I remember her talking about the snakes that lived in her basement. I'd say "get rid of them!" and she would laugh and say "naw - they're harmless!"

I am always thinking "Mary Haze will know what to do" .

So much I want to say but Im not processing this yet.

I hope I see her in my dreams tonight.

I'm so sorry to hear about Mary's passing. Mary made a point of welcoming me to the board soon after I joined in June 2008 and later I had the pleasure (a true privilege) to speak with her on the phone for a couple of hours.

Thank you for your words of comfort and encouragement Mary. May your spirit soar.

I just wanted you to know - the morning after you posted this about Mary and her little mouse, I had a baby mouse show up on my front porch.

I fixed it a special dish with all sorts of goodies and set it out on the porch, along with some dryer lint for her little nest. It appears she's living between our handicap ramp and the original porch stoop, so she's nice and dry.

I wake up every morning, go out to feed her and say "Good morning, Mary!" I just had to name that sweet thing after my friend.

I've been sort of avoiding the animal lately (it's still a sad place most days), so I didn't realize Mary was gone. I wouldn't know now if Abraxas weren't the first member on the Who's Online list...I didn't even know about that feature until now. I'll sure miss Mary. Just the other day, I was telling someone about her unique story.

Does anyone know the outcome of the situation with the elderly man who wanted to die at home with his dog, but wanted to make sure that whatever officials retrieved him didn't take the dog to a shelter...that his dog went to a good home? Was she able to help him? That story made me know for sure that despite the front she sometimes put forth, she was really a very sweet soul.

We'll miss you, Mary! :rose:

PS: One last favor...Will you look after Oliver until I get there?

The dog went to an excellent home. He went to Mary's "Forever Home" and fit right in.

I'm willing to bet that Mary's surrounded by all of our animals right now. Taking good care of them until we get there.

I think all of us animal people are "special", maybe even "chosen" for our job of helping the helpless ones who get overlooked often.

HEY! You guys know what> I just had surgery (no huge big deal, hopefully, but very painfull...'tell you 'bout that later), but right now it's very hard to punctuate and be grammatically correct).
