TLC's showing old old Jon and Kate today....They are showing pre belly tuck and Kate told Jon she's a good plan maker and he's a good follower and he said yep i'm a sheep............Well that says it all. Poor guy. Thank God he's out of that abusive relationship. I hope he finds true love.

Kate Gosselin: My Kids Are Struggling

"Last week on the Today show, Kate said, "Over the weekend I told [the kids] that we're not filming at this point. And actually, times eight, there was wailing and sobbing. They love our crew, they love the interaction, they love the events. There is nothing harmful about it. They are angry."

The Seven Deadly Sins come to mind when I read about the Gosselins.
What fate will become these children. While the parents play act in public, these poor children will no doubt be up rooted to humbler abodes and have to change their names? Kate thinks they are acting out now, its a long wait before they receive any trust money.
I just can't imagine where they all will end up, but for certain J & K don't seem to have any real show business career appeal, guess back to per diem nursing and unemployment. Really Sad. JMO

Dr. Phil’s Advice to Jon and Kate: Stay Together To Make Money!

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2009/10/dr-phil%E2%80%99s-advice-jon-and-kate-stay-together-make-money

Seriously what was Dr Phil thinking? Oh come on! We don't believe a word out of Jon's mouth - unless he says something off-the-wall about Dr. Phil and then we jump right in a believe him? Why? What has Dr. Phil ever promoted against families. I don't believe it.
Im sure he did recomment staying together till they have done everything they can do. He says you have to "earn" your way out of a marriage - with work - untill its clear the marriage is broken. Then you have to work on the partnership for parenting children. Mayby he used that "earn" phrase and poor Jon thought he was atalking about money.
We never suggested he is smart.

That said - what on earth was Kate thinking - if that part is true? She wanted to go on the Dr. Phil show and play the martyr?

I guess they are angry, the only fun they have is with the events the crew sets up. Otherwise, they aren't allowed to get dirty, messy or sticky.
Not much of a life for 5 year olds.

But seriously, at that age they shouldn't even be aware of the camera, let alone be around the crew so often that they think of them like family. Perhaps if they had an extended family, they wouldn't be so attached to the TLC crew.

VIDEO: Jon Gosselin Seeks Advice On Child Rearing At A Synagogue

Jon Gosselin got in touch with his spiritual side Sunday, stopping by Central Synagogue in New York City to catch an event called This World On The Values Network

Gosselin wasn't just there to soak up the ambiance, the dad of 8 asked a panel of spiritual advisors, including Noble prize winner Professor Elie Wiesel, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Mayor Cory Booker and Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, "What two or three values can I use to raise good kids?"

Yes, I watched the first two seasons and then stopped because it seemed like an invasion of the privacy of the children...we were watching things, IMO, that were not for public consumption.

And what Jon may have appeared to be on camera is not necessarily reality, even if he was on a "reality" show. From what I understand, he's been trying to parlay his multiple-births family into a TV show since before the tups were even born!

No, I don't think I am. Jon reportedly told his co-workers that once the tups were born, they would be on easy street. I'm going to add IMO and JMO because I don't feel like looking up the links. What was Jon smoking? Six babies and 2 - 4 year olds and won't "have to work" after they were born. Certainly, he hoped they would be on easy street but there was no quarantee. No one could predict the success or lack thereof the show. Now, of course, those dopes may or may not be without a show. I am glad to see folks with all these kids get free stuff. Why not? The kids are adorable and I don't want to see them go without. All the best to the kids which included the parents. What is that old saying? We can pick our nose, pick our friends but we can't pick our family.

He's his own worst enemy, NOT Kate. No one really knows how the dynamics worked in that family, but I can't tell you how often I felt he needed to just grow a pair and how he probably deserved the Kate-slapping. :punch: What a wuss.

Now that he's running away from his family, he's still every bit as easily lead as he ever was only this time it's his g/f & his other new Jewish friends who are leading him by the nose hairs.

Sing it Spyder! (I always feel like I must give a caveat, that I don't like Kate either or people think you love Kate just because you are calling BS on Jon.) That said, I could never be a friend with someone like Kate, too cold and anal for me, but at least she doesn't unload the passive-aggressive warfare at you. Personally, I would rather handle a wolf than a wolf in sheep's clothing which is what I think Jon is.

I don't think Jon's sheepie days will ever be over though. He will always be stringing along with that which makes him feel good, IMO. I don't ever see Jon as a "leader". Even when he does his talk show circuit and proclaims, "I'm their father and this isn't good for them (the show)." I can see him regurgitating what he's read online somewhere. Just thinking about this whole situation . . . marriage is work. When you have the everyday stresses of life - kids, work, etc. - it's so easy to lose sight of what brought you and your spouse together in the first place. Our family lives a crazy, busy life. At times, we find ourselves with a lot less kindess, affection, humor, etc. towards each other. We start fussing about who didn't do what, and who is wronging the other more. Minor things become major explosions. But then we make a concerted effort to remember why we got together in the first place and to treat each other better. It can be work to get out of that tough place and into the happy place.

Point being - these two are no different. 8 kids, 2 different career directions, a busy life - if one or both of them didn't want to make it work, it wouldn't. Had they never had a TV show, there's no guarantee they still wouldn't have divorced. They both are who they are, and it would have just been a different set of problems tearing them apart - and if one or both of them didn't want to make it work, it wouldn't. It would have probably still been a messy divorce, just with less money and public exposure.

Really, did nobody here watch the show?

All of this Jonwasstayathomedad was just over a short period of time. And Jon had the help of nannies and household help.

Oh, and Kate wrote the books, as well.

BTW, I just read a post on this thread accurately describing JON being the one to be actively trying to cash in on the tups before their birth. Has anyone seen the video interviews of him after the babies were born and in the NICU?

she had a maid ....remember she fired a few of them.

But i do remember the time Kate tried to cook ( actually i think she was boiling water )and she broke the glass top stove LOL

There was a neighbor lady that came by, I believe, every Thursday and folded clothes. I remember Jon cooking something with green onions because he got all freaky when Kate got the white part and the green part mixed together.

I must say, I believe Jon had the house until 8-9 am. Man, when I had little ones, the crack of dawn wasn't early enough.

I see this discussed so often and I just don't see it as her whaling on him like so many seem to. I have never hit my husband like that because that's not the way we "play", lol, but I'm 51 and my remaining brother and I cuff each other (getting rarer since bones break easier, lol) when we're teasing each other. I guess we play too rough but no one has ever gotten their feelings hurt and *certainly* never caused physical pain. Seems kind of full of hyperbole, IMO. They weren't teasing each other..... its no fun when only one person is playing the slapping "game" - even after the spouse has publicly asked her to quit. I found it quite shocking.
No way would a man have have gotten off with that kind of behaviour. THe hitting or the mental abuse. I always wondered; did she never watch the show? If I saw myself behaving like that I would hope once would be enough to make me stop.
Of course I was irritated that he wouldn't put his foot down and say enough! Jump up off that couch and say "I'm not putting up with this anymore". That would have been good film and he would have had a whole country full of support, imo. He did get pretty mad at her once that I saw - when she was ordering him about - but then he just kind of whined about it; there was no authority in his voice. Now its just too little, too late.

What's wrong with having someone come in to clean or have help in folding laundry for a family of 10 people? That would have benefited both Jon and Kate. I believe Jon cooked once (on the show).....a Korean meal. Could you provide a link to other episodes where he cooked, please? TIA He did rewarm some premade meals but I don't think he actually cooked anything. I believe Kate was making soup when the stove top cracked....I think she accidently set a hot pot top on it.

I've broken hot glass casserole dishes by running cold water over them.

I've turned my laundry pink by having the audacity to put a red shirt in with white clothing.

I've had pasta stick to the bottom of the pot because I ignored instructions to stir constantly.

I've run out of gas because keeping the tank full doesn't apply to me.

I've sparked metal in my microwave because I didn't take a small piece off and if I wanted to leave that metal on there, I should be able to, by gum!

I've ripped tags off of mattress and pillows - warnings be darned!

Yes, Jon did most if not all the work related to the kids and house for a time. My memory of Kate is pretty much complaining about being exhausted, sitting in the plastic chair, giving orders to Jon and demeaning him at every opportunity. How she has come out like a flower in this event is a mystery to me. They are both dopes but Jon did himself in with running around smoking, drinking and fooling around with young woman.

I totally agree with you.

I think how she has come out this looking so much better is that she has TLC's PR machine behind her and she's far more careful with what she says and does than Jon is.

Hey there......
That is the way I remember it also, his dad and grandfather. I just wonder if he is really throwing down the drinks behind closed doors. He just keeps getting deeper and deeper. I have known people w/ drinking problems and that is the way it usually goes.........they have to drink more to deal w/ the bad choices they are making because of the drinking.

Yesterday was my 1st day here in awhile. I got really burnt-out on the Haleigh case. Now there is another little girl missing in Fl........sure is spooky. I just read that 10 dys ago in that area a kidnapping was attempted........her name is Caylee. Thank God she got away......but this new girl was not so lucky.

Those cases are just hearbreaking. We've had numerous attempted abductions in my area, in the suburb town next to me. Two of the incidents happened at the mall (less than a mile from my house) and the perp was bold enough to try and grab these kids while they were walking through the mall holding a parent's hand. SCARY. And my kids just can't understand why mom is so paranoid about them being outside.

Anyway, I think y'all are on to something about Jon drinking. I've suspected that for awhile now. He just seems to be in a huge downward spiral. How sad for the kids.

Oh I don't think much of old Katie girls personality myself, (and I would wager that probably, oh 99% of us here would say we would treat people better when we are confronted with divorce or someone's death) but I just can not agree with the folks who say she physically abused him. The smoking thing is truly ridiculous. Kate nailed it on how Jon listens to the person next to him...And obviously he had to start smoking and drinking when he went to the college campus bar/parties (way before the split) and staying all hours at bars, driving home drunk (as per his own words) and/or allowing young women to driven him home to his house (where his kids and wife were) or to her house. Smoking and drinking champagne with Hailey in Cannes. It's just so very pre-teen like in all it's glory. :blushing:

Let's see. Jon just bought two cars equaling about 70K and kate just bought a new SUV equaling 70k ...Yep i'm sticking with they are going through that money like the fast and furious richie rich do....MOO

So i guess you feel like Kates a liar right? Because she said Jon used to not be this way. She said she wishes the old Jon would come back.

Wow, that's quite a leap.

Don't recall saying that Kate's a liar...and maybe she's referring to the Jon BEFORE the children were born...who knows?

She also said he's a great father.............

That may have been true before, but not any longer. He traded good parenting in for smoking, drinking, bar hopping, partying, Manhattan, selling his kids to the tabloids, public dating while still married and publicly trashing their mother.

Nice dad. Not.

These two may just take it to a new level "Gosselin territory"

BBM. I always heard the saying as, "you can pick your nose, you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your friend's nose."

It has been my understanding that Jon was on the gravy train from the beginning, too. IIRC one of the jobs he was fired from was for spending too much time shilling for $$$.

Hey Lavinya, hope you are feeling better!

Kate was pretty pro active in looking for $$$ early on, she is the one who submitted a video to I believe TLC to attract attention. I think both of them share equal blame there.

Kate may have stayed home but she had an army of volunteers, handpicked,to help with everything from laundry to making her coffee (just the way she liked it, she had the instructions posted on her cabinet) and she didn't roll out of bed til 8am. Jon was up and got things rolling, bringing her coffee in bed prior to leaving for work. She worked weekends for a time, kudos to her, I'm sure it helped moneywise and gave her a break from the kids. I don't criticize them for the early years, I just think they have both let their heads swell and started thinking of themselves as celebrities, Kate in particular seems to feel she is some kind of maven of motherhood. That there are thousands of mothers out there who need her advice on raising their children. Not really, her situation is unique and lately the choices she is making are not ones that most mothers would want to emulate, the same with Jon's recent performance as a father.

I used to love watching Kate. She very organized and i love how she used to cook all organic. Then in season three she started treating Jon like he was a dog ( that's just my opinion ) but no matter what Kate said or did Jon has NO right to act the way he does now. MOO

I've read she didn't cook much (and certainly not organic) when the cameras were off. It was a "hook" for the show (IMO).

Reality is just not real, unfortunately.

Then she admits that she only packs heels now days. Maybe you had to see it. LOL.

As I watch the nightly line up of talking heads on HLN I'm reminded of the public stonings I've read about or the Salem witch trials. Everyone gangs up on Jon and Kate.

IMHO he's far more at fault than she ever was. She had to lead him around by the nose. The man is not capable of functioning on his own. Now he had his GF and lawyer to lead him. But he is not much worse than many other men in this world and a lot better than some. At least he acknowledges his responsibility as a parent.

Poor Kate. Aside from being a bit sharp she has the bad luck to be nice looking and efficient, which seems to cause many people to get their backs up about her.

What ever happened to compassion and understanding. This family is going through hell. They would be going through hell whether or not they are in the public eye right now. Their personal pain is far to much to take public opinion seriously.

The public is eating this up, myself included. However, I am not part of the pack of wolves biting at two people who have had the bad luck to fall in their paths.

and i must be a horrible mother because when my children were little if they needed to come in my room allowed them :crying:

I think everyone has a different policy about kids in the bedroom. There is no room in the house that is off limits to my DD, and she's always been welcome to come in when she needs us. But when I was growing up, we weren't allowed to step foot in the formal living room, nor were we allowed to go into my parents' bedroom. Funny thing about our living room growing up is that there wasn't a bunch of nicknacks or breakables in it - my parents just didn't want anyhow to sit on the furniture, get fingerprints on the coffee table and mess up the vacuum pattern in the carpet. Seriously, what good is a room like that?!?!

I have watched this show from the start and I so enjoyed watching them. A church helped them add on to thier house when they first brought the babys home. Now jon just wanted the twin girls they had but kate talked him into having more children or just one more and look what happened. I have a boy and a girl and they or a year a month a week apart and boy did I have my hands full.Just like having twins. My hubby did not help with them like jon did. The min.Jon come home from work Kate started to telling him what to do to help her. He never said a word back to her at that time. Kate had to many rules of her own. We really don;t know what their real life was all about since all we seen was what they filmed and it was at good times. If you have that many children there is not much time for jon and kate to have time for them selfs and that is bad on a marrage. Sometimes the men resent the children because the take up so much of the wife time.I really think as time went on the money went to both of them heads.Kate loves being in the public but Jon don;t he likes the money but don;t care about being seen all the time. It is as much one fault as the other one.I so wanted to watch the children grow up it was a good show. Now it is going to be all about the money.I just hope each child has enought money in their name to see them thru college. They have had help with the children since day one. Every thing just about has been given to them. They have plenty of money now. I really think they would have made it and still be married if they had stuck with just having the twins. now it is never going to work. Kate wants to be on tv and write books and jon don;t want that. They both still want the money. Kate;s brother that has helped them so much and his wife that has keep the children so much for them and has been there for them when they needed them well Kate and Jon did not want them to be paid to be on the show now that was awful. I don;t want to watch the show now because of Jon and Kate. I sure will miss the kids tho. I love them and enjoyed watching them grow up but they need to stop the show because if jon and kate both can't be there for the kids then it is no good.jmho:wub:

Maybe he does take them places, but without a camera following them. We have no way of knowing. Who is TLC to determine how Jon should behave? TLC made an agreement with Jon and Kate that if EITHER of them felt they didn't want the children filmed they would cease. Jon has said he wants filming stopped, maybe for petty and selfish reasons but TLC agreed to that. They had to, how would it look otherwise. Maybe they never thought someone would walk away and now they see their little golden geese getting away from them and are trying to wring every last dollar out of them that they can. Does anyone here actually think , do Jon and Kate actually believe that TLC gives a crap about whether or not this show is good for the kids emotionally in the long run? I sincerely doubt it. The Heene family is just begging for a reality show, let them have a shot at it. We don't have any off-limit rooms either but I can certainly understand why some people have those rules....especially when we're talking about somebody with 8 young kids. It makes sense to not want the chaos in the master bedroom. I do think that Kate could have informed the kids of the rule in a much nicer manner. She was really nasty about it.

Or perhaps she could have taught them just to knock and wait to be admitted. That is what most people I would think teach their children to do, especially with regard to bedrooms and bathrooms. Common courtesy.

I totally agree with Jon about stopping the show for now while this messing divorce is taking place. I'm shocked Kate doesn't agree with him. I know she wants the big bucks but she's already admitted the children are acting out. All the psychologist that have been on tv have said it's time for the show to end.

Now about Jon and his girlfriends....I think he's really messing up and if he loves his children as much as he says he does he needs to put all that aside for awhile and think of his children and get his divorce.

My error, I didn't see the clip and assumed it was from the show. But yes the paps should have said something, I've heard them remark to other celebs about unsafe behavior. Recently, there was a clip of them criticizing Matt Mc Conahy for walking his dog without a leash. I would think they would be at least as concerned for children as they are for a celebs dog.

But Jon should have known better. Plenty of parents do stupid things like that. Didn't CPS pay a visit to Britney Spears after the paps filmed her driving with her very young child in her lap?

He clearly stated last season he didn't want to continue and Kate basically said tough I'm doing it. I think TLC may have had some private
talks with Kate after that, perhaps whispering words like, your own show, money, money, money, no Jon, fame etc. Now that the divorce has gotten ugly, they should stop filming. Let Kate strike out on her own. The kids are in school part time she can film her shows around their schedule. Outside of perhaps an occasional appearance there is no need to continue filming with the kids. Unless TLC isn't so sure the public will watch Kate without the eight.

Published reports that this is the last episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 are wrong, RadarOnline.com has confirmed. As we originally reported, the show will run into November, with some extra footage of Kate being shot to supplement what is left since Jon pulled the plug on TLC filming the kids. Other questions Kate will answer: "Is it fair to say that your relationship with the paparazzi and Jon's relationship with the paparazzi are completely different?" (Yeah, we’re pretty sure we know how that one is going to be answered!)

I have to agree with Jon. IMO the Heemes' father is scary. Apparently his temper is over the top and there is a real question of physical domestic abuse directed at his wife and at his children. He has a criminal record as well. So, CPS may have a role to play with that family.

The radio station offered Gosselin first-class airfare, limo service and first-class hotel accommodations. But he wanted more. MJ Morning Show co-host “Hurricane” told Access the show initially only offered Gosselin two gift cards to Applebee’s, but he wouldn’t bite. A rep for Gosselin requested an “appearance fee ... in the 10-12K range,” and said the Octo-dad was well worth the money. ”[Jon’s] name and appearance on your show will instantly draw press ... and will be a high point for the show,” Gosselin’s rep told the radio station, adding that he’s, “quite funny, sharp witted and interesting.” The Tampa radio host said he “fell out of his chair” when he heard Gosselin’s lofty demands.

I think it is easier for Jon to blame Kate about the dogs than face the fact that he left HIS dogs behind when he made a calculated decision to live in NYC. JMO

It really makes him look even more ridiculous and pathetic when he says silly things like to the pap in the video upthread about how mean ole Kate threw away the dog bowls and everything.

Actually they weren't HIS dogs. Kate wanted them and she wanted TWO at one time. I think she picked a wrong breed. But i agree it's just easier for him to blame Kate then grow a spin and accept responsibility.

MOO

Take another look at the radaronline video. Jon refers to them as "MY dogs" at least twice. IMO, he always consider them to be his. IIRC, Kate said in the past that if they got a dog, she would like a small dog. My guess is that Jon choose the breed since GSDs are a pretty macho breed and Kate went along with it. I also think that the reason that they got two, a male and a female, is because Jon entertained the idea of breeding them....not necessarily to each other but one of each gave him breeding options. I think this idea was referred to by the breeder when he picked up the dogs.

They'll do anything for their fifteen minutes of fame and Mr. Heene doesn't look like he'd object to anything as long as his face is on the TV.

I'm pretty sure Jon couldn't take the kids anywhere without a camera following them, whether it would be by his choice or not.

Jon Gosselin wanted $12,000 to be on the MJ Morning Show

http://blogs.tampabay.com/juice/2009/10/jon-gosselin-wanted-12000-to-be-on-the-mj-morning-show.html

Do you think someone told him that is how much Kate gets? Do we know how much Kate, in fact, does charge for appearances?

About the dogs - I was afraid they would get a small dog - and the poor thing wouldn't stand a chance with so many young children. I was really afraid it would get hurt. But I can't imagine why Kate didn't do her homework; as organized and careful as she usually is. 2 German Shepherds was a really lousy decision. She could have consulted with a dog trainer - someone nearby who she was going to hire to help with dog training, anyway. - and picked a dog more suitable for kids - and with less shedding, lol

It’s probably not a stretch to say that the reason why the Gosselins got two German Shepherds (I say “got” because we know they didn’t purchase them.. speaking of which, I wonder how TLC feels about footing the bill for them now that they’re being given away?) is for protection. C’mon, they’re German Shepherds! They are there to protect and guard the family and the property – and to keep the paparazzi at bay, I’m sure.

I watched both parts of the video. The breeder of the dogs was a security guard at a church where Jon and Kate had a speaking engagement. That's where they met. They were not friends prior to that. Jeff, the breeder, apparently filled Kate's ears with glowing reviews of GSDs.

As far as Kate's words at the 26 second mark, judging by her body language, I think she was goofing around for the camera.

Interesting how different people can watch and hear the same video and come away with completely different information.

I agree with you about the inappropriateness of a small dog.

I believe Kate did do her homework. Apparently she read up on GSDs and talked to the breeder. That is where one usually gets the best information. Trainers aren't necessarily the best source about breeds. They have their own prejudices. I ran into one who didn't like Golden Retrievers. Shocking to me since I find them to be super family/child .friendly..... lousy watch dogs, though.

Personally, I think the choice of 2 GSDs was fine. The problem may have been a lack of consistency with training.....not easy under the best of circumstances. It sounds like sending the dogs back to the breeder was intended as a way to get them better trained.

It depends - if they end up taking after the retriever part, they can end up doing more shedding. I've loved the Labradoodles I've met - adorable, nice temperaments, and I've known several who were trained as assistance dogs, too.

You have to either really be a dog person or a little crazy to take on two puppies at once. We volunteer for dog rescue groups and I've had more than my share of puppies in the house (the most ever was an overnight with 8 very active 8-week-old schnauzers). The chewing, the housebreaking, the training - it takes a lot of time, especially if the dogs don't catch on quickly. It's like having two more babies in the house. If I had 8 kids, I don't think I would have gotten 2 puppies. And if I had, I would definitely have taken them to puppy class and gotten them trained.

IMO

Not sure I would have gotten two either but I don't think it was the breed that was the problem.....just the difficulties of a combination of 8 kids and puppies that needed more training. Even going to puppy kindergarten would have meant spending time training outside of class. Sending them back to the breeder for training may have been a good plan. We've had several friends who just didn't have the knack for training their puppy and sent them off to "Camp" for two or three months. Seemed to work well.

We've done volunteer work with a cat rescue group....no where near as difficult as puppies but have spent a lot of time trying to encourage a scared kitty to come out from under the bed. Pets do take work.
