Also, did anyone notice how Baez made such a HUGE issue (in Cindy's Part 2) regarding the question LDB asked Cindy: Did you see Casey removing pictures or videos from the home....
He was having a meltdown about the public's reaction to this question and the answer! I can only surmise that it would make HIM look bad, as Casey taking pictures and videos from the home and taking them to HIS office meant that either Casey or Baez was SELLING them!
I really, really cannot describe how SLEAZY this is!!!!!!!

Even though I absolutely believe Casey is responsible for Caylee's death, that's the one thing I agree with Holly about ~ I can't see Casey getting herself "dirty" by handling the decomposing remains, even though Caylee was in three bags. MOO
It is amazing what a person can do when desparate. She had to get rid of the evidence. She didn't have enough time, money, gas and whatever to do a better job. She was aided by bad weather and her mother not being more agressive in seeking her grand daughter.
People find it hard to believe someone they know can kill. I grew up with a man who was brutal in his abuse of a girlfriend's son. I was sick to my stomach to think I had grown up with such a monster. I felt contaminated by the knowledge I had participated in junior high and high schhool activities with him. We don't want to think we could actually know monsters. It is a protective shield we project to deal with horrendous situations.

How about that cement "pouring"? I had myself convinced that we were just talking about the kind of slabs you can buy. Now he can't remember which month he poured the cement?
I think George's depo infuriated me more than Cindy's! How about George not being able to remember ANYTHING about their jailhouse visits with Casey? How about George specifically not remembering what he meant when he told Casey "about that thing that happened to me in the past..."
I mean.....omg....I wanted to pull my hair out with all his evading and deflecting!!!!!

no they dont...neither one of them "REMEMBER".....
MO, its pretty clear to me why they want GA's grand jury testimony.
Definately clear!!!
he lied outright about the gas cans and the tape. the questioning was superb....did he mow sometime after June 24th thru August 1 or get more gas for the cans....wow, did he screw up his answers right out of the starting gate..first claiming he bought new gas cans. *yeah yeah, that settles it....* unfortunately he 'forgot' he bought new cans AFTER August 1st, AFTER LE seized them. and forgot he went to the towyard ARMED WITH GASOLINE.
I was on the edge of my seat during the gas can questioning. Superb questioning, indeed. They had him!!! Then, they let it go. Went on to some other subjects. But then redirected the questions back to cutting the grass on the 24th. And he did the same thing again. He screwed it up!!!
the lying is incredulous. especially about breakfast with Caylee: after Cindy already said "she didnt see either one of them" "but heard THEM sleeping"....now GA says that Cindy saw Caylee. and GA checked on Caylee THAT NITE IN CASEY's Room, but DOESNT RECALL IF SHE WAS HOME, but Caylee was sleeping in there.
Seriously, if myself and another person were to decide to lie to save someone else, I'd be sure we got together and had our stories straight on the most important things.
????
unfortunate for them: Cindy's text msgs with Lee about Baez 'having communications from Casey" and Lee texting Cindy "DONT TELL THE PRESS ABOUT ANY LETTERS FROM CASEY"....
Thank you for bringing that up. I was wonder why they kept asking George about contact with Casey. They spoke of certain times when Cindy knew things, but couldn't figure out how, if she hadn't talked to Casey. IE - who's apartment was the drum set in.
I cant begin to enumerate all of the lies he told during the deposition. there are so many. I am esp fond of the Conway reference regarding books deals etc. 'maybe thru Brad' when he had to qualify his answer (page 317) now we know why brad is still hanging around.
There is alot of them, lol
GA is following her friends around...cant wait until the lawsuits start.
her friends know more than what they admitting? but not Casey? GMAB.
Funny, aye? Everyone but Casey. Red flags, gut feelings, theres something odd there. Everything is fine with CMA though. She's to be believed, even thought she lies, cause her mis-truths are some kind of code that means someone else is involved.
also noteworthy: asking GA why 'they' back down when Casey gets IRRITATED. (she's tired, she's annoyed, blah blah)..... that was reallllllllllllllllllly good questioning. kid gloves. why GA, why CA?
I need to go back an re-read that portion
psychopath?
.......who had a proclivity towards rage threats and violence. IMO
IMO, Caylee was pinched, slapped and dragged when Casey was 'irritated'. they saw it. and now they have to live with those images the rest of their lives. whatever 'bones' GA threw investigators in the beginning of this case, mentioning her thefts, her lies, IMO, it was 100 times worse than what he was 'being honest with you guys about'....again, they will have to live with the truth they were trying to hide....and are still trying to hide.
Just like the jail house, fist waving incident. Without the watchful eye of the camera or a pair of handcuffs preventing her from doing harm.
the lawsuits will be interesting......slandering innocent people again and again AND profiting from this death..... hopefully, the injured will sue for personal damages which will drain every bloody (blood money) dime from them. .....forcing them to go get jobs.....

To my knowledge that is the ONLY thing Strickland sealed. I don't understand how Jose was allowed to object to what Cindy saw regarding Casey taking things out of the house.

Interesting. I interpreted this a bit differently. I thought Dr G meant that the tape held the mandible to the skull, and was the only reason the mandible was still in position after the decomposition rendered it a mere skeleton. In other words, there was no more skin, flesh, ligaments, etc. to hold the two parts together - nothing except the duct tape.
That's what I interpreted Dr G as saying.

Oh....and I LOVED how Ashton made it clear that CINDY was the one who FIRST brought up to Casey about the "family being in danger" during one of their jailhouse visits! He also made it clear in that first car ride on July 15th with Casey, that Casey NEVER MENTIONED "danger" as an excuse not to take Cindy to Caylee.
Did anyone notice how much more polite, civil and less talkative and circuitous Cindy was in this Depo? It almost seems she works better with a woman asking her questions than men. When she underwent questioning by the Police and Morgan, she was aggressive, defensive and disrespectful.

How would her hospitalization discredit her ability to recall?
Actually it is her inconsistent statements regarding the searching of the area that will discredit her. It also will be shown how she has attached herself to this case for her 15 minutes of fame. She needs to get a life.

It was funny how at the end of Part 2 Cindy, when LDB was getting Cindy's opinion of what she thought happened to Caylee and how Cindy said she still believe Caylee could be alive....how Andrea Lyon tried to stop it by RUDELy interrupting, asking when this would wrap up as she had a daughter sitting there, hungry!

I agree. They should pick a side and stick with it, rather than swag and sway. Since they have foreign DNA on the tape, better to argue that rather than argue contamination.
Did Cindy say Casey had to have help? I know Anne Downing (sp?) said it, did Cindy say it too?

From the way I understood the report they never said the dna was "foreign," just that they were unable to identify it.

It makes them all look bad, imo. Which is to say, it shows them for who they are.
Jose, in pitching his little fit, revealed more than if he'd allowed Cindy to craft another of her lies in response to the question. Not only did he confirm what was in His Girl's humongous backpack, he also confirmed he knows just how filthy it is to profit off a dead toddler.
It's really suspicious, imo, that they knew so early on to get those photos and videos out of the house and locked up for safekeeping. I wonder if the state will be able to use that fact as further evidence Casey knew her child was dead. Why else would she be delivering all that stuff to her lawyer for "future use?"
Ooooh, I forgot about that huge backpack!! You're right! Remember how much everyone here speculated about what could be in that backpack?
You're right - Jose would have been better off going with Cindy's answers - he totally revealed his hand with his protestations. I think they thought of those photos and videos early on, due to outright desperation to get PAID. It DISGUSTS me!!!!!!!!

That subject was not discussed in Lee's depo, I wonder if he didn't have use immunity. And what was Lee's attorney doing during the entire deposition. And speaking of which, if I were representing Casey, I would have been objecting to most of the questions on the basis of calling for speculation, vague and ambiguous just to protect the record for trial purposes.

I've loved that gal (LDB, not AL) since the bond hearing when she went toe-to-toe with Cindy.
And ITA about her grasp of the gazillion details of this case, plus she seems to have cross-referenced all the lies and knows exactly what to ask. I loved her questions to Cindy about the details of Caylee's life, and I was not surprised in the least to see how little Cindy really attended to what was important to CAYLEE.
I'm beginning to think Lyon uses her size and the set of her face to intimidate people. She, along with the rest of Team Casey, has two distinct faces -- the one she showed while she was "consoling" Casey at the hearing, and the one she showed walking down the sidewalk after Belich asked her if she had her law students prepare the latest mess of motions. She's an actress for sure, that one.
I agree! I, too, noticed how Lyon uses her physical to intimidate (my Mother-in-law, although tiny, does the SAME!). And when she uses her "sweet" voice, it really throws me off! (ditto for my MIL,)
Yes, I agree about LDB knowing all the lies/cross-referencing and that comforts me! Looks like they will NOT allow the defense to get away with anything over them!

Oh ... is Baez representing Casey? He was clearly there to represent his own interests in cashing in at some point down the line, imo. Quiet as a mouse until the subject veered toward payday questions.
He's a rank amateur, emphasis on rank. And I doubt very seriously he wants to go toe-to-toe with either LDB or Ashton without anyone in the room he can impress or who will protect him from the big, bad state's attorneys. What a complete embarrassment the man is.
I pretty much skimmed the depo, but what it appeared to me was there was a prior ruling that prohibited the State from getting into that area. That's why Baez told Cindy to zip it. Conway should have been the one to instruct his client not to answer, but since he wasn't controlling her, Baez stepped in.
My first depo, the co-defendant was being deposed and was blaming my client for everything. I objected to every question for 2 reasons ... (1) objections as to form of the question are waived if not raised at the deposition (2) I didn't know what else to do to stop the co-defendant from dumping on my client.

I seriously doubt Baez could form enough coherent sentences, especially based on his demonstrated vast knowledge of the law, to present any sort of challenge to the prosecution. I've never seen a poorer communicator in the profession of law. He can't think on his feet, his grasp of the English language is abysmal, and his first impulse is to go all snarky and smirky. It's not a pretty sight. I suspect the state would've eaten his lunch if he'd tried to interfere. He's just not up to the task. Hardly a worthy adversary. And he seriously likes to do his best performances with a much bigger audience, and preferably with Judge Strickland available to bail him out.
Can't say that I disagree.
He also misses opportunities to make a record. The prosecution demanded that Casey be present at all court hearings, that she not be allowed to waive her right to even a simple motion.
I would have come back with a motion to allow her to attend all of the depositions, since the State thinks its imperative she be at the motions and the motion can't go forward without her presence, then I would argue that it is equally imperative that she assist the defense in all of the depositions. Not that I would win, but at least to make a record.

The last time she was questioned by Maggie Rodriguez, it was the same thing. Someone obviously gave her the advice to tone it down 80notches. Either way, she's sickening to watch.
If we're talking about anyone other than Cindy, after the hammering she received after her M&M Depo, you'd think she would learn......but I have my doubts about Cindy. She's one stubborn.....

With regard to what's behind the questions ... maybe I'm missing something really obvious, but how do you think the pros will use all the lies of her parents in the case against Casey? Is it part of the timeline they're building? Are they trying to fill in the blanks based on stuff they know that perhaps we don't? Like the whole gas can line of questioning. To what end?
ETA: Not that I'm not enjoying every letter of every word, mind you, but I'd like to know where all this is going eventually.
Just like in the Depos, there will be some things that will not be productive to bring up or chase after, even knowing they are outright lying. The "bigger picture" is more important - to convict Casey/justice for Caylee.
The gas cans, though, are important - as it helps tie in the duct tape. George made a MESS out of his explanations and after reading how the prosecution slowly wound him around, seems they will have all the loose ends tied up by trial and will nail him - in a nice way, of course.

The State needs the Anthony's for the timeline of when Caylee went missing, the lengths Casey went to in hiding the fact that Caylee went missing, etc.
At some point, they are going to have to make the decision of whether they want to discredit the witnesses that are going to establish a big part of their case. It's a fine line. They want the jury to believe them with respect to all of the things that incriminate Casey, but if they discredit them too much, then will the State be left to argue out of both sides of their mouths ... believe Cindy when she said the car smelled like it had a dead body in it, but don't believe her when she says ....

Thank you, Betty! Andrea said "Oh for God's sake," in response to LDB's assertion she was there to protect the CHILD and NOT the family. And then Lyon studied Casey very carefully, her eyes never left her face, and Casey didn't even flinch, but she did eventually lean over to say something to Lyon.
That was such a beautiful moment for me. And what made it even better was Linda actually disagreed with Judge S. when he said her interest was to "protect the family." That speaks volumes to me about how LDB feels about the victim in this case, and how she's been sacrificed over and over and over, literally and figuratively, by her "family." And she was 2 years old. I feel even better now about the prosecution than I did before. With that kind of skin in the game, imo, Linda will be able to fill in some possible forensic gaps with the passion she shows the jury about how Caylee was sacrificed by her entire family.

I think pin pointing that Cindy related that the information came from Casey as to some of the activities that Cindy 'believed', that Cindy did not have independent information from anyone else to verify what Casey stated to her was one area Linda DB was making a record about. This way it could be related that Casey lied to her mother about a lot of things.

Just like in the Depos, there will be some things that will not be productive to bring up or chase after, even knowing they are outright lying. The "bigger picture" is more important - to convict Casey/justice for Caylee.
The gas cans, though, are important - as it helps tie in the duct tape. George made a MESS out of his explanations and after reading how the prosecution slowly wound him around, seems they will have all the loose ends tied up by trial and will nail him - in a nice way, of course.
imo
Didn't he, at first, say he did not use the cans between July 15th and the date they were taken out with the search warrant? Then they came back around where he said without their prompting him that he did fill one up to mow the lawn. But he couldn't remember which one. How ironic. Wouldn't he use the one that just contained gas and not the one with the gas/oil mix.

They are either blinded by Casey's line of carp or they looked the other way because they didn't want to be bothered.

Have you tortured yourself with George's depo, yet?
He talks about how he found Casey wasn't working at Sports Authority and how he had to let it go. Cindy scolded him for not trusting his Daughter and creating family problems.
He was asked about a line from suicide note in which he says that it's his fault 'she's gone' that he learned things in the past year or so, and had to 'let them go'.

Just had a thought. Didn't Cindy say Casey got them into Universal's Halloween haunted house long after she was no longer working there? Perhaps that's why Casey swiped someone else's ID. She needed it to continue the ruse by gaining access to Universal for certain events Cindy asked her about?
How about when LDB artfully got Cindy to admit that everything Cindy thought that Casey knew from "being on the inside" about the goings ons at Universal - was actually the SAME things CINDY knew about just by listening to the radio!!!!
Wonder if Cindy caught that?! LOL!

Plus, the lying was a big part of the fabric of their lives. They all lied, they all knew they were lying and being lied to, and after a point I would imagine they didn't even make much effort to find the truth. They were probably trying to force the truth out of Casey by lying to her ... know what I mean?

Why, yes, I believe you have. And it's still totally appropriate.
Aside from the Don't-Want-To-Be-Bothered scenario, I think there was a hefty dollop of Don't-Disturb-The-Sleeping-Witch justification for their reluctance to rile Casey.

Even one of Casey's friends {Can't remember who} said that she didn't believe Casey about her job. It just didn't make any sense to her that Casey didn't have an education, was so young, yet managed to 'score' this wonderful, dream job, where she worked from home alot.

I don't know if I will ever get through part 2 of Cindy's interview. Besides it being long, my house becomes grand central station every time I open the link.
I am up to the Universal ID. It clearly has "Chris" on the id, yet Cindy said it was Casey. She said it was common for the employees to switch IDs. (page 161 http://www.wftv.com/pdf/21310288/detail.html )
Anyone else buying this story?
I wonder if any employees named "Chris" had to get a new ID tag because his/her's was "lost".
Im glad you bought that up......classic Casey and her sticky fingers. IMO, she STOLE IT. goes hand in hand with Cindy BRAGGING how they were just at Universal (disney something or another) and Casey got them in FREE IIRC.) however, as we all know it was almost 2 years that Casey had not worked there....and Cindy was talking about an outing in the last year IIRC.
Cindy doesnt get it...YET....every lie she tells to 'make Casey look good', gets derailed by FACTS which proves she is lying....makes an excuse for Casey having someone else's ID?.....which is probably the ID she blamed LE taking that nite, (which they didnt)....which she said oops I found it in MY BEDROOM IN A DRAWER *geez I dont remember putting it there*...and then admitted that she gave it to Baez.....
does LE have that ID now? and what of the ID in her wallet that was taken by LE that nite?
noteworthy: during GA's interview with LE he stated he told Cindy they had to give LE information, cant withhold things, OR THEY WILL NEED A LAWYER SOON.
again, information indicates Cindy deliberately withheld information from LE. the ID being the latest tidbit.

I agree - never, never, never. Never in a million years.

she sure is toxic msgatorslayer......defense should ask her a couple of questions and release her. its going to be NASTY....IMO
I am still wide-eyed reading GA's statement that he doesnt think caylee is dead....he wants to read the reports about DNA.....and I enjoyed how the state said: YOUR ATTORNEY CAN GET IT...ITS PUBLIC RECORD.
what a buffoon.....
and then his mini advertisement about MISSING CHILDREN....unbelievable...
he's a scammer. would love to know what wife #1 has to say about him.
IMO
best regards,

*waiting on maggot evidence.....*
BBM - Yeah, he doesn't believe Caylee is dead - YET - in the 48 Hour Show, done around the same time as the depos, he says he "can feel Caylee's spirit with him...."
eta - oooh - yeah....I'd love to hear what wife#1 would have to say, too!!!

I did alot of skimming, trying to get to the beefy portions, so I missed some interesting things that others have mentioned. Patience is not one of my finer points, lol. The Anthony's make that even harder that it is.
My favorite part of the depos comes from George though. He is nailed good about the duct tape and gas cans. And those items are important to the case against Casey. Chalk one up for the state!!
Did you read in Cindy's Depo how she says that they used duct tape at the command center to hang things/pictures up, etc?? I wonder if that is what tipped Kathy Belich off about looking for the posters hung with the duct tape?

Yes, I did read that.
Would Kathi have had access to these depos at that time, though? Or did 'someone' leak the info to her?

And another thing.........I haven't been able to get to the boards till tonight........did see 48 hours last night................Cindy is babysitting a child?????????????? What is wrong with that child's parents?? How much more bizarre can it get?
And when LKB said there was dna that was not able to be identified, was that correct? I know one was from the FBI person. Was there another dna that could not be identified? If so, maybe it was the person who last used the duct tape before Casey.
My opinion is the DNA test is not identified as either male or female. The Amelogenin locus determines sex. Therefore it cannot be tested for a conclusion.

It becomes harder and harder to find words to describe them.

After reading all the Anthony's depo's, I conclude Jessie will be thrown under the bus.
The retraction by Cindy of George changing the locks just had me shaking my head in disbelief.
Jessie had a key to the house, Jessie could have given it to Zanny,
so Jessie is Zanny the Nanny, Cindy?

I wondered if it had been leaked after I read Cindy's comments!
Cindy seemed quite "open" about many aspects of the questioning (I can't believe I just said that! lol!) as opposed to George, who was evasive and kept trying to put the responsibility on Cindy. Bizarre.

Everyone knows the original Zanny story given to LE will not fly. It's impossible to use that story and not get convicted.
So they've flipped it!! Casey was giving clues to who the real kidnapper was so they could all play detective with their bat phones to put the puzzle together.
That's equally as stupid. IMO
Now it seems like the defense team may go with a 'stranger' did it. Remains to be seen how this story will develop. Will it be a good one? Highly unlikely.

List of the Invisibles - are there more that I missed?:
Juliet Lewis
Jeffrey Hopkins
Zachary Hopkins
Zenaida Fernandez Gonzales
2 Children belonging to ZFG
Samantha Fernandez (ZFG's sister)
Gloria (ZFG's mother)
Raquel Ferrer
Tom (Casey's boss at Universal - forgot his last name)

Something I'd like input on. Maybe I skimmed to much and missed it.
George is shown pictures of the freezer out in the garage. With different items on top of it. He insists that those items don't belong there. Why? Why is he being asked about this and why is he saying somesings wrong.
He's also asked about who it is, in the family, that likes popsicles. He says they all do. Again, what is the state getting at?

It just blows my mind that whatever poured out of Casey's mouth they believed...or should I say, they claim to have believed.
They are either blinded by Casey's line of carp or they looked the other way because they didn't want to be bothered.
jmo
imo, it's because they didn't want to "irritate" her (as per george's depo) :cursing:

Wasn't the matching laundry hamper that Caylee was in found in the garage somewhere??? Maybe on the freezer?
And IIRC Tony told LE that Casey has popsicles in the grocery bag when he picked him up from Amscott....not sure why that is important tho.

I remember that he did say Caylee liked the popsicles, too. I think George was just rambling about what they keep in that freezer. I don't think it was the State that initiated that line of questioning. I think.
I can't remember about the things on top of the freezer....I remember Cindy saying that LE ransacked the place.

I don't remember the details. They asked alot of questions about the garage. The ball thing that was bought at a garage sale for Caylee. The trash bags, the hamper.
You're probably right. Items that are tied to the remains are what George is trying to explain away.
Yes, Casey had some popsicles when TonE picked her up.
George was asked what types of food they store in the freezer.
Maybe they are trying to connect Casey, to the freezer getting the pops, and taking the laundry hamper thing at the SAME TIME??

Butting in here as I finished reading Lee's depo. this evening, but was anyone else surprised when Lee claimed that Amy was a heroin addict? That one threw me for a loop. He also said that she was not actually Casey's friend. I guess he missed the copies of the text messages to show how often the girls communicated.

Yeah, that was rather shocking.
Even IF she was, she had alot more going for her than Casey, lmao.
Including money in the bank for Casey to steal. And she's not sitting in jail.
Lee, or George, or both, heck, I can't remember. Have some drug ring idea going on about Fusions and the guys, too.

I watch the TV show Intervention and I've never seen a heroin addict hold down two jobs like Amy does  I think Lee is so off the mark when it comes to Casey's "new" male and female friends, among other things.

I'm getting up the energy to read Lee's depo tomorrow.
I can't imagine that Amy, who was a hard worker and had money saved - could be a heroin addict. Doesn't even compute - but then again, it's LEE saying this!

Yeah, it's total BS.
But they have to get revenge on Amy in some manner. After all, it's her fault Casey's facing check charges.

There are definitely several interesting parts. The dynamic in that family is like nothing I've ever seen. In some ways it seems like Lee really keeps his distance from the family, but yet he has this strong sense of blind (and deaf and dumb) loyalty to them.

Night everyone!
I hope we can continue this conversation at some point tomorrow.
I am getting sleepy, although I do want to point out that Cindy and George are only willing to accept theories who feel that Casey is innocent and who feel that Caylee might still be around (I guess playing on the sand in Puerto Rico)??????

Could anyone tell me just what Casey had to say to LE or anyone in her family, after LE took her to Sawgrass apartments to see where Zanny lived and where Casey supposedly dropped her off when she babysat Caylee? I mean what was her explanation when they told her no one had
lived there for months? How did she try to get around that? Or what did Cindy say to that big lie Casey claimed to be true? Didn't that alone send off some kind of signal to Cindy and George that it was all a big lie? I have never read or seen anything regarding this.

George is not a good liar. Nothing that Ashton was asking him about the tape should have caused any confusion. George just wasn't wanting to answer the guestions that Ashton was asking.
....I can't wait to see what the impact is of the video footage that Kathi Belich uncovered, that shows the Henkel brand duct tape being used at one of George's command centers. (the tape on a Caylee is missing poster)
IMO Geoge will say he didn't put the tape on that poster because it wasn't done neatly.
One of the odd things about the interview with George IMO was this: If nothing seemed out of the ordinary then why couldn't he remember if he had cut grass between 6/24 and 8/1. IMO if you're like things neat, the car, the tape, the garage then why not the lawn too.
It seems George had a system for doing everything i.e. rotating tire etc.... so did he have a system for cutting the lawn?
