Hi,
I recently heard that my FAVORITE character on TV is being "let go" from the show! I am so disappointed! Detective Bobby Goren is my favorite TV detective. In my opinion, they don't have a show without him.:shrug:

You'll be able to see him in other things and he said he'd be popping back as Goren off and on. At least Goren won't be killed off. Not a lot of comfort, but it's something.

I just LOVED his character so much! He was so intense and interesting!!!! So much better than most TV detectives, in my opinion. I always looked forward to the episodes that he starred in. AWESOME actor, and great character-like Sherlock Holmes or Miss Marple! Always such a TREAT to watch!

I LOVE the Bobby Goren character too-and Eames-She's leaving too! I think that's the end of the show! Those two are AWESOME together! The other characters just don't do it for me!

I absolutely loved his character. Loved him. I thought I would hate the new guy--Goldblum--but I actually really like him!

He makes the show as far as I'm concerned. I avoided most of the ones he wasn't in.
I loved his crazy ways and his interrogations. lol
This is crazy! Why let him go. He is great. I wonder about those casting people on the regular Law and Order. Years ago they did great, but then they started messing up. I cannot tolerate the actor they replaced the lead prosecutor with. (My favorite DA was promoted to the top DA position) He is boring and just an okay actor. Same goes for the female DA sidekick. I stopped watching that show completely. Terrible casting.
I like the casting on Law & Order SVU.
Now I hear they are ruining L&O Criminal Intent. Too bad.

Well for all us fans this is really bad news..I normally love Chris Noth but not when he was on this show..now Jeff Goldblume (sp) is good and somewhat quirky like Bobby was..but he is no Bobby..I think Jeff is as good a replacement as they could ever hope for..and Eames is leavin too..I love her..what a great actress..
It's kinda like when Archie and Edith Bunker left All In The Family..it just won't be the same..I am sad.
I do wonder what has happened behind the scenes that we don't know about..

I, too, love the character, Goren. He is my favorite!! I loved the episode where he called himself a "whack job."
His detective techniques brought humor to the program...so sad he is leaving.
I watched one or two episodes with Jeff Goldblum in it, but it's not as entertaining as Goren and Eames' characters are.
I'm glad to hear that Goren will make appearances on the show, and like another poster said, they didn't kill him off.
Thanks for the info.

I don't think the series will survive without Goren and Eames...
I'm sure it was done as a cost cutting move..
The series has actually gone downhill in recent years due to the assistant Da position being done away with and poor writing compared to the other Law and Order shows..
SVU has the best writing and it pained me as to why Criminal Intent was apparently deprived of Dick Wolf's best efforts.
I doubt I'll watch very much any more....
I absolutely loved his character. Loved him. I thought I would hate the new guy--Goldblum--but I actually really like him!
Hi Pal. I adore Bobby and Eames. What is the story? Are they leaving on their own or being kicked to the curb? In any event, we have years of reruns to look forward to and hopefully both actors will get paid. I always liked Jeff Goldblum but not in this. I find him painful to watch and skipping that part of the show. What happened to his face and he is thin as a rail.
I watch the Las Vegas reruns almost every day and love it. With new series being cancelled after one or two performances, why change or mess around with the hit shows? Makes no sense to me. The ER series is on every M-F too. During the working years, never had time to watch these shows but making up for it now.
Interested in your thoughts on this.

I don't know WHY they're leaving, but you don't have a show w/o Goren and Eames!!! :crying:
I often wished Bobby Goren was a real person! Wouldn't it be cool to have a friend like him!

Thanks for the information, D. Thats awesome. I wasnt sure if we were going to get any more episodes this season. This show has been through so much with Mandy leaving and having to throw out 7 scripts and now this. Kudos to them for pulling through.

I'm just chiming in to agree with everyone who feels that D'Onofrio created one of the all time great characters on television.
I loved watching how he would circle his 'prey', with his hands behind his back and his head tilted.
Oh! And the way he loved to touch and hold objects that belonged to the person being interrogated so he could gage their reaction. There were so many times when he didn't even need to say anything. His facial expressions and body language was enough. In my opinion, that is further testimony of his great acting ability.
Awhile back I saw him interviewed and he said he would probably not renew his contract when the time came, so I believe that this is his choice. He was very down to earth and even said that he wasn't sure if he would continue acting. He commented, "I have enough money."

I love Vincent D'Onofrio. He is an excellent actor.
Anyone remember the episode years ago on Homicide: Life on the Streets where he was trapped under a train?
Salton Sea, Full Metal Jacket, spectacular actor.
And Edgar in Men in Black.
I fell in love with D'Onofiro in the movie Steal this Movie (2000). It is a biographical movie in which he plays Abbie Hoffman. He is just great!!!! I have seen the movie multiple times.
I hope he does continue to act. I know L&E will be sad to see him leave the show. I hope to see him do further work in some capacity.

I don't see this show making it without Goren and Eames....
I don't get it. Actors have successfull shows, successful careers and then want to quit the show. What for??? What do they care what role or series they are on as long as they have a job and are getting paid?
