And What Would You Talk About?
That is easy for me - Sean John Coombs. I am his biggest fan after his mother.:wub::wub:

he's not really a celebrity but he thinks he is based on all of the "visits" he does...
Barack Obama
question I would ask him: Can you speak without a teleprompter without saying something you might regret later? JMO
Robert Plant and talk about his music.

I think Mickey Rourke would be interesting to hang out with and I would want to go to lunch where we could both bring our lap dogs. What would we talk about? Our love of dogs of course. lol

Yeah, but..the difference is...we now have a president who can actually READ a teleprompter.
And if he utilizing a teleprompter, the speech is already formatted..so how can he regret something that has been previously written?
Besides that.. your issue belongs on the politics board.
The question was would he regret something he said WITHOUT reading the telepromopter.
So much for your little crack on "someone else's" reading ability.

Nice, smart, very kind fellow: I started to love him - as did the much of the rest of the world - during Katrina. It would be great if Jon Stewart could join us. Oh lets make it a foursome with Joy Behar; both those men like her and I do too. Wow - I would hope for a nice long lunch. And keep the wine flowing, LOL.

Robert Redford. Yum!!
I would talk about how my little male Yorkie looks just like him with his blond hair falling in his eyes.
I'd ask him if he is interested in an affair. LOL

I hope it isn't too late for me. Does it have to be only one person? I would love to have a cultural mix. I always find it so interesting to hear about cultures that are foreign to me. So my choice would be several of my fellow board posters. Their thinking process and methods of addressing issues, to me at least, give just a glimpse of the sort of person they are. And no, it wouldn't just be the ones who tend to generally agree on many of the crimes.

I would love to sit down with any of the people you posters have already named. So many rockers I'd enjoy shooting the breeze with (dead and alive).
But I think I would love to have lunch with Ellen D., Chelsea Handler, SJP, Kristen Davis, Kim Catrall(sp).
Dang. You took mine. Guess we'll all have to hang out together. :)
My real fantasy would be to sit down to drinks and dinner with not only Robert, (I hear his close friends call him Bobby), but Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones. That would be great!

Great ideas everyone. I've been thinking about this since it was posted and couldn't come up with ANY "celebrity" I'd want to have lunch with.
But working with the above ideas, how about Rachel Ray cooks, Robert Redford brings the wine, then invite Anne Rule and Jennifer Crusie (wow is that a leap or what), and Andy Griffith and Jerry Mathers(my DH would love that!). Bonnie Raitt could come, too, and serenade us over after dinner drinks.

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN!!! I would love to talk about his music, and how much it has meant to me since I was a Teen-Age "Jersey Girl". I would like to thank him for putting his heart and soul into every concert I ever attended! I'd love to hear about his life and his inspiration!
He just turned 60, and he's still rocking and amazing!!!!

Celebrity..now there is the base issue..
If we are talking Hollywood...I'd say Robert Deniro. Talk about whatever comes up..I'm sure he has journals of wealth of information. (Others would be Jack Nicholson and Al Pacino.who are still alive...another...Elizabeth Taylor)
If we're talking political celebrities....the recently deceased Kennedy, Ted. I want him to explain Mary Jo..FOR ONCE.
Music? Phil Spector..OH..how I would enjoy hearing what he had to say behind bars.
Art? have to do with the deceased....Degas. (or Monet)
Sports? Oksana Baiul...."what when wrong"?
Food? Could care less...but probably that NUT on TV with the Chef Channel?
Economy..WHO?
If can go back that far..Socrates..and Shakespeare...that would be great..no matter what the lunch consisted of!

Michael Jackson: I would have told him that I understood what he went through in his life.
Madonna: Would want to talk to her about some of her creative work, for example the video of "Deeper and deeper".
Axl Rose (when he was younger): Would have wanted him to sing for me.

I love her bold indivual personality and her refusal to mold herself to what is the norm for a star. I love that she writes and sings from the heart and real life. I wish more people were like her.

Whoopi Goldberg. I don't always agree with her but like that she is not afarid to speak her opinion and that she has been successful in Hollywood without buying into their notions of "beauty". And I get the impression that she would be a true friend and a lot of fun to be around.

Not a big fan of the genre but I can think of a few interesting country & western artists who, I believe, would make great dining companions.
Hank Williams Jr.
Reba McEntire.
Garth Brooks.
Any member of The Kentucky Headhunters. 'My Daddy Was A Milkman' was a favorite song of mine at the time it was released. :)

I am not really that enthused by celebrities but I would personally like to meet Luke Bryan.
His hometown is not far from me and he seems to be the nicest guy anyone would ever want to meet.

I listed someone else in a previous post, but I think your idea is great too. Whoopi does seem to be very real. Since watching her on The View, I have been impressed with her honesty.

LOVE him. My question would be - who the heck told him he could sing? Who the heck convinced him he would be a good Phantom of the Opera? Love you Gerry but OMG you were awful as the Phantom.
