The San Francisco Zoo has hit the news again. This time, however, there was no death, thank heavens. But one really has to wonder what the guy was doing!

Maybe his name is "Adams"? (Grizzly Adams or a wannabe) Or a death wish? Man, I could think of other ways to bring on my demise rather than wrestling with grizzlies. Maybe he's "demented" with the mind of a "child" and wanted to 'play with them'? This is an adult..not a child, who should be supervised (I believe our local zoo does not allow a child under 16 (? not sure) to be there without adult supervision.

What a dumb thing to do, getting 'burned' by the enclosure on his way over? Then more vulnerable since he probably couldn't even try to defend himself? I'd guess the "electric" boundary was to keep the bears in..not somebody out..so I couldn't think of blaming the Zoo. Wonder if he was a former employee out for revenge? Not caring what happened to him, in the meantime?

Wonder if he's related to the dufuses that taunted the poor tiger that had to be put down?

This idiot is a transient... had several warrants against him so now he is sitting in the pokey... and will be mentally evaluated.. YA THINK....

I would of been totally ticked if we lost another gorgeous animal because some idiot doesn't know how to behave in a zoo.

How the heck he got into their environment they still haven't figured out.. I'm just happy no visitors were hurt, no caretakers of the bears were hurt and the bears.. two six year old sisters weren't hurt..

(09-27) 18:22 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- A 21-year-old man who was already charged with threatening family members with a knife was in jail Sunday after climbing into the San Francisco Zoo's grizzly bear grotto, a visit that could have turned fatal for either the man or the bears, authorities said.

It is surrounded on three sides by a 15- to 20-foot rock wall topped by electrified wires, and on the fourth side by an impassable 14-foot-deep moat.

Still, Herron managed to reach the quarters of the two 6-year-old, 500-pound female grizzlies just before the zoo closed at 5 p.m. Saturday, officials said at a news conference.

What is it....the water out here that causes folks to do crazy things..??

Fluoride.

They warned us.

This time, they had a "Rapid Response Team", that included a gent with rifle and live ammo.

Should have let the bear have him.

Family: Bear Break-In Suspect Had Mental Problems
http://cbs13.com/local/kenneth.herron.charged.2.1214605.html
Kenneth's family said he told them he was haunted by voices and believed he could talk to animals.

"I'm really not surprised that he was around animals, I'm just surprised he was around the grizzly bears," Kenzell said.
Apparently this guy had been in Sacramento until recently. The grandmother in Sacramento sent him to his other grandmother, who I guess, is in the Bay area. If they do sentence him to jail time, I hope they also specify some mental health assistance.

I can't really say that's a surprise. He's lucky he wasn't dinner for the bears.
