Kanye West Steals Taylor Swift's Thunder...But Not for Long
When sweet Swift won her award for Best Female Video, besting Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Pink, Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry.Shortly after she began her acceptance speech, West jumped onstage and pulled the microphone from her hand, saying, "I'm really happy for you, I'll let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time."

Beyoncé was so sweet to do what she did for Swift after Kanye did that.

I am disgusted with Kanye West. He needed his mother's gentle (and sometimes not so gentle) guiding hand to get his act together IMO. What a sad story he is with that bottle hanging down and swigging from it on the red carpet...
Beyonce:rose: has always been a very class act and I'm not surprised at what she did. She has a big heart and knew it had to be a major blow to Taylor.

This was one of the worst moments of this weekend, the other was when Serena Williams F bombed a line official in tennis. All I can say is they are bullies and they need to get over themselves. They both acted like spoiled brats and this is no where near what I really think about both.

Hi ya sweetie, I'm really torn on that one. I think Dr. Donda West was a great mother to Kanye and believe she tried to keep him centered. But that is JMO. I was deeply touched by Donda's death and can begin to imagine the pain he has endured since. Kanye has such talent and to see him waste away in hate and substance is very sad if that's what provokes his outbursts from my perspective.
IF THIS ARTICLE has a ring of truth, I am praying he seeks the help.

It was so mean. When I watched that last night, I was so angry... for hours, I was just stewing.. Can't believe his actions evoked so much emotion from me..
She's so young! Why would he pick on someone her age? It's not like Beyonce's video was anything great. It's just Beyonce shaking her booty the entire time. It's not creative or anything special, so that leads me to believe that he did it just to be spiteful and hurtful.
About Beyonce's reactions, she did the right thing. It was a great PR move for her to do what she did. I would like to think that her reaction was genuine - it seemed like it was to me.
Kanye really is an insensitive jerk. Sometimes I wonder if he's missing the frontal lobe portion of the brain, since he can't seem to control what comes out of his mouth.
Pathetic.

The only things I know about Kanye are when he appears in the news... and I can't say that I was surprised by his actions... but the shock and hurt on Taylors face and the utter shock on Beyonces said a lot.
Beyonces mother brought her up right.... she taught her to be gracious and compassionate and she showed that she has more class in one strand of hair than West has in his body.
I am so happy for Taylor and to have the support of Beyonce had to really make her win even more sweet.
And Taylor showed a lot of class in saying that she didn't want to start anything when reporters were obviously goating her into picking a fight... good for her, good for Beyonce ~ MTV needs to quit letting this punk get away w/his antics.

Yeah, I agree. She deserves it after the nightmare she had to endure last night. She looked absolutely horrified and embarrassed.. it was really sad to watch. On mtv's website, they had a really short interview with her and she said this:
"Well, you know, I was up there and I was standing there and I saw Kanye up on the stage," she explained. "I was really excited ... and I kind of wasn't excited anymore."
I think at first she thought he was coming onstage to congratulate her or something.. Poor girl. He's a class A jerk!

It's great that he is now apologizing, BUT......he has pulled stunts like this before (though usually when he did not win something) and apologized then also. What will really make a difference is if he does not do something like this again. He acts as if his opinion is the only one that really matters....that "his pick" must win or the contest was fixed. So how about he starts and funds the Kanye West Awards so he can just tell everyone who is the best; it would save an awful lot of trouble.

I was not surprised at all by Kanye's outburst. Watching the Red Carpet pre-show - he walked into the theater with a half-empty bottle of Hennessy. My daughter and I even commented "uh-oh".
He has always been a controversial figure -- and what he did as other times before this -- was totally tacky and disrespectful but he does get people's tongues wagging so he got the result he sought. JMO
I agree with the poster above that said he apologized but it doesn't give back Taylor Swift the moment she deserved although Beyonce's gesture was laudable.

Did anyone see Kanye on Leno last night? Audience chuckles? I hope people remember his rude behavior and don't try to sweep it under the rug. MO
I just watched it on TMZ. He played it up like he was remorseful, but I just have my doubts whether that was genuine or not.
I really think he was under the influence, but there is no excuse for what he did whether he was drunk or sober.
Plus this behavior - this ungracious, pompous, rude behavior where he interrupts people and claims he (or someone else) deserves an award more -- is a continuous theme with Kanye. If it had happened once, it would have been more forgivable, but it has happened before.
I love the song he co-wrote called 'Heartless' - it is one of my favorite songs, of course I like The Fray's version of it much better.. some of the words to that song could fit him.. JERK!

Taylor Swift Speaks Out On Kanye West's VMA Rant
Well, you know, I was up there and I was standing there and I saw Kanye up on the stage," she explained. "I was really excited ... and I kind of wasn't excited anymore."
However, the 19-year-old VMA winner got a second chance to give her speech, thanks to an "incredibly classy" Beyoncé, who forfeited her stage time when she won Video of the Year to allow Swift her moment to shine, without any interruption.
"You know, they told me to be ready just in case she might want to say something," Swift explained. "It was just so wonderful and so incredibly classy of her and just gracious and wonderful to let me say something. She's just been my hero and one of my idols ever since I was little. She's a great person."

I've seen talk about his drinking from a bottle before the awards show started. If he has a drinking problem, I hope his family and friends intervene and get him some help. But, I do not belive that his drinking caused this. If anything, the drink loosened his tongue and his real feelings showed. He seems to have issues that he needs to address. Hopefully, someone in the music industry will see that he needs help and point him in the right direction.
Frankly, if he were to go to Taylor and sincerely apologize and ask her forgiveness, I believe he would deserve another chance. Let's hope that happens.

I think the half empty bottle of booze and the attitude and the bad behavior are all part of his persona (which isn't to say he isn't really this type of jerk) - it's what makes him his money, those people who think acting rude and crude means you are a tough guy.
I think it's who he really is - but I think he's being encouraged to act this way, by fans, managers, etc.
And I'm glad Obama's comment got leaked - that's exactly right! Taking that moment away from someone else, because you wanted your friend to win - and I don't buy the apology a bit, especially since it sounds like he's only saying anything because Beyonce did win the Video of the year award, and thus it's OK for Taylor to win Female Video of the year.

What he did was awful. So childish and flat out stupid. I felt so bad for her. Even if people don't agree with who won, that was NOT the time or place to discuss their opinions on that. I used to be a fan of his, but not anymore.
I'm glad Beyonce gave Taylor her moment. She is a classy lady.

This guy has some nerve he not only stole Taylors moment but then goes on the Jay Leno show to promote his new song? The only reason the song will be a hit is because of the beautiful Rihanna.
