I'm not a country fan but I admire this man for putting his children and family before his career! But I'm very glad he's coming back!

I thought he had done this a time or two before, but it's still great. I love Garth. I'll look foward to seeing more of him. I saw him once in concert. He was great!

I'm not a country fan but I admire this man for putting his children and family before his career! But I'm very glad he's coming back!I believe Garth Brooks always planned on only a temporary retirement while raising his family (which is admirable) but I also beieve this is his second family. He cheated on his first wife with Trisha Yearwood. I know this kinda stuff happens, esp among stars, but he's not a candidate for sainthood yet.
Oh...and I really do love Garth's music. The Dance is the song that kinda turned me on to country music.

He doesn't have a "second family". He has his daughters with Sandy and he has a second wife. He doesn't have any children with Trisha. Thanks for the info. :)

Back when I was in college in Nashville (loong time ago), I was calling a friend and accidentally messed up the number and got Garth's voice mail. I freaked out and hung up. Later I figured, what the heck, I'll call him and talk to him. But darnit, I could never recreate that screwed up number. I tried rearranging and changing numbers in all sorts of combinations, but to no avail.
Not really a country fan, but it sure would've been fun to just call back and say hi!
