If this is the guy, it's wonderful news. I just wonder what else and who else he's harmed in the past 19 years and got away with it?

This link shows the police sketch drawn from Jennifer's description of her attacker. It's AMAZINGLY close to the driver's license photo of Dennis Bradford at about the same time.

And to think that this little girl was only in the second grade at the time...

What a story! What a survivor!

She was incredibly accurate given her horrific experience. What a monster and like others, i wonder how many he hurt or missing children in areas he lived can be put down to him.

I saw her on TV today..she is beautiful..and to think she laid there, I think they said..14 hours, with her throat slashed from one side to the other, before she was found..and thanks to the advances in DNA testing..they got him..amazing.

Bradford served time in Arkansas for the 1996 abduction of a 35-year-old woman he had met at a nightclub. He also raped her and slit her throat.

I saw the press conference for this on CNN. It is incredible. They linked it up via CODIS.. this case was so cold, it was frozen. There were never any person of interest/suspects in this case.

Editing and deleting part of my post.. I was thinking earlier that maybe the perp was the one responsible for the Calder Road murders -- Laura Miller (Tim Miller's daughter) was one of the victim's.. but I read the perp is only 40 years old.. which would have made him only 15 when those murders happened in 1984..

CODIS is a great tool, but only 21 states allow DNA from arrested felons. The other states require a conviction before DNA is entered into CODIS. Lives can be saved if laws are passed.

DNA SAVES:

Watch the video and look at the states.

Off my soapbox and JMO.

The likeness is incredible. I'd be useless even at my old age of 53. I'd probably get hair colour, style and any facial hair right but that would be about it. When it comes to height, I've no clue. I could say he was about the same height as someone who was interviewig me, for eg. and the same with weight.

here's a little more on the case along with the arrest warrant in the Dickinson, TX case....very graphic & horrible details of what the victim went thru

What I'm really curious about --- this is how 9yr old Amber Hagerman of Arlington, TX was killed in 1996. She was abducted & her throat was cut ear to ear.

If he was in Dickinson and then headed up to Arkansas early 1996, it makes me wonder if he made a stop in Arlington....

The Arkansas case occurred in April of 1996 -- Amber Hagerman of Arlington, TX was abducted January 1996.

If you map Dickinson to Hot Springs (where the AR case occurred) - it goes right up to I-30 which is definitely near Arlington.

Hopefully Arlington Police Dept will look for any possible links.

This is just fantastic. This child kept her wits and gave a very good description.
I'm not surprised DNA is not collected at birth. Glad CODIS got this jerk.

Wow. Bless this young lady's heart. I can't imagine that her life since the crime has ever been normal. I hope that she has some peace now knowing that this monster is behind bars. And please, TX, give this POS the justice that has been long overdue.

I hope that cold case detectives anywhere in the south are plugging any DNA samples they have left into CODIS.

I grew up in Clear Lake, by NASA, which is about 10 miles from Dickinson. There have been a lot of abductions in that area. I was looking into Laura Smithers murder, but that happened on April 3, 1997 & he was arrested in April 16th, 1996.

I bet this guy has other crimes he needs to be held accountable for. hopefully Arlington Police is thinking the same thing you are..

WOW! I hope the arrest of this POS will make the LE look into more cold cases. I am willing to bet that these crimes are a drop in the bucket for this guy. Yay Jennifer! I bet she is breathing a HUGE sigh of relief today!

Wow! Excellent police sketch given by Jennifer, including the description of his vehicle. The crime scene photos at the link were very interesting. God Bless Jennifer!

I hope the big state of TX gives this creep what he deserves.

Excellent a child rapist caught!!!!

Now imagine that people call for his release because it happened 19 years ago, such as they call for Polanski release. :cursing:

Good point. People would have a fit at the thought, which they should. I still hope they strap him to a fire ant hill until trial.

Wow so did it take Jennifer pushing and someone decided to check the dna? Otherwise it would still be a cold case? I would think for unsoved cold cases LE would at least once a year or something re check just in case. If that makes sense. It makes me want to push hard for all unsolved cold cases to be reviewed. Over and over until there is resolution.
I was so happy when I saw how strong Jennifer is/was. Did my heart good.

What a survivor she is!! How did she survive that kind of injury for 14 hours before being rescued? It is just a miracle! I like the way she says she is not victim, but a survivor. She is such an inspiration.

I'll admit it would be very hard for me to imagine that.

That's because, as dispicable as Polanski's act was, it comes nowhere near what this perp did:

"...kidnapped her, slit her throat and left her to die..."

He also left her on an ant hill and as a result she "was bitten many times by ants".

This poor woman endured far more horror than anything Polanski dished out.

I'm not joining with the "set Polanski free" crowd here. But seriously, let's be a little more realistic and not make an apples-to-oranges comparison, okay please?

Wonder how many times he did NOT get caught. There is no cure for these Perps

None of these creeps should ever get out, but they do. Over and over again.
