Good Morning MomofaMarine! Thank you for the new thread. :seeya:
From your link:
And, of course, George and Cindy are merely a sideshow here. The big news is the licensing fee that ABC's "20/20" paid for Caylee footage and photographs. That figure has been put at $200,000 to $225,000. Anthony attorney Jose Baez has acknowledged selling such items, but he hasn't said to whom or how much.
The networks should not be paying these fees. The practice may be standard, but the standard stinks.
Poor Caylee. She had it rough in life. And now the media whores are showing her no respect in death.
Kudos to Hal Boedeker for putting it in print.
I agree. The licensing fee practice is a back door way of getting their story. It is a sleazy practice ... imo.

The State requested the transcript of George's testimony from the GJ because of a discrepancy or discrepancies in his testimony during the GJ and his testimony at the depo.
Any guesses as to what he changed?
Will there be or can there be charges filed against George because of the discrepancy?
IIRC, Judge Strickland's order only releases the GJ transcript to the Prosecution at this time. If the defense gets George's GJ testimony in discovery, will we get it in a doc dump?

Morning everyone, thanks for the links Ma. I have been wondering if the anthonys can be held accountable for the changes made in all their statements, not just the depos. When they gave the video interviews to the FBI specifically? If they lied to them, can they be charged? At the time of those statements LE was still investigating and looking for Caylee, if the anthonys were lying to them about material facts, they should be charges, imo.

e. Grand juries
Section 905.24, F.S., provides that "[g]rand jury proceedings are secret," thus, these proceedings are not subject to s. 286.011, F.S. See Clein v. State, 52 So. 2d 117, 120 (Fla. 1951) (it is the policy of the law to shield the proceedings of grand juries from public scrutiny); In re Getty, 427 So. 2d 380, 383 (Fla. 4th DCA 1983) (public disclosure of grand jury proceedings "could result in a myriad of harmful effects"); and AGO 73-177, stating that it is the public policy of the state to keep secret the proceedings of the grand jury. The grand jury has also been referred to as a "coordinate branch of the judiciary, and as an arm, appendage, or adjunct of the circuit court." State ex rel. Christian v. Rudd, 302 So. 2d 821, 828 (Fla. 1st DCA 1974). Cf. Butterworth v. Smith, 110 S.Ct. 1376 (1990), striking down a Florida statute to the extent that it prohibited a witness from disclosing his own testimony before a grand jury after the grand jury's term has ended.
In addition, hearings on certain grand jury procedural motions are closed. The procedural steps contemplated in s. 905.28(1), F.S., for reports or presentments of the grand jury relating to an individual which are not accompanied by a true bill or indictment, are cloaked with the same degree of secrecy as is enjoyed by the grand jury in the receipt of evidence, its deliberations, and final product. Therefore, a newspaper has no right of access to grand jury procedural motions and to the related hearing. In re Grand Jury, Fall Term 1986, 528 So. 2d 51 (Fla. 2d DCA 1988). And see In re Subpoena to Testify Before Grand Jury Directed to Custodian of Records, 864 F.2d 1559 (11th Cir. 1989), stating that while a court must hold a hearing and give reasons for closure of criminal court proceedings, a court is not required to give newspapers a hearing and give reasons for closure of grand jury proceedings.

Cindy can describe every container ,bag, basket and whats inside them in her garage from a photo but when faced with item 28 from part 2 of her depo" I can't tell if it's paper or whatever it looks like some type of bag, but I don't know what it's made ofjust by looking at the picture. I don't know the size of it I don't know how long it is or whatever so I don't know what that is"
page 339 cindys depo part 2 referring to item 28 the canvas bag Caylee was found in
ALSO
"I'm not really sure the smell was an issue, because at that point I still did not connect the smell to Caylee" At that point?????? as opposed to when you did at some other point?????
page 203 Cindys depo part 2
AND exibit 22 of Cindy's depo
page 321 in casey's handwriting the list.............where the pages of objections begin and finally end on page 329... Is his objection related to the fact that the umbilical cord is on the list in Casey's handwriting as things turned over to Jose?????? seriously?
just a few tidbits...

I use to think that I was a good mom. Now I realized how untrue that is after taking the Cindy parenting test.
I have no idea how many teeth my children have. My kids could not speak full paragraphs at 2 1/2 and what they could say I just nodded as if I knew let alone counting in spanish. I did have one time when my son was 3 I found him sleeping on the floor with the refrigerator open a gallon of open on the floor with the chocolate syrup bottle next to it..(funny but if that constitutes feeding yourself Im good) I also am in the teenager stage so yelling well thats how we say hello apparently. I would need everyone fingers to count how many times my kids "tried" to lie to me or "half truth" me. So I guess I stink as a mom.

Good morning everyone,
Had to stop in this morning after hearing that the Anthony's took a cruise to the Bahamas....I must say that I love it....the reason being, Casey must be livid, she was upset when they had company for chili can you imagine what this is doing to her....to think that her parents are off on a cruise while she sits in prison and all from the riches she brought to them by murdering her daughter.....
The second reason I love it is because it shows just how much this family is alike....I mean, if Casey can go partying while her daughter lay in a lot, then it seems to to explain how Cindy and George can go on a cruise while their granddaughter is dead and their daughter is almost on death row.....And to use the money made from their granddaughter's murder.
Not to mention how Cindy and George claimed they accepted the money for the 48 hr show because they needed it....I guess they got the idea from Casey, she stole Amy's money because she was desperate....
The prosecution will have a ball with this one....
I hope they enjoyed their trip...:sneaky:

Since my Son was born with a bandaid, I counted 'ouchies', instead of teeth. No full paragraphs when he was a young tot. Unless, I wonder, can I count the noises he made when playing? No Dora the Explorer for Spanish. He was learning "Barney Speak', followed by "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". He was remarkable with special effects noise. That really should count for something!!!!

I think that Casey has to be mad that they not only took a cruise, but they **only** put $50 in her jailhouse account. With the daily stipend that is taken out for her "rent" that still will not leave her too much money to use to place her next commissary order. She will have to budget and will probably only be able to afford 1 can of cheese deep this time around.
What happened to the $100 monthly deposits that George used to make?

I really don't think the defense will be able to go anywhere w/the stranger killed Caylee defense strategy at trial. Desmom posted this link y-day:
Docs: Baez, P.I. Disagreed On Payment
'48 Hours' Show Raises Questions
http://www.clickorlando.com/news/21341783/detail.html
From the link:
According to court documents reviewed by Local 6 investigative reporter Tony Pipitone, the DNA Kenney-Baden is referring to is consistent with another FBI analyst who touched the tape. There is not enough DNA to say it was the analyst for sure, but there is also not enough evidence for the defense to go as far as to say it was a stranger's DNA.
So it really wasn't some stranger's DNA on the tape, it was most likely another FBI analyst's DNA. Funny, the defense failed to mention this on 48 Hours. They will not be able to go w/this at trial because the prosecution can explain how the "mysterious" DNA that was found is in fact consistent w/an FBI analyst. The defense won't be able to further their stranger theory because of this. Of course, that doesn't stop them from using it as they are trying their case in the court of public opinion. It is backfiring on them big time.

PrincessR, don't be so hard on yourself, I'm feeling a little 'inadequate' myself. I guess we all are not blessed with such a close knit and loving family. A son who is truly 'gifted' and a daughter who got straight A's until the unscrupulous school created a problem and Casey couldn't graduate. Luckily she has managed to overcome the unfairness in life and has set herself goals that even Cindy couldn't have imagined. All those offers for photography schools that missed out on the opportunity to have Casey as a student, their loss, I guess. Of course you shouldn't shout at your teenage children, you wouldn't want to undermine their self esteem. Ignoring their bad behaviour is the way to go but don't forget to reward them for the ingenious ways of stealing 'ah, I mean making money in novel and amusing ways'. I'm sure 'mistruths' are a harmless way to enhance and enchant new people into your life. Write a book about 'Hairdressing', Cindy take a leaf out of Casey's book and strive higher, a book on 'Parenting and How to Earn Big Bucks at the Expense of your Granddaughter', Oh didn't I mention I also had a granddaughter who was bi-lingual and could make her own breakfast and entertain herself while mommy catches up on her well earned sleep. She is such a treasure, you can bank on her for ever.

the thoughts of a two year old being so adept at "making" her own breakfast makes me wonder how many times MOTY was too worn out from her nights of working to get up with Caylee and feed her breakfast. it brings to mind other questions:
- did Cindy/George know that Casey was dropping the ball when left to tend to her own child in the mornings? they must've if someone prefilled her sippy and set in for her in the fridge and had her cup of cold cereal waiting.
- if Caylee was not potty trained was she sitting in a full diaper while she ate her cereal and drank her prepoured sippy cup of milk?
are these a couple of the reasons, why Lee claimed, Cindy said Casey was a bad mother?

i think its hilarious that in cindys depo, he asks her all these questions about casey as a student through middle school and high school. She has this long lengthy answer on how casey was so awesome in school, blah, blah, but in the end she had a problem with english cuz of switching classes, blah, blah, she ends up not graduating.
Then he asks her about Lee as a student. He was an awesome student as well, was in the gifted and talented program (paraphrasing of course) and he seemed to have no problem graduating.
Final question on that subject, he asks, who was the better student, casey or lee? I actually heard a drum roll in my head when i read................"Casey".

There is a good part to all of this....once it's all over and Casey is convicted all the attention will die down and there will be no more money to be made.....Let's face it, the Anthony's are not making millions on this, only dribs and drabs here and there....It wont be enough to keep them going for ever....
Now, unless Cindy and George create a phony foundation to open up like the Milsteads (if that's their name, not sure), they are going be left high and dry....George never liked to work, and it now appears that neither did Cindy (she just had to)...they don't seem to be working family.....So all of this will come crashing down on them once this case is over and out of the media attention...

Hey there PrincessR, I'm sure Cindy could help out. Remember that you have supported your child from birth, he owes you big time. So encourage his talents and become his manager, take your percentage and invest the rest in a trust fund that you manage and be sure to charge him room and board and of course your fee for his creativity. If his talent is in his genes, make sure you are handsomely rewarded. Kids now a days are so ungrateful. :tonguewag:
PS. Hope to see him on X Factor soon, make sure they always spell his name correctly in the press. As his manager and PR person always get yourself on camera.

There is a good part to all of this....once it's all over and Casey is convicted all the attention will die down and there will be no more money to be made.....Let's face it, the Anthony's are not making millions on this, only dribs and drabs here and there....It wont be enough to keep them going for ever....
Now, unless Cindy and George create a phony foundation to open up like the Milsteads (if that's their name, not sure), they are going be left high and dry....George never liked to work, and it now appears that neither did Cindy (she just had to)...they don't seem to be working family.....So all of this will come crashing down on them once this case is over and out of the media attention...
did anyone see the clip of Kathy asking Brad Conway about any book deals. He seemed pretty defensive to me and replied with the should write a book that have a lot say (guaranteed not accurate).

Good morning,
I was thinking...LE should call Cindy and George in every couple of weeks to "clarify statements that they gave" and let them ramble on and lie and contradict until the trial. Even if it takes years.
I would bet they would come up with lies and embelishments every time they spoke and they will always contradict what they said before. Then LE could tell them; We didnt need anymore info, we just wanted to see the extent of your illness.
Bwaah!
Honestly, absolutely, the Anthony's should be certified.

Well it was certainly obvious that Casey was told to ackowledge and smile at her parents last week when she was in court.
That shows how much the defense and Anthonys are reading what boards like this are saying and of course the media.
Think of all the court appearances that she never even looked at them or appeared to know or care if they were there.
And I am not so sure Casey even knows that Cindy and George went on a weekend cruise.
Does she get all the news about her case or just what Baez chooses to tell her?
I don't believe the Anthonys have a clue as to how stupid and ridiculous they sound when they open their mouths and tell all this
garbage to the media and then why no one but Kathy will question what comes out of their mouths.
I guess they will continue to deny the truth till the end of time and
be convinced that all the world lies except them.
Don't they realize how dumb they appear....most of Cindy's rantings don't even make sense and make Casey appear IMO more guilty.
Don't they understand that "Silence is Golden"

The Anthony's probably will try to write a book (if they haven't already started)...but I doubt it will sell any copies...the few (and I mean few, that we can probably count on one hand) people that are in their corner wont make it a best seller....I doubt that any publishing company will offer to buy the rights because they will know also that it wont sell....
As far as any movie rights go, I don't think that they would have to be bought from the Anthony's because it is all public knowledge, therefore I doubt that the Anthony's would be paid a cent...

I'm pretty sure Casey hears about everything that is going on. Other inmate may yell it over to her, the guards might tell her, and Baez will always tell her before she hears it somewhere else....I do believe they receive the news paper in jail as well...she sure knew of the dinner that Cindy gave at home when Casey first was incarcrated....

GM Barbara, Plus she has a radio in her cell with her. I am sure she is tuned into a news station and has already had a tantrum in her cell about the cruise. If Baez has even gone and seen her lately I have no idea, because of no visitor list being put online. But I have a funny feeling that she was on the jail phone calling him and having him on there for quite sometime.

Your right, i'm sure she calls Baez all the time, as long as Baez accepts the collect calls (because that's the only way calls can be made from prison) unless it's different when they call their lawyers, i'm not sure...she may have to request to see him...
But in any case, i'm sure she has found out about the cruise that her parents have taken....and it must be killing her to think that her parents could be having fun while she is in jail....I hope it makes her think about all the fun she was having while her daughter's body was in the swamp (where she put her).....

GM Sun, I have done the same with the e-mailing of Kathi, but also have had no response. I also e-mailed the girl from myfoxorlando but that was ages ago and received nothing from them also. I wonder why the news stations have stopped, since January, letting this info out. Totally confused to why this would even be. The media in Orlando could have gotten it the same time they found out that her account was in the red. Just baffled.

And, still no word on if the Kasen's motion to stay the civil case until after the murder trial has taken place. Unreal. No swift justice from Judge Rodriguez.

If memory serves, Caylee had the cut by her eye in the pictures taken at Tony L's apartment. I will look for them, there was one of Caylee, one of the two of them together maybe sitting on a couch and one of Casey on a laptop .This shirt would therefore be recent apparel prior to the date of Caylee's demise.

We all knew this before 48 hours aired as it had been reported on so why did Maggie find it while doing all that research before she did the interview. She should have called Baez on it there and then and got a response. By not doing so she is helping them taint the jury pool with half truths.

The Globe had this pic in their mag Oct. 8, 2008, I wonder who discovered this 'FIND'. Whoever it was deserves kudos big time. Why isn't the media all over this?
Just wait until WFTV Kathi Belich gets wind of this. And, LE. And, the State, if of course they don't already have it.
Who sold them the picture?
I know that an earlier article indicated that Baez's daughter Christina, was working that summer with media stuff, and People was one that was named.

We all knew this before 48 hours aired as it had been reported on so why did Maggie find it while doing all that research before she did the interview. She should have called Baez on it there and then and got a response. By not doing so she is helping them taint the jury pool with half truths.
I don't believe there is anything at all that can turn the publics view from Casey being the murderer....This team of lawyers are scraping the bucket and picking short straws at all their tries.....I truly doubt that any of it will taint a jury....
Lawyers always use this type of strategy but it rarely works and at the very most if it should reach one lone juror (who probably would want to make a name for himself) it still would only cause a new trial....but by no way would Casey ever be found not guilty....
LKB and Baez are only playing with the publics intellegence in hope that they reach one weak link, thats all...they themselves don't believe it will work but they want the publicity so bad and will do anything at all to get it....jmo
They make me sick....

I have the impression it was Baez. Maybe casey (at Jose's request) randomly grabbed a bunch of pics from the house, and didn't even pay attention to the shirt Caylee was wearing in this pic.
Or maybe Baez will use this as a defense later.....obviously casey wouldn't have given me this pic to publish if she knew what Caylee was wearing when she was dumped in the woods.

In the first information released regarding the 10 days Padilla spent with Anthony, he said her remarks rebutted what was being said on TV. All Baez has to say is casey provided him with a bunch of photos of Caylee to sell as a means to help pay for her defense. It really doesn't prove he knew anything about what Caylee was wearing when dumped in the woods, or that this particular pic had any special importance or meaning.
The State will be able to find who supplied this pic to The Globe, probably with a subpoena.

Yes, the state can get a copy of the photo from Baez, if he has it. The state can't make Casey testify about it but items in the possession of the defense attorney are not covered by the privilege against self-incrimination.
Even if Baez says he doesn't have it, the state can just buy a copy of that newspaper and use it. I'm not sure what Florida's laws are concerning newspersons' privileges not to testify against their sources, but I expect to see a subpoena directed to the newspaper concerning the photo and possibly a deposition subpoena to the reporter who covered the story. Kathi Belich and her station probably could have resisted turning over their footage of the Anthonys using the rare duct tape to post their "missing Caylee" signs, but instead they chose to cooperate with the state's subpoena, and so might The Globe.

I don't think it was deliberate, it was just an odd coincidence, I've said it before. There are lots of shirts like that, with cute sayings, sold real cheap each summer at walmart, target and kmart. GRACE: What this comment that tot mom allegedly makes, stating, while she`s seeing coverage about the search for Caylee, They haven`t even found her clothes she was wearing, clearly implying that she`s not connected to the clothes anymore. How would she know that?
PADILLA: Yes. She made that statement in front of one of the people that was there with me when we bailed her out. And it definitely brought our attention to the fact that at that point in time, she was making a statement.
Let`s go straight to the source. Padilla, what was the context? What happened? Give it to me in a nutshell.
PADILLA: I`m not sure what the context was, but I know that she made that statement. I might have paraphrased a word or two, but it was a statement that was made. The FBI`s got the statement that was made.
GRACE: Tell me again.
PADILLA: They haven`t even found the clothes she was wearing.
GRACE: They haven`t found the clothes she was wearing. Susan Moss, weigh in.
GRACE: But you know, her own comments may end up doing her in. Very quickly, before we go to the calls, Sue Moss, what does this statement convey? It conveys to me that she knows the child is separated from those clothing.
MOSS: And she also knows where she put those clothes -- that clothing, and knows that it should have been found. If they don`t even find where she put the clothing, they`ll never find the body.

The picture of Caylee being held by the accused baby killer, in the shirt she was found murdered in, is great for the prosecution, imo.

Hi guys! :seeya:
Just had to add my two cents about "gifted" children ...
My son at 18 months spoke his first full sentence (after much drillling) ... I was trying to make him ask for what he wanted instead of pointing and whining ... his first sentence was "I want a Frito" ... he was "very gifted" ... after that whenever he wanted something, anything, he would repeat the one sentence !! Genius huh?
He also knew how to spell at 3 ... and was very proud of himself ... "I can spell, I can spell relief ... R-O-L-A-I-D-S" !!
I soon realized he was more of a mimic than a genius .... LOL

I dont see how this helps anyone. except Caylee died in a shirt that cindy lied about buying.
Caylee's remains wore a shirt proven to have been in the Anthonys' possession shortly before Caylee went missing. Thus, Caylee was not kidnapped by any imagi-nanny who presumably would have changed Caylee's clothing during the 31+ days between June 15 and July 15 (when Caylee supposedly SPOKE TO Casey on the phone, which would require Caylee to have been alive). If the photo was taken the day before Caylee went "missing" then that would be strong evidence that Caylee was actually killed Sunday night - on Father's Day - the night before Cindy and George insist they both saw Caylee alive and well on Monday morning.
We may see C&G and/or the defense try to spin some ridiculous story along the lines of Casey took the soiled shirt off Caylee then brought it and other dirty laundry over to the imagi-nanny's house in the Pooh laundry hamper along with Caylee's pooh blanket, oh yes and a roll of duct tape because the imagi-nanny needed to borrow some duct tape for some reason etc. ad nauseum. There is no knowing that these people will say next.

I have to agree that this pic will be shown to a jury. The Anthonys cannot deny that a Caylee had a shirt like that, and can't say that it must have been a "stranger" that dressed her in it.

In the first information released regarding the 10 days Padilla spent with Anthony, he said her remarks rebutted what was being said on TV. A lead investigator confirms that during one of those trips, Anthony blurted out "They haven't even found the clothes she was wearing" about those searching for Caylee.
BBM
Does that remark imply that Caylee's clothes would be found separate from where Caylee would be found? I don't understand that remark since Caylee's clothes were found with the remains.

Of course it didn't turn out this way, and heck the hearing didn't even start on time, and later we heard about side bars and such, and Judge making a decision on one motion later in the day.
Anyhow...how could the Anthony's have anticipated how long the hearing would last so they could be certain they'd make it to the cruise in time? Do you think they would have just got up and walked out if the hearing ran too long so as not to miss their little weekend getaway?

I can picture Cindy calling in a bogus bomb threat or something so that the ship wouldn't leave without them. Remember, one of Cindy's explanations for she said that Casey's car smelled like a dead body was so that the police would come out quicker. In other words, Cindy is claiming to have lied to the police to gain an advantage over other people who needed assistance from the police.

Does that remark imply that Caylee's clothes would be found separate from where Caylee would be found? I don't understand that remark since Caylee's clothes were found with the remains.
always thought it would mean they would be found elsewhere too, so I too don't understand the remark.

Unless...Cindy found clothes from the murder, and got rid of them.
That would fit.

I have a hard time believing Cindy would have changed the clothing on Caylee's corpse. In particular, I doubt that Cindy would have left the corpse lying so close to their house after doing so. I think Cindy has a little bit more on the ball than Casey - for example, Cindy was able to graduate from high school, earn a nursing degree and hold down a job - and I think Cindy would have done a better job hiding Caylee's body.
I simply wrote it off as just another remark of Casey's that didn't make any sense. I think Casey was deliberately trying to create a sense of mystery, like the whodunnit/psychokiller movies she liked to watch. None of Casey's "clues" meant anything IMO.

They are "working" on their relationship right now. :sneaky:
That just means Cindy had to take George away for a little bit to help him "remember" what happened, after she read his deposition and realized they contradicted each other. Did George have any injuries when they returned from the cruise? A broken hand from being hit with a hammer, for instance.

Note: I think Cindy DIDN'T lie in that one instance; I think Casey's car really did smell like a dead body just like many other people besides Cindy have described. I think Cindy is lying about having lied.

You are correct Kat, she might have done just that... it's the way Cindy's mind works in order to have things HER way. She somehow see's herself as being entitled.
Cindy saying she claimed she said (to 911) whatever it took to get LE out to her house is sooooo ludicruous. Simply telling LE your 2 year old granddaughter is missing and has been missing (unreported) for THIRTY ONE days would get them to your house post haste. Certainly no need to say anymore than that in an effort to get a quick response.
Cindy is a fool if she thinks anyone is buying her back peddling ridiculous explanation for her statement about the smell of a dead body in casey's car.

I have to agree that this pic will be shown to a jury. The Anthonys cannot deny that a Caylee had a shirt like that, and can't say that it must have been a "stranger" that dressed her in it.
The shirt is another link from the crime scene to the Anthony family home.

A quote by JB2506 (here is just a smige of the qoute)
"And if things weren't bad enough we had George & Cindy Anthony on board lapping up all the attention from the other guests - it was nauseating."
I haven't seen any other reponses yet on it.
Maybe JB2506 alerted the media to George and Cindy's return to Orlando?

It is interesting how Kio thinks that Casey named Caylee "Marie" in Kiomarie's honor.
She must not be aware of Cindy marie and Casey marie...not to mention Cindy would NEVER let Casey name Caylee Marie for one of Caseys friends.
Especially an hispanic friend considering Cindy's prejudice against them.

Yes but how are they going to get that in there casey will never take the stand. cindy will be discredited if she tries that story.and if jb says something like that in the opening the jury will be waiting for someone to testify to that. That story will never fly in front of the jury.

Casey probably told her she did name her after her. Hoping Kio would be so flattered she'd volunteer free babysitting services.
Cindy also believes Rico is gay or bisexual, I'm sure he loved reading that!

I had forgotten about her prejudice. Hmmmm, well maybe that explains why the Anthonys don't like Jose...nothing to do with his expertise or lack thereof but his nationality. And I wonder how she would like it if the trial did get moved to Miami. :w00t: And I wonder if she hates Germans too? I would be in her face smiling at her all the time if so. heh heh

I didn't say it would work! Oh and Cindy is going to be discredited for saying MUCH bigger whoppers on the stand! And finally, if they jury is waiting for ANYTHING JB says to proven true, they've got a LONG wait ahead of them!

The three-day cruise to the Bahamas followed a hearing where an Orange County judge dismissed a request to throw out the most serious criminal charges against their daughter.

Inmates have their ways of finding things out.....
As you can see, I'm way behind today. She also has a radio. I don't know how much the local radio stations cover this case, but our AM news/talk radio stations often follow local cases pretty closely.

Naw, they planned the the cruise to celebrate the check they got. They wanted to go for a whole week, but Conway had to get his share.
